We did the same on Clear Lake, Ca when I we a kid. The tree's here are willow and just as thick as you guy's are fishing. Brings back memories.

I've caught a bunch of crappie up in the buck brush on lake Toledo Bend by where I live but I've never went wade fishing for them... This looks like a ton of fun!!!

LOVE ME SOME WHITE PERCH!!! We live in southeast Texas and my cajun man has been going last 3 Saturdays to Rayburn and it's been FISH ON for him too ! Now if I could get him away from the old school EGG/cornmeal batter and do it the "Godwin Way"...there would be less fuss in my kitchen during fish cookin time...but it's all good ! Keep on keepin on man and God bless you and yours.

I have caught Crappie that large in Central Alabama in the eighties. They are good broiled as well as fried.

My biggest Croppie was 13 inches called in at Like dewey it was one and a half pound the biggest one I ever had
In central Florida we call them specks not crappie.
Yeah I grew up calling the Speckled Perch. I moved to south Louisiana where they call them Sacalait.

@@williamback3690 crappie taste the best when you take them out of the ice! When I catch them in the spring I put them on ice. It helps, them plays taste like lobster and crab!

William, rock bass and crappie are two separate types of sun fish. Those the Godwin is catching are crappie
