I Threw A SWIMBAIT Below This HYDRO-ELECTRIC SPILLWAY!!! (I've Never Had This Happen)

- The last visit to the MASSIVE SPILLWAY that I have been staring at on google maps for years was.. Well.. Kinda disappointing. I showed up with all these hopes, and dreams, and blew it. There is giant fish in this place and not very many people fish it, so I thought it would be easy,.. But it wasn't. I had to try again before it got too cold, so I made the drive in search of my last flathead of the year. PAAA POWWW!!!

I like seeing you fish a location on multiple videos. If you think about it, that’s what 99% of us do. We fish a handful of spots over and over again. Seeing how someone else approaches things on different trips is very helpful.
So damn true. Thers dream spots i feel must of us pass daily but for multiple reason arnt gonna happen. You work with what you got. Persistence as usual. Never give cause you never know. we've all got story's this that but the real shit is gettin out there experiencing it. More story's more good times
Your absolutely right
If you're able, get a kayak. Changed my life.
Damn that was a hell of a drum roll 🥁
Ha lol
Stache, I’ve never NOT enjoyed one of your videos. I relate to your love for fishing and love for your family. Thanks for what you do and stay genuine, brother. I stay fishing spillways and dams for big blues, flats, spots, hybrids, and stripes here on the Chattahoochie in GA. Hope to meet up one day and fish. 🎣 ✌️
Would love to see those drums used as giant flathead baits.
Always good content, but I am looking forward to some ice fishing.
Never seen so many drum caught from one spot. Fun to catch!
Well man I was rooting for ya, I wanted to see one last giant Flathead too!
Can we get a “drum roll” lol. Good stuff!
drum roll please... (at the kfc drive thru)
Josh My lady just broke my rod in the car door! When are the Stache Sticks coming out???
Had to laugh at the continuous drum hook sets at the end 😂😂😂 good chit stache man.
Another 💥 BANGER 💥 Josh let's go!!!
It looks like some waiters would probably be great for this spot
Or a kayak if possible.
How about a drum catch n cook
Josh, I’m trying to mimic your jig crawler approach for drum. It seems like you work it pretty slow. Are you bouncing it off the bottom or am I getting a false impression from the videos. You the man.
It's always amusing to listen to Josh yapping away. Thanks for the video!
Yo Josh, ❤ your channel man! Out of all the anglers on here, I relate to you the most. Your genuine love for fishing and the way you talk about your family is good stuff man.
Do you have dogfish/bowfin around your area? I’d like to see you go for those
Best wishes to you and your family. Been awile sence I left a comment. Always love your vids man appreciate all the hard work.
Perfect opportunity for a Drum Bud catch and cook.
Hey stache man do you ever catch small mouth at these rivers? Or largemouth just curious nice video man
Love the videos man! It’s how I grew up fishing in Kansas. Here’s a small tip for you. Try fishing a big wad of live worms under a cork and float it right off the bottom, on drop offs, rock piles, and brush.
Was worried about you for a minute usually you upload on Sunday glad all is well
Josh you have just done what we all would have done ! You found a good spot and you have explored the whole of the place and banged the Drum about it there has to be another video in this spot maybe, possibly, should be !
Silver lining, it's fall trout stock season. Those little fish fight like hell. Not as exciting as big cats but it's something.
I need more videos lmao
Tearing the drumb budz up on that swimin bait! Must be getting a little bit cold for the catfish, still looking like fun 4sure!!!
It's a drum, bud. Apparently that's and the occasional gar. That's all that's there.
Watch the recent videos. Been nailing flatheads.
I love the fact you go to places you hardly ever go and still succeed! If you fished there a few times a week you would know exactly how to catch every species and it wouldn’t be as exciting for you, and us. Keep yo with the good work!
Looks like it was a drum bud fishing trip! As long as you feel that thump, it’s a great fishing trip!
Another good video. Looking forward to ice season.
Good vid brother I'm in Toledo Ohio so I fish lake Erie and every year this time we take the yaks to the warm water discharge from the power plant and smoke huge 15 pound drums with crank baits along the rock wall some of the best fishing I get this part of the country it is a absolute blast and they hammer those crank baits 💪 strong
Shout out to Toledo, I do the same thing in Perry Ohio Neff Perkins discharge. It's close to the Perry nuclear power plant!!💯🔥
Why not hit the early steelhead runs?
