For HK, I feel that this is sadly only possible for people who are well-off financially and have a lot of money. My partner is from HK, I have visited countless times and it also feels like home to me, but because we both don't have much money we decided he must move to EU instead. Otherwise I would love to try and move to HK but for people like us of the lower/middle class it seems impossible :( It sucks but this is not talked about enough. Either foreigners moving to HK have a lot of money or they get good job offers that allow them to live there
Is it easier to live in europe if you don't have enough money? Can you give us more details please on how it is easier for you? Of course if it is okay with you.
I studied abroad in Korea for a year and I’m so thankful for the daily life habits I picked up from my time there. I really miss it and want to go back and stay a little longer 😊
London felt like home, as a broke American that is absolutely never going to be home. But I got it for a few days and it was the best life I’ve ever lived.
Honestly though everything is so much easier and simpler in Hong Kong. In USA it takes 20 minutes to get to a grocery store while in HK it takes like 5 minutes, convenience store is literally next to your apartment. You literally don't even need a car to get anywhere. Transportation is so much easier and rarely breaks down. :'D
Hello, Taylor! Hoping you and your little family are doing so well. I was wondering if you wanted to make a video again if you could do something really easy going for you like a compilation of best places in Hong Kong to visit/traditions. I always loved when you talked to the people and businesses there- it feels like I traveled through space even though I am at opposite end of the globe. Anyway, it always inspired me and makes me want to visit so it would be so cool to see your top highlights!
I agree with the 90 day theory. I lived in Bangkok for 3 years and even still now at home in England I still make similar gestures or say certain expressions or phrases in Thai. Luckily for me that my city has a lot of Thai people here so it doesn’t feel that weird and I’ve had some great conversations
Unrelated but it just hit me that I've been following you for 8 years now. Crazy how things have changed. I often think about that video of you and your friend doing a picnic on a beach in Japan, knowing it was going to be one of the last time you'd all get to hang out together
Hi Taylor, love your daily outfits. They are simple but still look chic. Can you make videos introducing some of your fav brands and items that you often wears? Thanks!
I wish when I was younger I had gone to Japan. I already moved coasts. My life was flying to see my friends and grandma's on east coast. I built my business in California. I'd love to travel now. Living there? I could. I love NYC... I love the energy of being out and about. But I love living a mile from the beach. Scott is from Hawaii; being Japanese he wants to see where his family is from in Japan and Okinawa.
I felt like this about my year in Japan, except that I tried to avoid foreigners as much as possible and all my friends were Japanese. The biggest compliment I received from a friend one day was that she often forgot I wasn’t Japanese 🥰
I remember her not liking it. Both her and elbowsan just weren't integrating the way they wanted to. Taylor kept having more and more trouble getting modelling work because she doesn't speak Japanese fluently. These are just what i remember from vlogs
Community is key...had friends work abroad and never got these connections....they hated it and came home.
This is me right now. I moved to the hardest country to make friends. It’s been 3 years and I’m thinking about leaving
@@robertplantcirca1973are u in Japan?
What if even at home you don't have a community/friends ?
@@robertplantcirca1973Same! It’s been 3,5 years. It can be so difficult.
@@MsPaulisacould also just be the place or its culture, not you which is an unlucky situation.
Having a good community/friends etc is so important whether you choose to live abroad or not. It can really make or break the experience.
So happy for you and the path you took in life. Such a joy and inspiration.

I get to my grocery store in 2 minutes, it all depends on how close you live to it (country makes no difference) wtf
@corrado american zoning laws prioritize car transportation
Thanks for the tip 😊
Hong Kong is a really fantastic place and you feel good there as a foreigner.

I just wonder... Do you ever have time for yourself, when you are not making videos?
#1 Learn the language
I just wanna ask, how was the environment in the city in 2019? Maybe your goverment might censor this.
