My first time watching your reactions. It reminds me when I started to watch asian shows a few years ago. I love to learn new things about the culture, habits etc... and it is really nice to see your interest. This story makes you really feel good, even when it is sad. I recommend taking time to watch the outro, the previews for next episodes, and also the music videos as new songs come in. The director made it all part of the experience. I think it's nice to say that generally BL series are known for prolonging conflicts as long as possible and for the lack of communication between characters and couples, but Bad Buddy fixes all these problems that bother a lot of people. I hope you continue to like it 🥺❤
Yes Thai BL industry have their roots in Thai BL novel which are in majority wrote by women for women ! @@vanessaferey5286 This isn't correct. Gay men, lesbians, trans and other LGBTQ people have been writing BLs for Decades now despite its origins more than half a century ago. When it comes to the novel adaptations I know three directors that identify as straight women - 2 in Thailand and 1 in Taiwan. Many of the women involved in BL are some kind of queer and more people are feeling more comfortable publicly declaring their sexuality as time goes by. Same goes for men and non binary people who are writing BL under the cover of "straight female" because it is too dangerous professionally and socially to come out. The vast majority of BL series directors have always been male and gay just like Director Aof and they have the last word on what you see on the screen - whether westerners pronounce it cliched, heteronormative or not. All these people are doing their best from where they are - both personally and politically and regardless of gender identity. Many of these same issues you don't like to see in BL are in lgbt media also but are hardly remarked upon. Indeed a lot has improved in Asian BL recently but change is always in step with the direction of queer Asian discourse, knowledge about sexuality and the reality of homophobia in Asia. Currently, Asian BL is in many ways more progressive and transformative than the lgbt discourse in the Anglo West which has shifted very far to the right. That is why there is so much more hype and interest among billions of global fans of queer media for content produced in Asia. BL actors and fandoms are actively engaged in challenging homophobia and in activism for human rights for Asian lgbt communities. We should be generous enough give them the credit that is due
In Thai language you can use a male or female "particule" when talking or writing. This is how they knew Pat was a guy because the message was written coming from a male. Nothing indicates that his friends new he is gay, but they are open to it one way or another.

Nanon Korapat as Pran is an actor and singer. He can play guitar. Ohm Pawat as Pat he can play drum and guitar too. Fun fact they are close friend in real life and Nanon is a clingy person and likes to hug and teasing Ohm like kiss in the cheeks
Ohm (Pat) and and Nanon (Pran) are close friends in real life and they both are known for their acting skills. They are able to display the emotions even just with the eyes. Their chemestry is also on another level. (They improvise A LOT of scenes through out the series) This is why everyone waited so bad for this series to come out. Also, this is SUCH a healthy series to start -and has deep meanings too. I also want to point out that in thai language, there are particals which are different for male and female. This was why the friends knew that the note was coming from a guy. In most series, sexuality is one of the main problems in the story. Acceptence of the sexuality by themselves or their family/friends etc. But in this series, it's a open minded set (at least in this subject) and they mainly focused on the different part of the story.

When I love a series, I can rewatch it on a yearly basis, but these "simple and fluffy" Thai BL series, have literally changed my perspective on things. That there is absolutely nothing wrong with "simple and fluff", if it's done very well, along with the chemistry of the lead performers, and having a terrific supporting cast.
@@VixenByNight72 actually, I think "simple and fluffy" is precisely what drew me to BL in the middle of the original 2020 lockdown, and it's also what keeps me coming back for more. And more. And more. That said, I reckon UWMA is neither. And that's what works for it!
Actually, Pat and Pran are vers. Before this series was aired, Aof (director) wanted to break stereotypes of Seme (dominant) and Uke (submissive) in the BL universe. If you look at older BLs, they overly emphasize aspects of "top and bottom" or "husband and wife." Bad Buddy is truly revolutionary BL this year, which will even demand for better BLs. Also, you're right about open-minded setting. There's no homophobia in this series because the main issue focus on conflict between families and departments (Architecture vs Engineering), and how it affect PatPran's relationship.
I'm so happy that there wasn't a whole week between you guys uploading EP1 and EP2! You've just made my night. To be completely honest, when I was first watching BBS (I started from around the time when EP4 was out and since then I had to wait a week for every EP - but it's what made this journey even more special to me), I thought that EP1 was a solid series opener, but it's this episode that made me really into Bad Buddy. I love how fast paced it was (nothing dragged out) and the comedy, as well as the glimpse of more serious undertones that we could see when Pran overheard Pat's dad badmouthing his family. Plus, I just adore Pat's and Pran's dynamic. They bicker like there is no tomorrow, and they can't help but compete with each other in everything, but they also can't stay away from each other, and they make each other feel so alive. I just love them. Can't wait to see your reaction to EP3. I miss this show so much, so I'm glad I can re-watch it with you guys.