@@mickysmithiii1213 I'm in Toledo Ohio don't have them here wish we did
"to cold for flathead" ~ boos 50lber on ice disagrees
Hell yea new video lets gooooo
Still asking for a catch and cook drum bud. Those were looking clean!
All good stuff keep them coming
I’m sitting and waiting on the stache sticks to be on the 6s site lol
Here in Oz we've got a relative of the old drum bud. It's called a mulloway (or jewfish) and the similarity is striking. They also remind me superficially of barred or silver javelin fish. All three are very good eating and prized sports fish, especially on lighter gear. The mulloway can get up to over 6 feet long while javelin (also called grunter bream) only get to about 32 inches long.
About 3 years ago I caught a flathead (local fish not related to your catfish) and when I hauled it in I found it was wrapped in the line about 20 feet above the bait! It tasted extra good for dinner that night. The boss even got photos on her phone so I had bragging rights on Facebook lol.
It’s fine to go back to the same spots especially if you’re switching things up and seeing what kind of results you get and we could maybe do the same thing at our fishing holes.
Once you find a good hole on the river.. it's productive all year. You may not be catching the species you are aiming for, switching it up will always ensure your trip is fun.. even if you pull a 12lb buffalo out of it instead of that monster flathead you're going for.
Haha, look at the head and face of a drum, tell me that don't look like jar jar binx. Haha! Hell down South in places they call them a gaspergoo or something like that.
If ever there was a drum catch & cook, that would be the place to get them !
But that’s just me, the guy who’s never ate a drum. 😂
Cool place to fish though. 👍
Bro-stacheo,
Repetitive content is ALWAYS still great watchable content my bro-stacheian..
I mean I understand if YOU don't like it as your own personal opinion
But as an avid watcher and follower of your channel..
I wouldn't care if you went to the same spot every episode catching the same species.. tbh
Or if you didn't catch anything at all..
your content is and has always been 👌🏼!
Your attitude, knowledge, sense of humor,. and personality is what gets/keeps peoples attention and keeps them "hooked"
C&C'S, shite species, of course the PB'S and non commons are everyone's favorite to see but all have the potential to make 👌🏼 content.
It's all about the extra stuff or mile you go to make your content different than anyone else and you've been had that down!!
Hope all is well with you and the fam!!
God bless
✌🏼😎✌🏼
Pig 🐷 Patrol Rocks
Man,
I just like the hell out of this guy!
Love that he hasn't turned into a Jimmy Houston video,no offense Jimmy!!My point is he has stayed grounded,of course his channel and life will and should upgrade,so I'm a subscriber for the long haul...👍
HOLY DRUM BUD....where did the other fish go??..I've never caught that many drum in one place.still a cool video and we appreciate it.
Drum buds to the right. Drum buds to the left. What did I do...Caught'm All!💪😂
You said HOLY hell??? EXSCUSE ME THERES NOTHING HOLY ABOUT HELL BUDDYRO
That braid isn't very abrasion resistant. One little rock and that 65lb line brakes like you cut it with a razor! I like the braid though just don't use it around a bunch of rocks if I can keep from it, 40lb Berkley big game mono is what I use for my sub for the braid...
Appreciate this video. I’m stuck inside right now due to cold weather and warm water fishery.
But! This hits the spot.
Hopefully I am not a complete dumbass and didn't hear it and this could most definitely be the case but any word on when we can buy and how much those badass stache stix are yet?!?! Please if anyone has heard reply to me!! Thank you very much I want to get a few for my 8yr old son!! Usually we sit down and watch your new video together and that is our special time and everyone knows not to interrupt us or there will be hell to pay!! Anyhoosey enough of my rambling ass have a great day Lmfao 🤣😂😅🤣
Yes Josh! You fish some awesome spots man, we don't have places like this in the UK. You crack me up 🤣 keep up the great work! You boys need to get on the ground bait and halibut pellets on a hair rig in these spots for the cats maybe? And stuff!!
First time watcher. New subscriber. I think I'm gonna grow a stache and fish now though.
