Always wanted a birds kitted 130i, and still do to some extent.

123456bmx I found the steering better on my E82 135i than the M235i I tested. If I was to repeat car purchase again I’d either keep my 135i with Birds spec or get an £18k M235i and Birds spec it over my current M car.

Guys That Drive it is the MPE on the back of it. Will sound a bit fruitier than a stock M235i.
Highly rated by whom? Just do a muffler delete. Much cheaper, sounds better, not obnoxious at all if you keep the stock downpipe/cat.
Driven the m235i and m240i. I wouldn’t call them sports cars, but more fast street cars. Feels a bit disconnected from the road but it’s also quite a comfortable car.
Maybe stock. These things have amazing tuning potential.

there is no mention of the lower control arm and rear subframe upgrades on the birds website. I don't think these are fitted to this car.
Cletus, I'm delighted to hear you say that on public roads a car can have too much power. What you need for enjoyable driving is a feeling of connection with the car, and this feeling comes via the handling of the car. The car has got to be fun to drive, and power hasn't got a lot to do with that - Audi are an example of stunning power and little enjoyment.

Starts off with something that doesn’t really make sense. Doesn’t believe BMWs are the ultimate driving car since he has driven other better cars (e.g their rivals). But he doesn’t have anything against BMWs because they are often better to drive than their rivals.

He meant that he drived better cars but that usually bimers are better cars to drive in their segment, it can't be ultimate driving machine if you count supercars and track toys like ariel atom or bac mono
I'm not very familiar with the dynamics of the 2 series, but if a car tends to loose rear grip on a bump in a corner, it can be an indication that the alignment may be off.
Prefer the practically of my m140i🤪 but still good value for the performance
Finally smn who mentions the indifference in weight reg. M2 and M4. Imo, this is the M2's biggest flaw. It should be 200 Kg lighter to be a proper M car like the E46.

Manual cars, because they are lighter a little bit, M4: 1497kg, M2 and M3 E46 both 1495kg, actually its pretty epic that a modern car just this much, even 1400kg would be amazing, my S2000 was 1320kg, -200 is just not possible without giving up a lot of comfort, Lotus Exige 380 is 1100kg, but that is just so fkin loud

Trying to be like Jeremy Clarkson but sadly not pulling it off........
I've got a 230i (engine is basically a down-sized turbocharged match for the old 130i N/A engine in terms of performance) and my future mods list is basically this: quaife lsd, supersprint exhaust bits (turbo-back) , possibly birds suspension, less likely but may consider an ecu tune. Not rushing to do any of this but the quaife will be first.

Just as quick as the standard M2 anyway👍
I will say using standard suspension - set up the car actually feels to fast for its chassis. Don’t modify our daily so just lift off the throttle 🤪
I had one of these though without the LSD, great car and enjoyed it loads. The only downside like all BMW without the xdrive is you just can’t get the power down so the new M3 and M4 in the next generation should solve that problem and make them so much more enjoyable. Nice vid Jay
An m235i is what I want next or a m135i depending on price. Remap to 400bhp and it’s perfect.
Well no, they are pretty quick as standard, it's the crappy handling that lets them down, this is what needs modding.
mark reed the m135i is lower in price than the m235i. If you got the money go for the m140i.

123456bmx where do u live brah?! In the UK (and Europe) manual is very much alive; in any case, it’s all about the pleasure of driving. If i had a family sedan, i’d want an automatic. But if i had a sporty car, i deffo want a manual!

Its all depending on what car you will be drivning. I would have any M 1-235i-40i or the M2 in manual, why? Beacuse it is like a toy car lol, you dont care if you lose thoose 0.2 sec from 0-100 just beacuse you have a manual, its just more fun with manual, more drivning pleasure.
Now lets say the new M5 would have the option to having manual, would i take it ? Nope, i let YOU figure out why i would not take it, if you can.
