Suggestion from a grandmother who has almost seventy years of child care experience. Divide toys into two or three units store two away and have one unit out for play. After a few months rotate to one of the other units, kids are so happy to play with the toys they haven’t seen awhile. If a child ignores a toy it’s just taking up space. Hopefully you have a place to store the toys.😅

Cash….#1. you’ve gotta use your vertical space….Shelving…bookcases….you’ll find you can put so much stuff on them by using nice wicker baskets for storage. #2. gotta make a game for the kids of putting their toys away at night before bed. trust me…it will help them later in life to learn to put stuff away. It’s not fair for you to have to do all of that and everything else you do. Just my two cents worth. 🙂

Yeah. The space is definitely enough for a family with 2 kids of the same sex. When the kids get older, that other room can definitely have 2 loft beds with desks underneath. There's an American family with 4 kids in Japan who vlogs as well (a tad on the religious side their content) and they make do with 3 bedrooms. You just have to limit your purchases. They definitely should visit IKEA in Japan for some space optimization ideas.

TV under the AC is why it died in the first place. The condensation caused by the AC messed it up. I know, we had the exact same problem. Moved TV to opposite wall and now 3 years later no trouble. The one that died was just 2 years old.

It's not about the condensation because the air conditioning remove condensation it's about the fact that the TV produces Heat and the air conditioning won't keep the room at the correct temperature. If the air conditioning gets plugged up it will leak water all over that TV and destroy it. Not a very clever UA-camr

That is what matters most. Also, I appreciate you explaining why it is more cost effective to stay where you are versus moving. The position of your TV under the mini split is going to be trouble. It's way too close. I would either move it down, or better, reverse the furniture arrangement and move that to the opposite wall so those two essential appliances are not interfering with each other.
Because you don't have enough to do, right?

I think the root cause of the problem is that it is too close to the mini split so it is building up condensation. You might want to drop it down a bit and put a shelf over top of it to help deflect airflow. Just a thought.

@@loriannrichardson7644 Nah, what happened was that Cash Jordan couldn't resist Japan's magnetic pull and so he jumped in like fish to water. Japan was so happy to have Cash Jordan that their cherry blossoms bloomed once again... in August. The problem was when Cash Jordan left New York, the skies turned black and blocked the sun. Trees died, flowers wilted, and the birds sang songs of sorrow. It was a very dark time. The mayor was flooded with phone calls from people in a panic demanding that Cash Jordan be brought back to New York, so the mayor tried reaching out to Cash Jordan but, understandably, Cash Jordan refused the mayor's phone calls, citing exorbitant rents and the high price of tomatoes. So what happened is that Taylor Swift got word of New York's demise and she stepped into action. Taylor flew to Japan in her invisible plane, determined to find Cash Jordan and his family, and lasso them back to New York. Taylor's secret weapon was she brought an endless stash of Skittles and the kids went crazy, not just for the Skittles but for Taylor's promise to fly the family back to New York in her invisible plane. It was a wrap. Cash Jordan and his family acquiesced and moved back home, and we New Yorkers are the better for it. So look outside. See the rainbows and sunflowers and tulips, and the birds singing songs of happiness. Oh, and the next time you smoke a joint, think about how Cash Jordan saved New York.

Cash! You have too many child-sized fingers in your house to have a brand-X paper shredder with all the protective plastic parts broken off. 9:03 Learn a new way to clear paper jams ... like, instead of trying to reverse the flow and pulling the paper out, get some fast food plastic utensils and use them to push the jam in. Or, better yet, get a bigger, stronger shredder that is jam-proof and has a sensor to turn it off if fingers get too close. Violet's and Eliza's fingers are worth the extra cost.

I imagined you'd have a super good deal, like a 4 bedroom, 2 bath, laundry in the apartment, sink sprayer, medicine cabinet, balcony apartment for $4,500. But I hadn't factored in the elevator. I know how hard that is to find. I'm handicapped and can't do stairs. My husband and I looked for a year and a half for an apartment we could afford with an elevator. We finally gave up and moved into a single floor house.

I feel ya, Cash. I also live in a two bedroom apartment in a city with "rent control". That doesn't stop the management company/landlord from raising the rent every year, but it does prevent huge leaps in rent.
I was interested in the TV situation. Years ago, I ordered a TV online via Amazon and it lasted about a year. Something was definitely wrong with that one from the get-go. After that, I got the TV from a local brick and mortar store and that one has been pretty good for quite a while. Still, I may need to get a new one sometime soon, and of course, there are fewer brick and mortar stores selling TVs, so I may need to cross my fingers and do an online purchase.
Problem always is how to dispose of the old TV when you don't have a car. They don't want you to just dump them on the sidewalk, but encourage you to take them to a special facility in the city. Problem is, the facility is always at the most inconvenient location which requires a car.

  • @deborahcurtis1385
    @deborahcurtis1385 10 місяців тому +2

The TV is badly placed so closely underneath the air con. When you have the air con on heat, it will cook the TV or at least shorten its life. Move it lower down, try adding some wooden planks to the wall that will mean you don't have to drill into the wall in a new spot? When you move out move the planks....you just have those same holes to fill or leave depending.
Also consider putting some kind of protective vent over the top of the TV. Electronics do not like heat and even though heat rises, that close is too close. It's just a law of the universe. Well done though!
Also try to get a cheap but small storage unit to:
    - store out of season clothes
    - rotate the children's toys (as suggested by @bookwoman40 below)
    - store stuff that needs repair or similar
    - keep reference material or other work related stuff you won't use a lot.
So much cheaper than moving to a bigger place!

Next time you get a TV, get one with a non-reflective screen. Your TV is right next to a window, and you will always see the reflection of the window when approaching the TV.
And, when you mount it on the wall, tilt it down. You don't watch TV standing up. You're sitting down. Tilt it far enough that its pointing at where your eyes are.
