I just found your video and I want to do the same thing to my cargo trailer camper. So my first question is (1) after 4 years how is it holding up are you happy you did it and (2) when you said you roughed the surface how rough are we talking here,do I use a gritty sand paper or would a wire wheel work? Looks good I like it!!
Rustbelt Mechanic, I have an important questions. 1. I did Raptor Liner in the interior of my Jeep years ago so I could run without carpets and just be able to hose out the interior after off roading. It looked and worked great. HOWEVER... I never realized how bad and how long the Raptor Liner would put off smelly gasses. I applied the liner in May, in Tennessee. It didn't stop smelling so bad I had to park my jeep out of the garage (or stink up the house) and run without top & doors until late August. I had waterproof seat covers for the rain, but that didn't keep me dry. I can't imagine how bad and how long Raptor Liner would smell inside an enclosed trailer without any ventilation. What was your experience? 2. You did this video 4 years ago. How did the Raptor Liner hold up over time?
A year later how has it held up? I’m about to pick up my 8.5x26 custom enclosed trailer and I plan to spray or roll raptor liner in. Any further suggestions or recommendations for either spray, roll, process, ideas?
I'm a dealer for Speed Liner bedliners. Their products come in gallon kits and it's a lot cheap in price for a gallon verses the Raptor. Hopefully it holds up for you
Next time try some shoe spikes made for epoxy floor installs. They strap to your shoes so you can walk on the product and work easier and faster. Just a thought. FYI, don't drag your feet, you will definitely scratch the surface.
Hey @Rustbelt Mechanic. How is this holding up? How do you think the liner would hole up to snowmobile carbides over and over?? I'm guessing you can easily recoat if needed. TIA
@@RustbeltMechanic that sucks, just saw that video. Well when you do another one, be sure to let me know! Lol j/k. I think I'm going to have mine sprayed w/ Line-X just due to my lack of time and living in a cold climate.
@@Norm1212 I'm looking to do this in my snowmobile trailer too. I had a quote for Line-X and it was pretty high so I started searching DIY products and I'm leaning towards Raptor.
Nice, I would have primed it first though. OSB will suck up a ton of material. I have a toy hauler that I am going to do the floor. Thinking about using Raptor for it too. Thank you for sharing, How has it held up?
Had the side by side in and out of it about 15-20 times and went down to the dunes carrying everyone’s gear and coolers, no flooring failures as of yet!
I’ll definitely do an update on it but loaded the side by side in and out three times so far and a load of coolers and beach stuff with no chipping yet
@@RustbeltMechanic rolling probably works better than spray on as rolling pushes it into the pores or whatever roughness there is in the underlying wood better than spraying wood
@@MarkSpencerAZ still going strong and no chipping so far! Side by side has been in and out about 20 times and even got wrangled into moving furniture twice lol
Much like the liner on your truck, this turned out looking sweet. I am concerned though about you breathing too much of that stuff. Raptor liner never stops emitting toxic and carcinogenic fumes. Infact, using it on interior surfaces traps and concentrates those fumes even more so. Make quick trips in and out of the trailer to try and minimize your inhalation of that stuff. Please
@@RustbeltMechanic I bet but the end product came out very nice man. looking forward to more of your tool reviews and also I'm going to get the mastercraft toolbox 41X24 top and bottom. what's your opinion on their tool boxes. By Menards.
I like them! My wife is actually a tattoo artist and I bought her the 30” one for her station. I told her “this one is almost too nice to not use for tools” lmao
@@RustbeltMechanic well thanks for the opinion and yes they are very nice but they are for an everyday home mechanic and anything else. That's cool that your wife is a tattoo artist. Looking forward to more videos by you you have helped me decide on certain tools to get and what not to waste my money on. question are crows feet worth getting?
Thanks for sharing! I may try it on the lawn trailer this Spring!
Best idea ever for a trailer floor. Have the same trailer. Better this way than the rubber mats
Looking to do the same. Good to see a roller application as I was not sure if spray or roller would be better.

Its been a year, is there an update?
How well has it held up?
Probably good cuz it got stolen brah
Hows it holding up? My trailer floor came already painted can i put this product over the paint?

Where we can find this speed liner that you mentioned?
How would this hold up to sled carbides?
I have a 7x14 enclosed trailer how much you recommend I use, kit wise?
I just bought a 7x14 and am trying to figure out what to do as well. Let me know if you find out anything.
My knees hurt just watching this 😩😎

What did you use to clean the osb?
Did you have to primer the floor with that And did you have to sand it

Sorry but no clue. This trailer was stolen a few years back.

Hard work but worth every second, good job 👏 !

Off l mean as mine is fiberglass stips n shitty

Unfortunately no clue, the trailer was stolen a year or so back.
@@RustbeltMechanic oh no!, sorry to hear that
Nice video but what about tire mark issues
Never really did have that issue. But honestly I didn’t get to use it more than 10 times before that trailer was stolen.
Looks great !!
Any updates? How’s it holding up? Looks great, great video.

Nice work. I have a 6/12 inclosed , how many kits u think it will take to do the job?
Prob about two kits.
Thanks for posting great video
Did you end up doing anything to the bare wood underneath the trailer?
Nope
How is it holding up
No clue… this trailer was stolen about 2 years ago
Great video
Any updates?
Was great...trailer got stolen... so who knows now🤷♂️
@@RustbeltMechanic 😳
Sorry to hear that.
What size is your trailer? I have an 8.5x24 and want to know how much to buy for 2 coats like you did
8.5x20. So 2 full 8 bottle kits should do just fine
@@RustbeltMechanic so is that 2 gallons or quantity 2 from the Amazon link?
@@Jamest315 2 kits in the link
Im currently working on my trailer. How did you like it so far, is it how is it holding up
Well it was fine.... until that trailer got stolen in December
Looks awesome
Can you do a quick update video ?
That trailer was stolen, sorry so not able to do updates on that one specifically.
Try priming the floor first, might go better?
Was this on the dry max flooring?
Yes
Looks great until start loading quads / dirt bikes in it. Then It peels after a year or so. The best is the nickel coin rubber flooring.
I’ll definitely do an update on it but loaded the side by side in and out three times so far and a load of coolers and beach stuff with no chipping yet

@@RustbeltMechanic thanks! Did you pre-treat with anything like a polyurethane or resin, or did you put the raptor directly on the wood?
@@MarkSpencerAZ you see it in the video, sanded up a bit and cleaned very well and that’s it.
best thing to do for that trailer. also bet a good 6 hour project.

Highly depends on the work you do...for just standard automotive stuff, very rarely. But on heavy duty things or working with hydraulic lines then yes
Those flags threw me the fuck off. Smh
Looks great!
