Appreciate this Dan . I've got to do this on my f430. I bought my car 4 years ago and the reason I got the 430 over a Gallardo was all your videos! Thanks again.
Mirror opposite. I bought my F430 (2008) because of Dan's great work, but now wish I'd bought a Gallardo! God awful cars. Trying to get rid of mine (uk). Poor workmanship at such a high price.
Hey Dan! Thanks for the video! We really appreciate it! Did not even realize it was you when you ordered! Thanks for the business and keep up the good work! Please let me know if you come across anything else you may need for future repairs!
Dan you are the man I need to do this to my Ferrari f430 and this video is timing is quite poignant. Thank you and I look forward to buying a car from you sometime in the future thinking GT40 man.
I bought the actual OEM replacement switch and has been waiting in a little box for me to replace. I had not heard about a kit. At the time I read up on it, it said to go through the opening of the stereo and rock the plug from the switch. It seems like a tight way to do it, but good to know you can get better access by removing the vent 👍🏻
FYI I bought the radio puller from Amazon (without any blue handle like yours, all metal) and they don’t work. They are too big and can’t insert into the radio. I gave up and had my shop do it. But thanks for the vid! Will try to find the blue handled ones next time I need to replace the other side
Are you back to preferring rubbing alcohol over borax? Or was this more for convenience? I used your borax tip on my first round of sticky button cleanup and it worked like a charm.
Wish i wouldve seen this b4 buying mine. Ill still get it for opposite side. Not installed yet as i been procrastinating. Will get kit and do both. Maybe save the new switch til its actually needed
2:00 Watching you work on the interior like that, I'm wondering if you'd do better for your filming and interior work, if you had a better stand for your camera, which will allow you to use both hands for more detailed interior work and it would stabilize your video. Fully realizing also you are working in a cars cramped interior, and it all can be difficult.
@@normalguysupercarFYI there's several "floating screen" radios that are a single din chassis but have a nice 9 inch screen and does Apple Car Play and Android Auto
“NOTE: Some versions of the switch have two different size pivots. if yours does simply open up both pivot holes with the included 2.5mm drill bit, this can be done by hand. “
@@normalguysupercarthey do look weird. Seems that you swapped left/right on accident. I just looked at a bunch of interior pics and they all have them opposite of how you have them. I suppose they could all be swapped L/R, but the way you have them also just looks wrong to my eyes. If you removed the switches and held them up to the window with the switch facing you, they would look backwards. That’s how my brain processes it anyway. Nice job, regardless
We fix these all the time with no kit. And, to orient, you don’t need to put them in the car, if you study the switch you will see the actuation points, if you study the button you will see the same, just match the two.
So today’s useless trivia fact is, when you’re using superglue put your hand in a regular zip lock bag which is low density poly etheylene and doesn’t stick to superglue which is liquid acrylic. You can hold things until they stick. 😊
You figure the amount of $$$ you pay for a Ferrari and the low miles on these cars, the switch’s should last a very long time, but like Enzo said, you’re not buying the car, you’re buying the engine
Jeezus Fuquin' Chryste Scooter....What a fuquin' bougie ass thing to say. You do know...or should know....that some people like to tinker no matter how much they have or don't have.
@@normalguysupercar Then you spend $160 again in 10 years. Right now, you have no real world evidence that the kit fix will last longer than the originals. We know the OEM switches will last 10 years or more. If you are storing your 430 outside in the sun when parked at your home, you probably can't afford a Ferrari. I don't mean to be snobbish, but its the heat and age that breaks down the switches. Age you can't change, but heat you can. Just buy new switches is my advise. They will look great and in 10 years, you'll need to replace them. Most people that own these cars won't even keep them for 5 years.
you would think as expensive these cars are, they would make interior to the highest quality, i have a friend san diego with one, like 95000 dollars same shit, buttons, come on man, for 10000 the interior shouldnt be like a hyundai

I think my window switches are probably the only things that haven't disintegrated thus far. Lucky me 😐
I think the 430 is significantly better than the Gallardo
Watching Dan work on Ferraris is why i subscribed from the beginning!
Thanks
I'll do this, looks like a very enjoyable diy and a good way to stop the switches from annoying me.
Yeah it's pretty simple
I did this a while back. Easy job.
Yeah it is

You bet, thanks for the great product. It really helps save some money

Interesting.
Hey Dan have you ever seen anybody move those window switchs to the drivers door. I would love to have mine in the door handle.
Hmmm no

I think this is the car a buddy in Orlando just bought. :)
Might be. 😁
Are you back to preferring rubbing alcohol over borax? Or was this more for convenience? I used your borax tip on my first round of sticky button cleanup and it worked like a charm.
This was for convenience. Borax is definitely better
it looks like you post on time all the DIY to fix my issues 😅
Good

Cool
Thanks for the video, well done! That switch kit also fits my 2006 Maserati GranSport. I have ordered the kit.
Yup

Yes, but the other problem is then where to put the camera and showing detail.
Satisfying watch
Thanks!
Still think you guys should do those carbon aero kits. Its simply fire, and cheap but better than oem production standards.
Agreed
How is Technical Josh doing these days? Any plans to do a video or two with him soon? Miss the quacks!
He's well.
Saw the police car parked out front, did it get fixed? Or just a decoy?
It's fixed
What kind of stereo can you replace it with something that does Apple play, hopefully?
Anything that's single din

Are new window switches still available from Ferrari?
Yup
And there was much rejoicing!
Yaaaaaay!!
Good trick, it’s like replacing the worn HVAC buttons on a Porsche
Ah, similar problem?
@@normalguysupercar No the coating comes off
What was drill bit purpose ?
I honestly don't know? For excitement?

Looks like a lot of cheap plastic in a very expensive toy.
Would love to own one though.
Keep up the fun content!
Indeed
Why did you reverse the switches? It looks weird.
That are the way the are supposed to be

I'm just surprised that a car as expensive as that has such cheap parts.
Eh, it's still a car

Brand new window switches are $160. If you can't afford $160, you shouldn't own a Ferrari.
Jeezus Fuquin' Chryste Scooter....What a fuquin' bougie ass thing to say. You do know...or should know....that some people like to tinker no matter how much they have or don't have.
Well, yes, but the new switches will get sticky and they will eventually break just like these did... So the repair is probably a better solution.
