Series X is one of the most compelling arguments against owning a pc. The problem is most of it is also accessible on pc. So the only way to get out of the situation is to buy a ps5. But then you’re at the mercy of Sony and now you have a PlayStation sitting on your desk or your entertainment center. You can at least feel good about yourself with one of the others.
Yes, it would be great if MS made their next console a standardised PC with a streamlined Windows 12. It's crazy you have to buy virtually the same hardware twice, or pay $500 for a gaming console then another $500 for a desktop PC. If effort was put into the joining the two with the same hardware you'd get significantly more for your $1000.
One nice thing about consoles and why I stay with them is really just cause it’s straight forward, just plug and play and the whole point of physical media

The great thing about pc is if your build costs over 2k you'll save alot of money in the long run with steam sales(which are the best) and not having to pay for online
Whilst it's definitely the best way to play a lot of games, the depreciation of highend pc hw is high. Exclusives tend to come 1 to 2 years after console, you also tend to get less optimized versions. For most people 5 to 10 games per year is about right
I’m a tinkerer so I thought I would love PC gaming. I liked building it, and setting up a room for it, but I always went back to my console. What I learned is that I prize simplicity above all else. I will say this for PC, I went big with my build and modern games still look great even 7 years later.

i dont think a 800 dollar Pc is enough. On paper yes you can come close to the X, but ill bet the 800 dollar pc will have strong fps drops and you will be forced to play on low specs for good perfomance. With the X it just works and the graphics are amazing.
Both consoles struggle a lot to pump 4K@60fps. But the PC build needs a GPU with at least 12GB VRAM to match the console performance, 3060 is not going to cut it.
@@Nikzmat Currently GPU's and consoles don't run 4k native. 4k stuff is rendered in 1440p on better GPUs on PC, meanwhile on consoles, they render as low as in 850p lol during heavy scenes and upscale to 4k. On PC, "1440p card" is a card that renders in 960p and upscales to 1440p, "4k card" is one that renders in 1440p before upscaling to 4k.
Pc is all about powerful hardware and T'flops are never mentioned 😂 nobody even knows what that is. Hardware is not measured in that. I don't count the "t'flops" in my 4090

I'm very interested in trying the PC lifestyle after giving my son my Series X after his Series S took a crap. I just can't see myself in spending $500-450 for it 4 years into it's lifecycle. If it had a price drop like previous generations at like $350 I would get another one, but I'm really looking into PC gaming where I can also play PC and PlayStation games
Never skimp on power supply. There's nothing wrong with overkill on a PSU. Always leave plenty of headroom for possible future demands. Personally, I won't touch a PSU that doesn't say Seasonic on it. The PSU is the least sexy, but hands down most crucial component of a build. Never skimp there.
problem with that is that when your PC gets older and RAM/CPU/GPU can't run games at whataever frame u desire u wanna upg and u want X CPU/GPU but guess what they are asking for min 850W but u got less than that but when u go and up that u need then to upg the motherboard and with that the RAM u have ain't supported by that motherboard and then u need a better cooler and there is more but u see?from 1 wrong move u jump into 4 more wrong ones and prop more expencive

I use my pc how I would use a console lol. I grew up with Nintendo, Sony, and also owned a 360. But then I got into pc gaming and saw the possibilities. I have my pc in my living room and use an xbox controller with it almost exclusively. I have a small wireless keyboard with a touchpad for when I need it.
I have a series x and i am very happy with it. I feel like i made the right choice knowing that gta 6 is coming to consoles. I dont have to wait longer for it to come out or wonder if my xbox series x will run gta 6.
Enjoy playing Cyberpunk and GTA VI on your XBOX when I can play literally every game I want on my PC, everything even from a decade ago, PlayStation exclusives and literally whatever you want. Not talking about mods and 🏴☠🏴☠🏴☠

Consoles are nice to have in a living room to play some games together but I will never consider a console anything more than that.

I've played on console since day one. It's great if you are parent on a budget and want to give your child a good gaming experience. As an adult I noticed a few weeks ago that PC gaming is much more graphically pleasing, and I don't have to pay Xbox $10 a month for playing a multiplayer game and all the other red tape that comes with the Xbox these days. So, pc is where I am and will stay at.
I bought a cheep 850w psu prob 8 years ago for £40 Quid and still going just must be lucky Running Amd 5600x Rtx 4070 Two m.2 drives 2 internal hdd's and 3 external hdd;s and An external dvd drive and rgb strips its done bloody well.
I'm not going to be creating art, music, videos, programming and a million other things on my Xbox. A PC that can play games the same as a console is automatically much better than a console.

