You could put a door on the back so you could use it as a dino trap. The dino chases you inside then you exit the door, run around and close the gate. You could put the door on the back and then build a small sidewalk around to the gate door.
Nice design you've got, thanks for sharing. I just wanted to mention that you don't have to do the old ASE pillar and fence foundation to lower foundations anymore. With the new ASA build mechanics you can use the cursor keys to raise them up and down after the first click when placing them (same time as when you can rotate the structure). Saves some time and resources and it's also very handy for base building on slightly bumpy ground to minimise having to split your foundations over two levels.
Thanks! Yeah I found out this way shortly after making this vid. The only thing I don't like it you kind of have to eyeball it more to try to line the foundation up straight. I can see where it would be useful though for sure.😄

Fantastic tutorial. This is the first one I’ve ever seen that made me actually want to give it a try. I had to make one slight adjustment with the fence foundation placement but it turned out the same as yours. The field of view isn’t the best, but I can’t see many designs being better. All in all, I’m pleased with my new boat. It was big enough to tote my raptor around, as well as picking up a carby, two iguanodons, and a dilo. I think I’m going to adapt this into a cargo ship for bringing back, more/larger tames as well
This boat build was great, thanks again!! Just made a few adjustments to it to make the best out of it, decided to build out two ceilings wide to have my flying tames on top then have my land dinos in the rear. great build all together

I was looking for something to build to safely transport my dinos. Looks like this is it! In the rear section I made it one more tile wide and long to fit more dinos in it. The only thing I might have to play with is adding a roof in the rear to protect from the air; although so far it's only been Ichthyornis that have attacked. In "K" mode I can zoom out farther to see better and see underwater, though I can't steer in that mode. I tried putting wall torches on the inside vertical walls to light it up and even a campfire but they don't seem to provide any light, only my handheld torch does. If curious, I put two storage cabinets on the inside walls, four more smaller storage boxes on each side, and still fit three Raptors, two Lystros, and an Ichythornis, then just me and my trusty shouldered Dimorphodon at the helm. In the back: two Stegos, two Sabertooths, an Argentavis, and a Perasaur. I would like to fit my other dinos in there too but I might just take two trips.
Yeah, I feel like this build is good for a specific dino/dinos with a specific purpose or task you're going to do. If you're trying to move a whole base worth of dinos there's other designs that would be a little bit better at it. That's pretty great how many dinos you are able to fit in there though!
@Fynixmech I ended up adding a ceiling using hatch openings for light one level below gate height except for one tile in the center closest to the oar so that I could see where I was going. Then added a small door to one side of the gate to get out of since it's all enclosed now. Worked great! This build reminds me of armored boats from the Civil War era.
I’m doing this on ps5 and it was a little different at the start you can’t place a foundation on the pillar at the middle you have to move it closer to the side of the raft it took a couple tries but once I was able to place 3 foundations it was a go from there I appreciate the help took me 4 hours but it’s finished 😅

I was able to place one behind the tiller as shown, but not that one rear spot. odd Also, having a really hard time using stone roofs for the aft ramps. It's possible on some servers with certain settings gates may not be able to be placed past a certain update. I haven't been able to test it since then but I will test soon.
Most won't. Some dinos can destroy stone, but it's not very many of them. Every one's like the theri can destroy stone, but you can knock it out before it breaks the boat.
I turned off my motion blur. It seemed to help, but the last update made things really weird. You just gotta try a bunch of things out and see what works.
If this method doesn't work, you can adjust the height by moving forward or back once you click to place down a foundation. There's a step in between before it is set.
That's stinks...I keep hearing it doesn't work on console it seems. Or maybe it's something they just changed. They change alot in the beginning based on the players.
First thing you should do is change your server settings. Js this is never mentioned in these videos this ain’t official settings it’s been modified why doesn’t anyone ever even mention this in these build videos?
I did mention it in the first 30 seconds of the video and it was done on a dedicated server with official settings. Which is why I had trouble placing some things. I try to be as transparent as I can in my videos and always try to troubleshoot if people have a problem. Not my fault if people don't read or miss steps in the videos 🫠 Problem with official is if people abuse something the devs usually change it, which would make something not work. I usually put any changes in the description if that's the case.

In what way?
I cannot place a dinosaur gate on a platform. is this an update or am I missing something?
It's possible on some servers with certain settings gates may not be able to be placed past a certain update. I haven't been able to test it since then but I will test soon.
I cant place the foundation under the pillar
Place it to the side of it.
@@Fynixmech That, placing it to the side, doesn't allow the bigger raft mod.
Newbie here.... wont dinos just tear down the stone? Im confused
Most won't. Some dinos can destroy stone, but it's not very many of them. Every one's like the theri can destroy stone, but you can knock it out before it breaks the boat.
Not getting the snap point directly underneath the pillar
It doesn't work on console. You have to do it manually.
Can somebody help me out with the raft and platform settings. My dinos will not go onto them at all they just slide off
I’ve got the same issue, no dinos stay on the raft, only flying tames. Just started out on Xbox
@TheWilko95 and the video quality looks terrible too I'm getting this acid
trippy thing going when I'm flying or rotate the camera really quick
I turned off my motion blur. It seemed to help, but the last update made things really weird. You just gotta try a bunch of things out and see what works.
Turning off the motion blur and a few of the console commands from other vids worked for me, running about 60-70fps, still not great but playable
@TheWilko95 it's disgusting that se plays better. The graphics are gorgeous but they said this was supposed to replace se
dose this work in ark se
No because alot of these pieced don't exist on ase.
Does this work for ps
It's should. They may have changed something with gates being allowed on rafts though.
Does it work in ark mobile??
No
I need to move a spino bro😂
Can make the platform in the back larger...you'd just have to take down a wall to bring it in and out.
I can’t even get the first snap point, what am I doing wrong?
Seems it's different on console.
@@Fynixmech care to provide a way around????
Could just sink the foundation by eyeballing it manually. Foundations have that ability now.
Then a Leeds attacks
Stay close to the beaches and you'll be fine
you know your discord links been invalid for like a year right
I've updated it recently, it should work.
It doesn’t work how u sink the foundations
If this method doesn't work, you can adjust the height by moving forward or back once you click to place down a foundation. There's a step in between before it is set.
Amén hallelujah mi amor ❤️
Doesn't work on console
And then an alpha leeds 2 hits you

Pve af
Yeah...pvp players have their own methods...usually just an argy.
In play 5 no
Yeah doesn't seem to work on console.
False. False. False. GATES AREN'T PLACEABLE ON RAFTS. I'm sick of these vids
So how did I do it then? I literally just posted another video where I could place a gate down on a raft.
I just placed them ps5 had to enable snap. Managed to build it
Well that's a lie cause I did that whole build
Built this today works well on ps5, bit hard to see over the enclosure while driving not sure if I can zoom out more.
You were able to build out 4 from the rudder?
@@Alastors_biggest_fan yes
@@kiwibird8441 how?
@@kiwibird8441 I can only build 3 out from the rudder
