This guy has raced on this track so much he bends the corners like it's a video game. Superb driving on his part.
That’s me on a new track. By the second lap at most I’m one handing it to the end
I have raced there a lot and it is so easy to get used to
It's a easy track but I race outside
Well he’s definitely sliding way too much around some corners, missing some lifts and I can’t tell exactly but there’s definitely one break point that he missed often. As someone who worked at a track for two years I can tell you he’d get smoked by an actual decent driver. He is much better than your standard “arrive and drive” and knows what a line is..
CraverCuts at that specific track, it is actually faster to slide on some corners. Especially with the karts being electric, it’s faster to use the regenerative braking, not the actual brakes. And there’s really only one corner (the hairpin under the track above) where it’s actually faster to let off the gas

This guy can definitely drive a go-kart. The track is so narrow it must be annoying to overtake when racing against anyone slightly slower than you. Also, this is the first I've heard artificial engine sounds at an electric go-kart track.
The track width is 20' at most points during the race.
Jason Vyzer the nurburgring kart track has karts with artificial sound too

It's always easier to be more focused and be more efficient when you chase. You can see their line and quickly judge / find a better one....

Its easier to chase someone because you push yourself harder to get around them. Its harder to race defensively than offensively, because you can calculate their moves amd capitalize on their weaknesses

Enzo 1965 as an experienced karter, yes it’s seems too easy. All you have to do is life off and then get back on. There’s no real braking needed and braking is a very hard skill to master.
I’m in no way degrading the driver, he’s actually pretty good and you can tell he knows this track very well and controls the kart very well. But this is definitely an easy way to get into Karting.

I love the elevation changes of this track. I wish my track had those. Only thing I'd add is a couple longer straights. Enough to push the 50MPH indoor karts to the max.
I raced same style track at Andretti. Karts are too slow, speeds inconsistent between different karts, and tracks too narrow. Wish they would just make a scaled down copy of real tracks like Suzuka, Spa, Laguna Seca, etc.
DAMN, WHAT AN AMAZING IDEA! Scaled versions of real tracks would also be a huge advantage for car gamers and motorsport fans.

@@sadlife8495 it's not a profitable sport/hobby like other racing scene and expensive. Real karts cost $1000+ and parts add up fast. IMO it's more of a European sport. I guess we should just be happy they even have these electric things to try to bridge the gap.

It was so obvious he mastered the course from that very first S? Curve. He perfectly braked hard sideways so it was always straight and perfect on the outside turns to straights. Solid

@@joaomachado4359 They typically run terrible setups on purpose and weight jack front via awful camber/caster. Wheels are forced straight and drive like a semi-truck as you wrestle steering wheel to make even a small turn.
Keeps speeds down and simplifies driving; far less broken tie rods, etc...

Very good driving and also consistent on your lines! Hope you give outdoor karting a try if you haven't yet ,I think you'd do well at it . I did indoor for a couple years then got introduced to Honda spec 125 shifters at my local track and the speed and traction is incredible! Much more expensive for sure but a whole new level of fun. Again great driving thanks for sharing!

I've tried this one time at a similar place. You just don't realize how well these carts handle until you get out there and feel a few turns. Had a 180 turn in the middle and I couldn't figure out if it was faster to skid at full speed and accelerate or slow down and keep moving through the turn before accelerating. Wish they had more places like this.

Interesting how you use understeer and drift as a braking technique. Track could be wider in places for overtaking players off the racing line.
He's good with that thing more than any other rider for sure.
However, it's the thing you have to do when your go-kart has worn wheels and you can't get a pit stop (and the most funny thing to do)
U never brake on the indoor circuits lifting off slightly is all ya need, I luv these karts 😬
You just gotta drift past the corners and then floor it and counter steer, keeps momentum up and makes the Gap smaller while everyone else is braking.

Dont you mean over steer into drift.
Uhmm.. anytime traction is lost i.e. 'drifting, locking up, underbraking/over steering' you are losing time.
BRAKE IN A STRAIGHT LINE. ACCELERATE THROUGH THE CORNER.
I get he is trying to keep his revs up for better acceleration but if he slowed sooner and accelerated sooner he could cut those corners even tighter and exit out of them faster.

We have a few indoor tracks in Chicago but nothing like this. This multilevel track looks like so much fun! Probably not gonna be making the 15 hr drive out to Ct. Though.. :( nice driving btw.

The way you overtook that guy in the U-turn chicane thingy at 3:53 is a great example of why you swing wide there... you carry much more momentum... but as we see later sometimes it leaves the door open for someone to "try" and cut inside of you if they are close enough behind you... "if" 😎
Lines picked by racers depend on situation there is no line that will always give you the advantage

Had the same thing, lot younger then me, lot lighter as well. Only got third place continuously against the two despite it being about my 3rd, maybe 2nd race.