Thanks to prices on components settling back down - PC is back to being a better decision in the long run over consoles. If you just want to get up and gaming and prefer controller over mouse/keyboard, buy a console. If you want a machine that will run modern titles past the lifespan of a console (typically about 5 years), can be upgraded, can be customized and gives you access to a vast array of Triple A games and independent games, build or buy a PC. Do not, however, buy a prebuilt PC from brands that use proprietary components. This will limit or sometimes completely ruin your ability to upgrade in the future. I built my current PC in 2017. Have upgraded the CPU and the GPU since the initial build. This thing will continue to play everything and anything I throw at it for a little bit longer. Side note: That PC case you guys chose is not only hideous but looks restrictive for airflow. There are much better options on the market for that price point. Shoulda used a Montech case.

Well 8GB GDDR6 is coming near the end so if you accept used then go for a rx 6800 they have 16GB of VRam and a ton of performance, they may be even better than the series x, used its like $300 or lower.
It was revealed that Microsoft pay around $700 for Series X hardware and assembly. They sell them for 500 at $200 loss which they hope to get back through sub services and game sales. I don’t see the need for a pc anymore when even rts are all coming to Xbox like AoE and AoM… Consoles are a far better experience imo but each to their own 🤷♂️
With xbox core for online you are gona need another 500 usd in the 5 year generation… + you pay more for games, you get less games, and you can’t upgrade, so you have to buy each gen. I don’t see why you would pay more for a xbox than a pc
You don't have to upgrade a new pc like you do a console (every few years and the entire thing), you can easily replace or upgrade parts. You get xbox AND Playstation games. You get much better visuals and a much higher frame rate. What do you mean you don't see the need anymore? On top of that you don't pay for online and can use your pc for other things as well

Pc has so many games Steam and early access there is epic,gog games,instant gaming and if you like older games those are preserved to run on windows 11 . I can get 11 games for the price of 1 console game and many of those games are bundles with multiple games. The buy in for a good PC that will last is 4 times the cost but after that upgrading is cheaper and games are cheaper and more interesting with tons of variety by Indie devs that do a lot of early access so it goes beyond just performance and cost. I do like having my X and ps5 and will still buy the next Xbox.

Xbox unfortunately requires a monthly subscription. The benefit of Xbox has always been the lack of cheaters with Xbox one, however that too has been an ongoing issue as cross play becomes more common and is enabled by default. PC has the issues of inconsistent compatibility from game to game with hardware, and the double edged sword is you can cheat in any game if you want to, but so can everyone else. This makes cheaters inescapable. The biggest benefit however for PC is that games are free, if you know where to look and how to do so.
I'm going to stick to Playstation and consoles in general. Yes you can't "upgrade" them, but don't have to really deal with outright cheaters and viruses from stealing games. 😀

I made a better PC than Xbox series x with similar price, I bought 12400f cpu along with the motherboard and 16GB ram which cost $200 which in offer u can get for even less, The GPU like rx 7600 can cost around $200 and power supply, cabinet and SSD can cost around $100 or little more. Windows genuine copy can be bought for cheap price else you can use it free without theme customisation and with activation logo displayed. keyboard or mouse can cost little extra like $20 or controller with $50 but this pc can do much more than Xbox. This comes around $500 little less or more.

I got my 1st PC 15 years ago. The only thing that has not been changed is the case. Everything got upgraded a few times and I use it for other purposes besides video games. Best part, if something breaks I can fix it myself and before the end of the work day. So PC will always remain the master race.

Building a pc as good as Xbox series X, the games could run better in the Xbox because the games are much more optimized.
Developers have a much easier time optimizing for a console than PC .

In the long run its always cheaper to build your own machine. Particularly if you're gaming on Proton.

I've played on console since day one. It's great if you are parent on a budget and want to give your child a good gaming experience. As an adult I noticed a few weeks ago that PC gaming is much more graphically pleasing, and I don't have to pay Xbox $10 a month for playing a multiplayer game and all the other red tape that comes with the Xbox these days. So, pc is where I am and will stay at.
I bought a cheep 850w psu prob 8 years ago for £40 Quid and still going just must be lucky Running Amd 5600x Rtx 4070 Two m.2 drives 2 internal hdd's and 3 external hdd;s and An external dvd drive and rgb strips its done bloody well.
the premise is stupid, there is no point spending more on a pc if you only get console level of power - either get a better pc or buy a console

