- BEAUTIFUL CROCHET PATTERN STEP BY STEP TUTORIAL FOR AN EASY BABY CARDIGAN SWEATER with beautiful herringbone stitch perfect for everyone to make in VARIOUS SIZES.
In today's crochet tutorial I will show you how to crochet this beautiful baby cardigan sweater “Samy” for boys and girls between 0-3 months using the herringbone stitch. You can also make this crochet jacket or sweater cardigan smaller or bigger by simply changing your hook size and making it exactly like this tutorial with same number of rows and Stitches. Just remember that these sizes are based on standard sizes and since not all babies/children are the same size. SIZES:
NB use 3mm hook with #3, DK or 8 ply yarn
0-3M use 3.5mm hook with #3, DK or 8 ply yarn
3-6M use 4mm hook with #3, DK or 8 ply yarn
6-12M use 4.5mm hook with #3, DK or 8 ply yarn
12-24M use 5mm hook with #4, Aran or 10 ply yarn
2-3 yrs use 5.5mm hook with #4, Aran or 10 ply yarn
MATERIALS:
YARN: For the 0-3M size, I used 97 grams total of Cygnet DK
HOOK SIZE: 3.5mm crochet hook
BUTTONS: Five 12mm size buttons
APPROX. GAUSE: 2in = 6 rows/9 sts with DK yarn and 3.5mm hook

If I wanted to make this for a 2to 3 yr old would I just change my hook size up and still have the same amount of stitches , I’m new to cardigans I’ve never done one before , I usually do blankets , I’m following your instructions on this pattern ok , just a bit unsure of doing the bigger size 🙃
You just make it exactly like the pattern with same stitch count and number of rows. In the pattern or in the information box you will find the hook size and yarn weight for each size. I hope this helps 🤗

From previous comments that I’ve read, you can make any of my designs with a 2mm hook and #3 or #2 yarn. You just make it exactly like the tutorial and it comes out perfect for preemie size. I hope this helps.
You really need to find a way of tidying the edges up so theyre straight tho and not one side slanted ! Times ive had to undo this because of the one edge slanting ghinking im doing something wrong but im not !
As mentioned in the tutorial this will occur with this particular pattern. Once you make the front panel edging it all evens out. Just

Hello. I am making the second sleeve, the right sleeve, and I cant figure it out. Am I going to start the same space and go to the left? If I do that the stitches don’t add up and I end up with only 25 stitches… do you know where I am doing it wrong?
Hi! Yes do it exactly like the first sleeve. The important thing is the stitch count around the sleeves which should be the same and then adjust if you must under the sleeves to get to the 27 sts needed.
