Idk why but that interaction made me so happy even though I couldn't see it. The man so genuinely interested in his baits and giving thoughtful information. This is what fishing should be, not holding your hotspots because they produce, chances are 100 people already know your spot anyways, might as well share the joy of fishing with everybody. It could be their first time fishing and an interaction like this would make me keep fishing for years even if I didn't catch anything
Hey Dad its Chip. There was a time where i frolicked in the strawberries. I miss those times! Please plant me a patch so i can live out my days snatching them! Thanks!
You should sell unpainted cast resin lures. Cheep, easy, and a fun project for your followers. I'm posting this idea because my friend (who also watches these videos) was a big fan of it, so I might post it on another video, too. It's nice to see another bank build like the good old days lol
Ok I've never made a swim-bait request before but, recently I discovered the Devils Hole Pupfish. Quite a unique specimen, that I think would look absolutely fabulous as a swim-bait. Obviously, you don't have to make it any time soon, but it would be very cool to see in the future. Other than that, I love your content! Keep up the good work!
I will see the jalapeño popper build this summer! I will see the jalapeño popper build this summer! I will see the jalapeño popper build this summer! 🤞🤞🤞🤞
Just starting the vid, looking forward to some Awesome! 🫰🤙👍! And after watching, 😢sorry about the bait. But, if it were me, I'd go back and get more of the Cottonwood bark. That stuff looks good, floats, carves fairly easy, and would possibly look good with a natural/ mostly natural wood(bark) finish.
First I want to say I love the riverbank builds, I would also like to share a trick I've used for years with a pretty good success rate to retrieve snagged crank baits and sometimes other baits with trebles. I use a 2 or 3 oz bell wait and attach a lock snap to the eye on the bell sinker. When I get snagged, I snap the lock snap onto my line and let it slide down the line with the rod tip up. I would say I have an 85 to 90 percent success rate knocking the bait off of the snag. It's cheap and works pretty well. Hope that little tip helps! If not, just ignore me and keep the great content coming sir!
Man I love this channel. You, my friend, are just insanely enjoyable to watch. I don't make baits, but I do fish, and I just thoroughly enjoy watching every single video you put out. So thanks man, keep doing what you do.
Best advice ever for leader knots, try the FG. It's a great knot and never fails once you get it right also not as hard to do as some people say.. When I started fishing about 40y ago I got into sport fishing with a club and soon learnt what knots work and what is BS, buy testing them all with scales and one KG line. So with my bait caster I was running a bimini twist and my own modified albright to leader, now just run the FG to leader. Also fluorocarbon leader is really hard to get a good knot in and I do use it for ultra light stuff but when you need to pull hard just use old school mono in the color closest to the water color. Great stuff from you as always.
I recently saw your saltwater fishing video. Have you ever thought of making a shrimp lure? It might be cool before your next saltwater trip to make some saltwater lures and send them to some saltwater fishing UA-camrs (I watch Fishaholic Fishing a lot so I would recommend him). Thanks for your channel. Great relaxation.
3 other things: First, saltwater fishermen consistently use 6-12 inch baits, which are probably more fun to make. Second, saltwater has a huge array of creatures you've never made before. Third, saltwater anglers pay huge dollars for their lures. Ok, none of this responds to this actual video but it was on my mind.
You need to take chip with you on a one day I absolutely love your videos I have seen all of the ones you have made so far and I just love how you do everything in your videos
Fishing tips, I tie hooks onto expensive bait using a lighter mono loop instead of split rings so that if I snag, I can just snap the mono loop yet save the lure. I also use just one hook on the belly instead of 2. Bucket mouth normally aim for the head so should work unless you want more hooks to snag anything that touches the lure.
Love the video, Nate! I think a wooden jig head with a lip and a plastic grub style trailer would be an interesting "One Day" build. Half crankbait, half plastic equals one fish catching machine.
It seems like you could make a lure out if a piece of a tree branch. You might even find one with the right diameter so you don't need to carve off much.
you can make the river bank baits without sandpaper. if you got a knife with a sharp 90 degree spine you can carve the bait then run the spine perpendicular to the bait and smooth it out, doing 2 tasks with one tool. the spine shaves off very little curls of wood and leaves a super smooth finish. maybe something to try out?
Another great video and lure. Shame that uv clearcoat didnt work out, but the lure looked nicer than anything i could make in a shop. Nice fish foreshadowing btw.
Never did I think a bait maker would be such an integral part of my week
I don't even fish...
@@YungLilBoii 😂❤
This video makes me happy
I’ve been waiting
His videos always make me happy too!

These are my favorite
Always love your river bank builds Nate!
The best quote "Saws for sawing" Another great video ❤
I need this right now to help relieve some stress. Thank you Nate.

What an awesome bank build! Now we just need a pink floppy human swimbait in 2023! Let's make it O-FISH-AL!!
This channel carsandcameras and taryl fixes all are definitely my top three favorite UA-cam channels
The Buffalo glooping on cotton wood seeds was awesome!
River Bank builds are the best.

