Heya... just wanna say thank you for the content...and hello from Malaysia! ... I was like you when I started my UA-cam channel 1 year ago... not knowing the direction and all but it sort comes into place as it goes along... LOL but I love your vibe and your style brother! and BECUZ of u I went ahead and got my Oxelo Freeride Hardboot MF500 skates and I am loving it... I use to skates in 1995 when I was skating for K2 Malaysia but now being 42 started picking it up together with my wife and family... and becuz of u I bought 2 pairs of Freeride Hardboot for both wife and I and another 2 pairs for my kids. Reason why I got my family involved because it is easier to put 4 pair of skates in the car den 4 bicycles LOL ... and becuz of you I am getting my neighbours and friends to buy skates as well!
But I have to say skate shops / brands should start giving u products for review as it helps a lot of ppl...for me especially... Thanks again for ur recommendation on the Oxelo and I bought with confidence and no regrets and am enjoying my wheel time with it. Much love from Malaysia and keep on doing what you LOVE and ignore any haters if any... LOL

Great video Richard. Back ground music appropriate. Congrats on 3000 subscribers to your channel. So need to learn the sliding stop turn. You can’t rely on the rear rubber stopper on inlines, like you could with squad skates, back in their day. Speaking the obvious: Now the light nights are upon us the wets dried up skating seasons returns. Difficult skating for many people straight from your door stop, so a drive is often necessary to long smooth cycle ways/tarmac footpaths. Trying not to put fear into pedestrians is always a concern especially if your own stopping skills aren’t the best.
Thanks Dude! Yeah I used to use my stoppers all the time on quads! Stopping skills are so important, you wanna make sure and drill them as a priority, they give you so much confidence. 👍
Hi Rich, I love your skating style, it's smooth but powerful too, I always enjoy your videos. How can you powerslide so easily on those rough surfaces? I know it's a technique matter but I would ask if you use some special wheels in particular or you simply put a lot of power in the braking movements. I'm a beginner and I'm trying to learn with a soul slide first but I can't manage to make the foot slide even a bit...
You need to get really low. Try pushing it to the side instead on to the front. Ouch with your heel. 👍

I've got a pair of oxelo fit 100 on the way to give skating a go, I used to ice skate as a youngster and am hoping some of that residual skill translates, if I get into it I will definitely be treating myself to some nicer kit and maybe even integrate skating into my commute

These seem a solid choice for your first skates. There will be more in your future, trust me! Take it slow, don’t expect to be an expert immediately. If you stick with it, you won’t regret it. 👍
@@RichHayterSkater update, the fit 100s are going back, unfortunately the left skates frame is warped to the point its genuinely impossible not to skate on the outside edges, gonna order a set of the mf 500s in the yellow I didn't fancy once the return is done, I'll take a less nice colour scheme if they roll properly!
I’m surprised, have always found the quality to be good. You won’t go wrong with a set of MF500s anyway.
How likely are you to pick 3x instead of 4x when going out for skating? I feel like I could use some 3x speed sometimes. 4x is too much work! :D
It really just depends on how I feel on the day. My default is 4x80, but if I just wanna spend an hour or so ripping around the place, I lace up these bad boys! 🔥🔥
