"Only four of us can write." What a line
yeah, i just picked up on that today, $10 each, aloysious will have to make an x as only 4 of us can write.
It was believable for back then foo
@@amandagardner565 Lol yeah its very deceptively polite lol
“That’ll be fine”
Ugh I'm slow. What is Clooney mean by "only four of us can write"?
I just love Clooneys facial expressions throughout the song. Like he's in permanent fear of being found out!
So... he looks like a man in constant sorrow, right?
Just like his entire career
Yeah even his neck veins stand out at the right times. I’m sure he actually sang the song and then they put another voice on top of his.
@@lizzfrmhon that's Dan Tyminski singing he and his group Union Station
He's a great actor and it doesnt matter that he didn't sing the song ( well he did) but it was dubbed over). He is a great actor he was before but i love this music. Perfect for the part.
This must be one of the most wholesome movies I've ever seen.

This scene is utter perfection all by itself, but it also sets up one of the greatest payoffs in cinema history at the movie's end.

Dan Tyminski from Union Station.

Dan Tyminski also did the vocals for Avicii’s Hey Brother.

As a metal and rock fan this bluegrass piece has always been atop of my lists
The banjo is pretty metal, I think
@Stijn Nagelmaker Agreed, I guess there are songs like that across every genres thta have that certain "it". Good movie for sure too, captures the time period perfectly, at least my understanding of it
My favorite band is Death but I can listen to this song over and over. BTW there’s a band called Hayseed Dixie that does AC/DC songs bluegrass style...worth checking out.
Most metal derives from classic blues mixed with melodic minors of classical, so it makes sense to me.
Us metalheads are known for our eclectic taste in music, genre doesn't matter, a good song is a good song.
Proper film. A proper film. A lyrical masterpiece.

You may recall that this was George Clooney's first real lead role in a comedy. And he nailed it.
Lampost Legion what about Batman and Robin? Movie wasn’t great, but it was more a comedy than anything else.
Smashed it. Not to take away from it but it helps when you have Tim Blake Nelson and John Turturro riding with you.
He's not my favorite actor, but man he is absolutely brilliant in this.
Well he was in The Attack of the Killer Tomatoes, you could say that was a comedy 😂
Best film ever he's made.
Steven Root played the shit out of the blind man

I grew up in a southern town where music like this was the main attraction every friday and saturday night. this is authentic as it gets. The entire soundtrack from this movie is absolute gold. To see some of the pieces played in person is mind boggling. Try to watch their hands play and youll have your eyes twisted
Arizona, same. Outside of the cities. This is just American music.
A lot of city folks love it too!
My dad likes a group whose guitar player (who has since passed) could and would restring his guitar mid-song without you ever noticing anything had happened.
I'm from the UK and my eyes were twisted. I just love this so much ❤
doubt you grew up in a southern town where music like this was the main attention. this music has not been popular for a long time, thanks.
I don’t think enough people appreciate Stephen Root’s rather brief appearance here. Easily one of the best of the best character actors of all time and I’m slightly convinced he probably improved some of the eccentricities in this scene because they’re just too perfectly natural ❤️
I never thought I'd see buck Strickland in live action
This little vocal mimicry of the singers note getting higher was such a wonderful touch. He did so much for such a small role.
Coens wrote the part specifically for him, as they do for Buscemi, Goodman and Turturro in their other films.
@@CaptNeeda that makes a lot of sense. I mean there’s little doubt that the Coens genuinely love Root based on how often he appears in their films. He’s just friggen awesome ❤️
Root has long been one of my favorites. The man is a chameleon. Compare O' Brother, Office Space, News Radio, and Barry!
One of the most evocative, tenderly curated, and exquisitely performed American music soundtracks ever. 'Go to sleep little baby" Homer would blush at it.

This movie is severely underrated and underappreciated! It's one of my favorite movies!
not really, it got nominated for a lot of different awards at different shows and won a few. 1 nomination was sci fi weirdly, i suppose homers odyssey in the 1930s?
I remember my parents taking me to go see this in the theater. I knew nothing about it. Some of my favorite experiences in the theater is seeing a film, that I know nothing about and have no expectations for, and have it completely entertain me from opening to closing credits. THIS movie was the epitome of that experience. I love this movie. And this scene and the finale when they sing it....I just can't help but smile and sing along!
That was my experience with Point Break, I left thinking/feeling I just saw something amazing, this was Katherine Bigelow's 1st time directing!🎬🙂
I experienced this with John Carter of Mars. My brother said let’s go see it. Ok. Loved it. Read some of the books afterward. Captivating story.
That happened with me with Inception, Tron Legacy, Avatar, Star Wars, and Legends of the Fall... then I realized I'm never watching a trailer/spoilers again. No bias, just sit and watch, and whether the film will stand on its own merits vs hype.
I'm born 92. Some reason our teacher gave us this masterpiece

Possibly the Coen's most underrated.
It’s because it’s got a lot of specific content that isn’t as appealing for such a wide audience unlike some of their other films. Such as Big Lebowski and Fargo.

Perhaps, but I would imagine Stephen Root would prefer it that way. I really enjoy working actors like him. Having the appearance of being underrated gives him the flexibility to take on a mixture of roles without the expectations of being type-cast like many A-list actors.
Not as much as Timothy Blake Nelson
His character in News Radio back in the 90s was fantastic (hell, most of that cast was).