17:55 Strong your lure is and those carp are great from the garden.
Great way to end the day after work
River bank builds are the best!

If I remember correctly, that's the rarest fish in the world as well. You can only find it in one place in the entire world.
Fresh off work to a new marling baits video nights off to a great start
these videos are keeping me going through my a level exams, thank you 😅
Yes!! Oh my day has gotten so much better!!!
Love the bank builds but still asking for the kayak-bank build awesome video as always.
A beach trash/driftwood build would be neat to see if you're ever coastal
Fishin time !
Watching you do a bank build is so soothing. The way you carve it out of just a chunk of birch bark is amazing. Such a shame that you lost that one.
Not birch
I'm a simple man. I see nate doing a bank build. I hit like before starting the video
insane bait :) so cool!
I will see the jalapeño popper build this summer! I will see the jalapeño popper build this summer! I will see the jalapeño popper build this summer! 🤞🤞🤞🤞
A new Marling baits video! Always makes my day.
Build to catch videos make me so motivated!

when you see chip at the beginning you know its gonna be good!!!
I just started making fishing videos, your videos where my main inspiration
I like these bank builds. Dope
Love this raw natural'ish lure making on the bank! We need more of these great videos!
Another great River bank build! Thanks for adding a bright spot to the work day.
You sir, are the Master!

Dude there have definitely been times where that trick would have saved me 😅 thanks !
These are my FAVORITE bait builds! It's definitely summer now🎣

Building baits and watching marling baits can't get better

Fellow Iowa fisherman here 🎉
Love the build. I’ve used one I’ve those exact caps on a jitter bug I made for the lip.
I bet it really made you feel grounded to do this on the bank!
Wow. Very pretty bait. Crazy that you made that on the River bank
best way to start a video
These river bank builds are getting extreme!
Glad to see you post such an exciting one. Got a little worried with no upload over the weekend 😅
Well shoot this was exactly what I was looking for… simple rough build… I might need a vid every week I’m running thru these vids lmao
Thanks man, lookin forward to yer next build!
Always a good day for a river bank build.
Always a good day when you upload. :)
Ah this is a nice flashback to why I started following you on my personal account!
First! Dude, excited is an understatement! Can’t wait to see this video, Marling rocks!!!
Stanley makes a nice tool backpack if you are planning on doing this stuff often :)
now this is good to watch
My son is making custom spoon lures and selling them you inspired us to try making some of our own
Easily best fishing channel

I used to turn my lures by hand with a vice grip. I’d watch you making lures while waiting to stop twirling the bait
the river giveth.... the river taketh away!
Always impressive bank builds with minimal amount of tools! Your skills have progressed quickly, keep it going 👍
Amazing baits as always
Greetings from the BIG SKY. I hope you brought a pocket full of luck.
Been watching for years Nate, love the vids, especially these river bank builds :)
Turning trash into fish, this is an interesting series!
"I said that, and I just did" 🤣🤣
This guy got me into bait making and mine look like a hardly round block of wood with splotches of paint 😂 I suggest that you make a shrimp lure
Algo bump. I need Nate at 1 million subs.
One day!
Amazing build! Amazing craftsmanship!
As a bowfisher those carp got me excited
Next challenge: building a lure with only trash you find along the river bank! Extra bonus if it's a top water lure.
Awesome video man
I loveeeeee theseeeeeeee❤
Even the fish are like, “hurry up already. I want to see it.” Love your videos.
Yeah hurry up with my order. I'm ready to catch fish with this. Thanks!
Love it
Dangit! I loved this video nonetheless
You even said that was the chair and not a fart
You can take a leaf instead of painters tape to make nicer and more or less perfect lines with spray paint
I've been looking forward to this. I wish you'd upload more though
Nate makes a better bait on the bank than I could in my garage.
Late tithe party... time zone sucks. Awesome stuff as usual, and please make a corky
Love the video, Nate! I think a wooden jig head with a lip and a plastic grub style trailer would be an interesting "One Day" build. Half crankbait, half plastic equals one fish catching machine.
This is very cool 👍
More videos like this please....
Hey i was waiting for one of these videos. Hood job
Love love love this video. :] The guy with the secret fishing spots cracked me up. Lololol
Also, screw those nasty ass carp 🤮
It seems like you could make a lure out if a piece of a tree branch. You might even find one with the right diameter so you don't need to carve off much.
Zayummm!!
Amazing now when marlin uploads a video
You should do it "Alone" style set a limit on items. 5 tools, 5 bait materials, 5 paint colors.
River builds are my favorite! I would also love a pure survival lure making episode! Tools would be a knife or possibly a Swiss army knife.
Take Chip with you the next outing, if you can’t catch ‘em he will.

If you fold back that crimped edge it make ,sthe rim very stiff found out when making washer,s great job wow Peace
Its Ofishal!
Marling baits has posted a new video
