@@jacktritton Curious question, why do shifter karts always have the stick mounted to the steering axle assembly? Is that compulsary? The engine is very fast and it’s the best the kart has ever handled for me. My driving style has always been smooth but I’m having to be slightly more aggressive in this which is hard for me. Thank you for the comment 😁
You're right about the set up of the kart. But you have to remember that the kart doesn't set itself up. It's down to the driver's feedback that dictates whether to add or remove grip by moving the wheels/tyres inwards or outwards or to adjust the chassis stiffness instead. Also, the engine will only be at it's quickest if it has been jetted correctly. I've seen many a seized Rotax twin because it has been run just that bit too lean in the search for the ultimate power output. People are often surprised at just how complicated setting up a kart to be at it's optimum can actually be. But yep, very smooth driving style. Smoothest is always quickest. The fastest drivers are always the ones that seem to be doing the least amount of work behind the wheel.

do you need to use the clutch to change down a gear?
No
No, the clutch is only used for pulling away and starting the kart.