I never knew you played the drums so we'll. Hell 30 million drum buds are better than nothing. When are we going to be able to get the ol Stache Sticks????
i know from personal experience when fishing gets monotonous... it's just boring. I choose to hike cool trails, swim in the damn damns' waters, jump off the darn bridges, pray to the fish gods, and the monotony gets a new life.
I carved the ivory discs from the heads of the Drum I caught on the Missouri River, sanded the back flat and glued them to the reel seat of my spinning rods with super glue.
Well thats progress from 1st time you was there lol. Well done you will get them figured out soon I'm sure.
Lower Wisconsin lakes are at 50 to 55 degrees now, some lakes not all. I caught a gar ice fishing jigging a rap & got a gar but it wasn't on the rap, it bit my line, then started twisting but I pulled him up the hole & he was biting the line only.
Here in mn the flatheads shut down at below 50 so I’d say you could get one with some luck. Definitely slows down once it’s below 60
I am wondering what the best channel catfish bait is that isn’t a live fish, because live fish as bait is illegal where i live
Never quite understood why some states allow anglers to have multiple lines in the water at the same time. If you can't catch a fish on one line, you shouldn't be fishing then.
Drum are so nasty but everyrime I catch one. They hit it like a truck. And fight hard as hell. One of the better tugging fish in my opinion
fishin is fishin brother
is what it is man
"drumpatrol" lol jus kiddin man.
keep them lines tight
Id be so hyped on a trout video one of these days
I’ve watched you for a long time now, always thought you had the sickest outro music. That is all.
Bro you need to get a small towel and carry it on the belt loop so you can wipe off the dirt from the worms and keep your rods clean lol 😂 that’s one thing that bothers me
I always have one when I’m fishing and when I’m with my kids each one has a towel
Some folk used frayed rope with no hooks to catch gar back in the day.
Happens all the time on the ocean with the damn hound needle fish. They'll snag in your line like 20 feet away from the bait
Do you fish with Milliken Fishing anymore loved you guys together
Assuming its legal, you could have kept one of the drum for cut bait. Big blue season is starting
I'm surprised you don't use the drum as bait. I've caught quite a bit of flatheads on them.
I'm surprised your fingers are not permanently brown from all that crawler goo!
i got a new spot you should try. limited out on trout yesterday in about 5m big bass 10 15 lb channels monster crappie
Any conflict with the name Pig patrol? There is TY Pig patrol.
Can I get me a new Duke, a couple quakes and thuds using promo code stache? 😁😁
Heck yeah... 30 "wrong" fish are better than zero fish!
Something is ALWAYS better than nothing (or not getting your target species) 😊
Need to come to Lincolnton North Carolina and fish the south fork river with me..
If you ever feel like coming to ontario Canada. Take you out on the boat to lake Erie and lake st Clair.
What’s up with a turtle compilation video?! #Iliketurtles
I need to get out fishing before it freezes, also have those same pulsar swimbaits :D
Never a dull moment with a bazillion sheep shits around😇
Love ya dude! Thanks for postin anyway💜💜
Hey boss like your videos but Look at 2.02 is that a stick in the water or is that a gar?
You might try bringing a rag with ya to wipe your hamds.I hate when I forget it.
Dos drums wus perfect size to phil aye and bake em🤠
Does it freeze over there in the winter? Drum!; The poor man’s White Bass!
What kind of price for a STACHE stick.
Swimbaitin and waitin. Swimbait and waitin. Boys and girls. Lol
Thanks for not licking the lens. That's effing gross bro.
It’s not private lmfao. Take a kayak on the water and no one can tell u boo lmao
I feel like you caught the same drum multiple times 😂😂
Any day I'm catching fish I call it a good day. So you had a good day.
Night of the living drum buds!!! Never seen so many drum caught in my life!!! Lol. Love u vids stache man keep up the good work!!!
Pretty sure he says drum butt
Would love to see those drums used as giant flathead baits.
Are we ever Gunna see out stash stain in a watter scamp or kayak?
Drum cut bait around my Parts gets us some big flats
Those drum buds are actually pretty tasty..

Try casting in other spots. U keep casting in the same spot