I can’t lie, after watching your first video I was intrigued in what the hell this series was. I then binged it in one night. Didn’t get to sleep forgetting had to travel the next day! To say I was tired was an understatement. It was a lovely series, different to anything I’d seen before. I couldn’t help laugh at all the sound effects and random camera zooms. First time commenting, been loving your reactions for a while hope you’re both having a wonderful day!

If you like Ohm's (Pat) performance, I definitely recommend "He's coming to Me". I don't think I'd consider it on par with this series, but it was still really enjoyable. Ohm and Singto (his costar) do an excellent job and it manages to be both sad and wholesome at the same time.
I love your reaction for Bad Buddy!!! Bad Buddy really breaks stereotypes that we see in the usual BL dramas. We will see that in later episodes. After you finish Bad Buddy please react to "Not Me"!!! It's a darker themed Thai BL!
One of the things that's so fun about this series is that it's truly a Rom-Com with some dramatic elements. So it just makes you feel nice and warm when you watch it. Even the tough and heavy emotional moments between the characters are still really authentic so they also make you feel satisfied.
lol had to comment to say I ended up binging the entire thing in a couple of days after watching your first video on this series. It's a slow burner by SO worth it in the end!

In the original novel this is adapted from the character of Pran is Gay and his friends all know & Pat is Bisexual, but the director P’Aof never officially states what sexuality Pat & Pran are only that they are an equal & verse couple in the series which he writes into the script on many occasions so also keep an eye on the dialogue as it is as important as the brilliant acting
This comment is kind of a spoiler, imo. You should let them watch ep.8 (in which there is a talk abt their sexuality) and ep.11 first and only then post a comment like that if you feel Corey and Jason wouldn't get it on their own.
Not really a spoiler, as I am talking about the original novel which was very, very loosely to not at all used to write this script for the tv series and the boys stated that Pran’s friends know he is gay already in this clip, they also tend to talk a lot and not pay much attention to what is going on and with P’Aof series you need to pay attention to everything as he is the master of BL/LGBTQ+ genre
Pat and Pran already became iconic!!!! Such a fresh relationship, insane chemistry. This two shook the world!!! What I really love about this series is that you can clearly see how there relationship is growing up, who is feeling what in that particular moment. No fillers, every scene for the right reason. Can't wait your reaction for the next episode!!!!

