- Nothing beats a long hike through the forests with friends! We walked from Vrdnik all the way to Besanovo Monestary through the beautiful forests of Frudka Gora.

Just one correction, monastery was built in 13th century ( 1200s) but the earliest saved historical records about it are from 1500s. The king that built it was Stefan Dragutin and he was King of Serbia from 1276 to 1282.

was in hike about a month ago, took mother nature for granted and went deep. encountered a boar with herd ... he nearly got me but my dog charged him 3 times , fearless .... saved me and died..😭 .... rip Devil, il never forget you boy..............no mobile signal there , if he had cut my legs,, would bleed out fast, would be dead meat . althou smaller mountain, fruska gora is not to be fcked with

Did you know that at the beginning of World War II, Croatian Ustashe rode horses into the church of the Novi Jazak Monastery and tore apart the remains ("mosti") of our Emperor Uros (Uros Nejaki, 14th century)? The remains of Emperor Uros (mosti) are still kept in the Jazak Monastery today. In 1942, the Partisans (Communists) set fire to the monastery's lodgings.