Thanks to prices on components settling back down - PC is back to being a better decision in the long run over consoles. If you just want to get up and gaming and prefer controller over mouse/keyboard, buy a console. If you want a machine that will run modern titles past the lifespan of a console (typically about 5 years), can be upgraded, can be customized and gives you access to a vast array of Triple A games and independent games, build or buy a PC. Do not, however, buy a prebuilt PC from brands that use proprietary components. This will limit or sometimes completely ruin your ability to upgrade in the future. I built my current PC in 2017. Have upgraded the CPU and the GPU since the initial build. This thing will continue to play everything and anything I throw at it for a little bit longer.
Side note: That PC case you guys chose is not only hideous but looks restrictive for airflow. There are much better options on the market for that price point. Shoulda used a Montech case.
completely wrong choice is terms of psu....a 550 or 650 watt psu 80+ bronze will be enough and can reduce cost upto more 50 usd

Well 8GB GDDR6 is coming near the end so if you accept used then go for a rx 6800 they have 16GB of VRam and a ton of performance, they may be even better than the series x, used its like $300 or lower.
It was revealed that Microsoft pay around $700 for Series X hardware and assembly. They sell them for 500 at $200 loss which they hope to get back through sub services and game sales. I don’t see the need for a pc anymore when even rts are all coming to Xbox like AoE and AoM… Consoles are a far better experience imo but each to their own 🤷♂️
With xbox core for online you are gona need another 500 usd in the 5 year generation… + you pay more for games, you get less games, and you can’t upgrade, so you have to buy each gen. I don’t see why you would pay more for a xbox than a pc
You don't have to upgrade a new pc like you do a console (every few years and the entire thing), you can easily replace or upgrade parts. You get xbox AND Playstation games. You get much better visuals and a much higher frame rate. What do you mean you don't see the need anymore? On top of that you don't pay for online and can use your pc for other things as well

I pay around 1000 for a pc every 7 to 9 yrs. My pcs always out perform the console generation at the time of build and i dont have to pay for online gaming as well as having my entire game library

When it was time to buy a new pc, I seriously considered getting a console for only the new stuff and using pc for backlog and classic games.
As long as people are having fun gaming that's really all that matters

There's as a rule that also works as today. Sounds like "Take a PC for 1K bucks and you'll be fine". Strange that the author didn't apply AMD because consoles are actually made by AMD. And it'll be cheaper.
Pc has so many games Steam and early access there is epic,gog games,instant gaming and if you like older games those are preserved to run on windows 11 . I can get 11 games for the price of 1 console game and many of those games are bundles with multiple games. The buy in for a good PC that will last is 4 times the cost but after that upgrading is cheaper and games are cheaper and more interesting with tons of variety by Indie devs that do a lot of early access so it goes beyond just performance and cost.
I do like having my X and ps5 and will still buy the next Xbox.
One of the many reasons why I have and will stay a console gamer.

Console gaming is better than PC Gaming in a long run.PC gaming requires tedious upgrading overtime.Not all games run well or run at all on Steam.
A good tier PC would cost you $800 - $1000 but even with that it won’t guarantee it would run.I also like how many try to diverge from the cost when that is in fact how much you would need to spend in order for it to be a smooth experience.

It’s been a year since I left PC,I haven’t had much problems with my PS5 and Series X.I ended up refusing to upgrade my desktop after almost spending a chunk of money on a graphics card for only for the “latest” card to release.

Xbox unfortunately requires a monthly subscription. The benefit of Xbox has always been the lack of cheaters with Xbox one, however that too has been an ongoing issue as cross play becomes more common and is enabled by default.
PC has the issues of inconsistent compatibility from game to game with hardware, and the double edged sword is you can cheat in any game if you want to, but so can everyone else. This makes cheaters inescapable. The biggest benefit however for PC is that games are free, if you know where to look and how to do so.

I made a better PC than Xbox series x with similar price, I bought 12400f cpu along with the motherboard and 16GB ram which cost $200 which in offer u can get for even less, The GPU like rx 7600 can cost around $200 and power supply, cabinet and SSD can cost around $100 or little more. Windows genuine copy can be bought for cheap price else you can use it free without theme customisation and with activation logo displayed. keyboard or mouse can cost little extra like $20 or controller with $50 but this pc can do much more than Xbox. This comes around $500 little less or more.

I got my 1st PC 15 years ago. The only thing that has not been changed is the case. Everything got upgraded a few times and I use it for other purposes besides video games. Best part, if something breaks I can fix it myself and before the end of the work day.
So PC will always remain the master race.
If you're willing to pay big and be patient on waiting for games to come to the platform last, then there's a few advantages for sure.
