Hello, there is an island at which I'm stuck, i have to get on top for a treasure but i can't find a way, i tried with different players from raft discord, still couldn't find a way to get on it, maybe you can help and make a video too ? I would love it
The debris field is 26 tiles wide. Also, when actually playing the game and increasing your nets, it is best to start putting your nets every other tile. It will give you greater reach and it will be rare for debris to slip between two nets.
For those who don't know: - You can start off with the standard cheaper planks and upgrade them later as it just saves a lot of planks and plastic for when you just start. - The debris flow is 26 wide so even when you are not going straight anymore (after you hit something) 27 or 28 nets is more then enough as the nets are expensive enough as it is, especially in the beginning. - The pattern of the triangle plank can be changed with the "Z" key so all the lines go the same way (R for rotate and Z for flipping the pattern). - I always use triangle floors so I can get rid of all the poles below, but be careful with this because when you had to rotate your plank for the pattern to continue the placement of the traingle can chang which can have an effect on the painting patterns. - I also like to put my ceilings at 1 1/2 pole high as it feels way less cramped above your head. You then can use 3 half walls to have more creativity space for when you want to paint them or you can use a whole wall with a half wall on top. I really do like what you made here, looks really nice and you can get everything on.
First time playing this game and the line pattern was why I was even looking at this guide and like three others. I thought it absurd that they would force me to contend with line patterns that were in perpendicular directions. Thankfully they thought of that too. It is crazy it took all of that, and finding YOUR comment, that finally got me the information that I needed; "Hit the Z Key"! 😃
It seems you an fire up the console and show the attack probability via command. And the highest attack chance on a normal rectangular raft is the corners (I believe 25% chance) and the surrounding edges at 5%. I can't tell how this exactly is weightes / calculated in the engine - as the numbers add obviously up to something above 100. You have an even higher risk with single pieces standing out from your raft (this is, where the put one armored piece every 4 tiles comes in). So you can build something like 'sacrificial tiles' where the chance is greatest for Bruce to attack. You can use this to minimize damage on your nets or if you are out for some delicious shark meat.

being I am done with the game am in a building phase and love videos like this as you learn neat little tricks you might not have known or thought about!
First video I've seen of Raft that actually makes me want to play! Most raft vids I've seen don't feature a lot of building, and I knew there was building in the game, but thought it was really basic. this looks awesome! Gonna have to try it!
The beginning was great. The decoration made my anxiety hate you. Everything was crooked, the cluttered table. Ugh. But this was a fantastic tutorial. Thank you.
I think that this would be more of a late game raft, I have already beat the game three times, and even with the materials on all three rafts combined, I wouldn't have enough, or I would be really low on materials afterwards. But other than that, still a great raft.
@@RyeGamesOfficial it does look awesome but by the time you have all the materials gathered you're probably not too far away from engines and basically need to redesign.. quite alot. still awesome :)
This guy puts so much effort into every video and never falls behind schedule, he deserves so much more attention than he has at the moment, unfortunately his target audience is quite small as there aren't as many people interested in Raft as in Minecraft for example. Keep it up Rye!
OK ngl I haven't played any games in a long while, but with the update coming in just a few days and seeing this video, it's making me excited to jump back into the game and apply a lot of these awesome ideas into my raft. Thank you so much for all the lovey videos!
I was looking for a good Raft channel with fun vids, tutorials, good quality video n that still uploads. Yt recomended me urs and it's by far the best raft channel ive seen
Not really a "starter raft" when building with unlimited resource though. At the start of the game, having enough resources for basic rubbish stuff is hard work, never mind starting with reinforced flooring right off the bat :s
Fun fact about the globe: if you look closely at it, it appears that Maya/Rouhi has painted over a normal modern globe with blue paint to show that all the continents have been flooded.
I like a lot of ideas in this video. i think, at least for myself, it's more fun to use some ideas/strategies/inspiration from this video, rather than copy it tile for tile. but that's just me.
''Starter raft'' its 192 wood, 256 rope and 64 nails for the collecters alone. if by 'starter' you mean half way through the game then sure. but really cool raft, good design.
This is not a starter raft. It's already consumed about 20 times the materials I have in total after an ingame week or 2. All the extra bits and pieces look nice, but when you're struggling just to keep yourself fed, watered and replacing tools while growing the raft and beginning smelting, they consume unneccessary and valuable supplies. Perhaps just a different definition of 'starter'. (I realise a couple of weeks is still very early game)
So much efforts taken to engage viewer's till end , obviously it's not gona help at the starter player they won't go for decoration & that all resources for so much construction The video is really nice & your voice also brother...!,👍
I find theas videos ridiculous they all say here is the perfect starter raft then proceed to make something huge in creative it's like they don't know what starter means you wold ha e to play for howers on survival to get enough material for theas rafts and I you are going to do creative or peaceful you don't need to worry about starter
The cheapest way in early game is to surround the edges of your raft with nets every other tile and put one regular raft-tile in front of it. So that your net is surrounded with normal tiles from all 4 cardinal directions. Tiles jotting out from the main rectangle of your raft are more likely getting attacked for one, and they are also way cheaper to repair / replace - especially when you have nets and can collect basic materials on the go.
Nets are cool and all but sadly not needed. With many dupe opportunities in a multitude of ways ... nets are nothing. You can however build that raft in about the length of time of the video.
If this were a true starter raft, it wouldn't be upgraded wood items at all. Cute raft, but definitely not the perfect starter. Should maybe rethink the title and get that keyword out of there.

Very cool design & good walk-through for building an attractive mid- to late-game raft.

I am curious to see how long this woudl take you to build in a fresh survival world. I cant say my starter looked anything like this xD
If you make 'em 32 wide, you won't be able to navigate in ice. You also only need one every other space, stuff between gets dragged in automatically.
i would make this achievable for starters
