I once found myself standing behind two Albanian soldiers in a line at a grocery store. It was somewhere in the U.S. (Can't say the location ;) I kept staring at the patch (coat of arms) on their uniform. I left the store and had my husband finish the shopping. But your story was funny! @Nikoladin Well your opinion is obviously going to be biased since you’re a Serb, I would say that the Slavic Macedonians are definitely the most radical. But either way I don’t blame Albanians, since they’ve had most of their native lands unfairly partitioned from them.
@Nikoladin According to history Albanians are native to modern-day West Montenegro, South Serbia, Kosovo, West Macedonia and Albania. They were the first inhabitants of these specific regions.

Hey Charles i work at the Nikola Tesla airport,so 80% of people traveling to New York are albanians,at every flight about 30% have "kosovo" passport its not that uncommon just letting you know.
Opa Bato, as of today, your kidneys are on the market too. Charles, I often think of people who are close to the Serbian people. I hope no one will ever use you for some cheap political nonsense. I would like you to feel good that you are a part of us and to feel only the good that our people and our faith can provide you. I would like you to be proud of the fact that we really have something to offer the world and that this is exactly why you wanted to be a part of us. Also, our pride is huge that we have people like you with us. Because of such people, it would be an honor for me to have the citizenship of countries that, in general, did not deserve it, but ..... good people live there as well. In fact, all this I have written to you is an introduction to something I want to tell you. I know that you know that there are good people everywhere, so it does not necessarily mean that this Albanian is bad, just as it does not necessarily mean that those Serbs on the plane are all good people. Okay, we don't agree with them and it's clear to you. But .... there is always that .... but. I am a Serb who lives in Croatia and I know very well what hatred is and what the good human side is. It will always be hard to stand between those who hate you and those who are great people no matter what. But in the end, it always remains that I am proud to be a Serb because I want to offer only the best we have. And you know there's a lot of that. And so never disappoint in your decision to be on our side because we are basically a good and just people. I also hope that was the only reason for your decision to be a Serbian citizen. And of course, that's why many will hate you, but that's good too. When certain people hate you, it means you are very good. Good luck brother and I greet you with a great Serbian greeting that you put into use ..... OPA BATO !!!
Croatian and CROAT here. What you had as an answer is somehow "logic", the one I blame there is you in this situation. Let s try to understand my point of view, you are an American talking to ex Yugoslavians people about a tragedy that happend 20-30 years ago, people have lived it, may have lost relatives and someone coming from the US, pretending to know EX Yugoslavian cultures and way of thinking shows the reaction of someone pointing out the hatred. You may have Serbian citizenship, legally be Serbian but you are not a Serb, as I say to people or friends of mine that support Croatia..." This is not your business" someone not being from there, not having ancestry is not legit to talk about a life experience. There are also many people like you in Croatia, the Western guy "wanna be Ex Yu" talking about our feelings... It s just ridiculous, deepdown people here will always consider you as the foreigner that has sympathy for their country and so you will be welcomed but most of them think that it s not your problem.

Cool story brate. The last time i was at JFK it was December 20th 2020 and I met a Serbian guy who plays for Boston College O-line. If he makes it into the NFL he'll be the first Serbian to do it. I was so hyped i asked him for a selfie. The guy was like 2 meters and massive. I'm 195cm tall and for me he looked like a god. And then the day after I landed at Belgrade Nikola Tesla I saw him in Zrenjanin. I was at the gate in terminal 4 waiting to board the Air Serbia flight and the guy ate a whole Pizza by himself and of course he didn't wanna wear a mask. We were waiting in line for the check in and a lady asked him to put his mask on and he put it on for 5 seconds and then when she passes he took it off.

I'm just gonna say one thing. Kosovo means "field with a lot of grass" or "fertile land" in medieval Serbian, while Albanians say "kullote" for grassland, so a region that has been under Serbia for centuries, has been a part of first ever created Serbian state in 7th century under Vlastimirovich dynasty, has been a part of Serbian Despotate, Duchy, Kingdom and later Dushan's Empire, with over 26 monasteries and hundreds of churches from 13th and 14th century (when Islam was not a thing in Europe), with a population of 300.000 ethnic Serbs in the Northern and Southern parts of Kosovo & Metohija (Metohija means church's land reffering to Serbian Orthodox Church as that part of the country has most of religious monuments), and to claim that is Albanian is just ignoring historical facts.
I understand the Serbian historical perspective on Kosovo, but you should really conduct more research. The region of Kosovo was covered by the Illyrian Kingdom of Dardania during 393 BC - 28 BC. ‘Dardania’ in Albanian literally means “land of pears” (darda - pear), while I don’t think that means anything in Serbian. ‘Dardania’ is sometimes used by Albanians even today when referring to the region. It was inhabited only by a Thraco-Illyrian population (Illyrians being the historical ancestors of Albanians) for millennium until the South Slavic (Serbian) invasions and settlements of the region during 600 A.D - 700 A.D. Also, don’t forget that Albanians were Christian people before the Ottoman Invasion, so those churches could easily be Albanian medieval ones. It makes sense why Albanians want their native land back, especially after the horrific crimes that Serbs have committed against the Albanian population for centuries.
Do you hitchhike on the island? I hitchhiked to Chappaquiddick Island 🏝 as it’s long way from Vineyard Haven vacation home. My mom meets up with her Boston College alumni at a house there, but now she’s too frail to walk.
I don’t think it would be a big deal to me sitting next to someone from Albania or Kosovo I never tie politics into any interaction. What happened sucked but I try to look past all that conflict. I’d be more curious about that persons story and where they came from and how. I dunno 🤷🏻♂️ I generally speak more to other foreigners on planes then my own Serb people I guess I know my people there’s no curiosity.
What I don't get is, Charles, did they let him out of the country (RS) with his 'Kosovo' home printed passport? Is that now recognized in Serbia for international travel and crossing the border? Also.. the guy lays down his 'Kosovo' passport. Charles: 'oh look, you are Serbian, too!' P.S. That добро јутро sounded exactly how I would say that.. but in Russian 'доброе утро'!
Just star to watch this video, you said that you have to walk for a mile - I am traveling a lot in europe and I usually don't use any kind of transport, I walk to see all, my longest walk was in Moscow, I have walked 54kilometers (33.4) miles in one day.
Ako te diraju samo prst u oko I opa bato 🤣🤣🤣

What you had as an answer is somehow "logic", the one I blame there is you in this situation.

Nobody needs the croatian point of view now go mind your own business.

Until this 'virus' came along we played soccer matches against each other or even mixed teams without any animosities whatsoever.
