U're right man !!! for me too..😁... try "State of Grace"-JP with Liquid Tension..😏... But always the same with JP, even with a simple note, what a feeling !!! ..
My favorite DT/guitar solo of all time. Seriously. And I've heard their entire discography, the Guthrie Govans, Shawn Lanes, Tosin, Satriani, Vai, Hendrix etc.. but this just ressonates with me in a way I can't explain
Mesmerising. Love the lacquer finish on his guitar. This has to be up there as one of the best guitar solos. The feelings it evokes are perfect for the song.
If I recall correctly, this one was just a prototype that he used during the end of the Octavarium tour and for tracking of this record, prior to the release of the actual BFR models (which don’t have the pickup rings). I remember being thrown off by it too...seeing as how he always very proudly announced that his pickups were direct-mounted, even back in his Ibanez days, in the Rock Discipline video, he talks about the direct-mounted pickups.
probably mixing/mastering magic. guitar solo is kinda like a lead vocalist, honestly, so however they get vocals to stand out in a mix is gonna be similar to a solo guitar
This is the best Repentance solo cover 👍
This might be the only JP solo I can learn :)
Good luck then...

@@maximor2503 yeah, it's easy technically, but the hard part is the feeling and tone. it's gotta be super musical, or else it sounds like crap.
Try wither
@@nks3626 try best of times 😆
It's John Petrucci. He can do vibrato with his mind so don't any of you dare ask that again
😂 i noticed that too. dear god, the man is talented
0:56 Always gives me goosebumps.
That last lick is so Opeth I love it
Petruccis most underrated solo for sure!
One of his best solos ever. I like that besides being a monster scale master, John can do tasty stuff like this as well.
Definitely one of the most outstanding solos by JP.
And underestimated
Jordan Peterson I'm sure doesn't play guitar
perfect cover!
😂🤣

I loved This sólo Master Petrucci
Opeth feeling?)
Totally!
On the spoken part before the solo you can also hear Akerfeldt's voice
@@GollumeSmigol Really?)
@@Gevoltful Yes! Try it out. He is also credited on the back of the album
even the synth in the background
One of my favorites.

0:54 Where’s the vibrato in the bend? It’s the new ghost vibrato.
Brilliant as always!!! Mr. Petrucci!!🤘
Yeahhh. JP can not only shred. Great feeling here! Love it 🤘🏻🔥
The Master he is. Great post!
Te amo Petrucci!!
for me this is the one of dream theater best solo section ever
How about the actual video footage of JP doing the guitar parts in The Best of Times? I'd really love to see that video.
Simplemente Awesome
I cry every time
Sublime.
The best in action.
I love petrucci. 🥰😍🤩
Great!
Great solo. So much emotion and feel. Definitely reminds me of David Gilmore. Too bad the take in the video isn't what we hear in the audio
OPETH.
Better than DT

Hermoso
Super rola pocas veces tocada en vivo
lindo esse solo
Thanks
1:06 And JP turns to a squirrel.
Yep that's a wrap, " any steak left guys ?"
One of the great solo's ever and he is playing it like it's nothing, pure greatness and talent !!!
If John keeps it going he may have a real future in this🐐
Было время.....Петруччи играл интересную музыку, умные и красивые соло
Да, старые соло красивше были
The one and only master of the guitar. Perfect playing and writing skills.
I like the headset
❤
He is God
He is my inspiration but he ain't God.
@@duankamei47 he IS the GOD

Very weird to see a JP EBMM model with pickup rings

0:53 how did he do that vibrato?
probably several takes put together
@@NoahLinebarrier it's just that the video isn't from the final take
i love this pink floydish solo:)
Alguém manja fazer esse preset no guitar rig 6?
You're looking at one take and hearing another.
It's like looking God creating somethings....
do you have repentence vocals only?
Beside the Mark V which is another amp he was using on this record?
in just one take? wow
Of course not
"Ain Petrucci não tem feeling" isso é o que então??
how does he achieve those overtones that cut through the mix?
probably mixing/mastering magic. guitar solo is kinda like a lead vocalist, honestly, so however they get vocals to stand out in a mix is gonna be similar to a solo guitar
is he using lone star here?
It is tasty* not nasty :D
Lol, its tasty
Il joue pas mal ce jeune homme dis donc, il devrait se laisser pousser la barbe...
boring