After watching video comment here, first of all I feel like Jason is a language nerd like me since I also did the same and went for searching about the language and the culture lol, second of all I know fighting scenes looks not that good but the actors are literally fighting irl for that scenes lmao even in the fight scene in the bus stop next episode Jimmy(Wai’s actor) hit his head on the billboard thingy there lol they’re using body protection and such but they still said it hurt for a while after shooting, the bts are on the gmmtv channel so if you wanna look it up BUT especially after finishing the whole series because major spoilers are there Also also the song Pran singing was Nanon’s actual voice, he has banger songs in the show you’ll see more as the time passes. Loved the reaction as usual it’s always a delight watching with you guys!!
Mark, one of the actor's playing one of Pran's friends, took a real accidental punch in the first episode. That might be why they're being so obviously fake.
Yay! Thank you for continue watching this series! I know that it might be a little bit different from what you're used to watch, but I honestly think you're going to like it! I'm not an expert on Thai or Asian BL series, but from the ones I've seen, this is definitely one of the best (if not the best one), especially because it fixed A LOT of the problems regarding the relationship between the main couple this genre has, and that were always something that made me question a lot of the writing and plots in other shows I've watched. The director himself is gay and he's always trying his best to make LGBTQ+ characters and stories justice and that always shows in his work.
Homophobia doesn't exist in a lot of BLs - it's a fantasy where there is no straight or gay, people just fall in love. Some are more realistic, dealing with the angst of self-acceptance and coming out and all that. This is kinda in the middle - gay exists, but nobody cares. There's no drama about a man falling for another man. The first kiss, when it comes, will be well, well worth it.
Im so happy you guys are starting with this Thai series , its really cute and gets better with each episode. When you finish this series and if you wnat to get into another thai bl series you should do "not me the series" it has deeper themes that aren't usually addressed in it and its about politics and gangs, i think you guys would find it really interesting and fun plus its really cute with the romance side of it. Right now it's current on air with 8/14 episodes i think. Its an absolute masterpiece but when you guys get the time to of course. Looking forward for y'all reactions to the rest of this amazing series😁
for the part where you asked if the friends know his gay, at this point i don't know but they can tell the note is from a guy because of the word 'krab' that is used by guys only. girls would use 'kha' But it is also a very open minded setting where gender doesn't really matter (that much). I thinkt hat's is what diffenticates BL from actual LGBTQ media but lately that line is starrting to become more blurry. Bad Buddy is a perfect step in the right direction!
Others have probably already said this, but one of the best features about this series is that virtually every episode is better than the previous one.
Please react to "Not Me" it's another thai series by GMMTV. It has a thriller and dark genre, it's opposite to this one but I'm sure you both will love it too
They said it😭😭: in the note there was a male particle "krub". Females use "kha". If u pay attention they use it ALL THE TIME like saying thank you is "khopkhun krub/kha" and bc pat's note said "thank you krub" everyone knows it's a boy. In the 1st note tho, the one from pran to prat with the drinks he didn't use any particle so pat is just imagining it's a girl mainly from the writing. Pretty writing is assumed to be from a girl in thailand.
What always gets me about this episode is when Pat teases Pran by asking something like "so why are you here then?" because Pat, in the writing in his notes, is very obviously a guy. It's like a seed is unconsciously planted in Pat's mind that perhaps they could be more than friends. Ah it's so brilliant...
Not me is another really good show rn, it's also a Thai bl that you guys should watch, even if not on a reaction but in your own time, also some other good suggestions in my opinion are: . Until we meet again . Why r u the series . Tharntype . History 3 trapped . Sotus . Theory of love And many more, all of which have varied viewpoints from many people, some like them, others don't. These shows really do show the difference between other bl shows and Thai/Asian BLs in general, you guys, if you want, should also try watch some of these, like mentioned, they don't all have to be reactions
Idk how far in advance you shoot your videos but I would recommend Until We Meet Again as your next BL Series. The story is well written and you will be so invested on all the 3 couples in the story.
Big agree. Until We Meet Again is probably the most complex, culturally expansive (red thread plus The Food!) and funny and fluffy at the same time with seasoned actors. I consider it the best Thai BL I've watched next to He's Coming To Me in which Ohm did his best work (won dramatic awards - not just BL awards for) and Singto is of course magnificent. I also think its Director Aof's most flawless work and the script was also excellent. Both of these are absolutely unforgettable even after a few years and hundreds more BLs being produced to compare them to. I hope these reactors check them out - I like their work - very empathetic and not imposing western views is such a pleasure to watch 💕

Bad Buddy is a fantastic Thai BL. Groundbreaking for the Thai BL's. They killed the stereotypical playbook if you will. If you're wanting something a tad steamier, try Together With Me or Don't Say No.
Was it just me, or did the scene when the real estate agent came back into the room make you think of the little girl walking in on Isak and Even in the swimming pool? Not exactly the same, but sort of similar. I’ve seen some other comments now, but I didn’t think that Pran’s friends knew he was gay, but were just teasing him; now I realize it’s a grammatical thing having to do with pronouns in Thai. The show is very different from both “Sex Education” or the various versions of “Skam,” and that makes it a refreshing change of pace, as much as I like both of those other shows.

Well, this was a pleasant surprise. I never thought you guys would be reacting to Bad Buddy. I think you will enjoy it very much. I loved both of your faces when Pran was eating the chicken 🤣🤣🤣. Btw if you liked the song that they were playing at school together, is called Just Friend by Nanon Korapat, the actor that plays as Pran, he is a very good singer and the song is really beautiful. Also if you want to check other Thai BL I highly recommend A Tale Of A Thousand Stars, is very beautiful, touching and you will see a different side of Thailand, and Not Me, this one is soooooooo good, is darker, way more serious, not so fluffy but with a very good script, excellent acting(one of the best so far), incredible chemistry between the actors, a great OST, beautiful cinematography, and talks about a lot of society and political problems that anyone can relate to. Also has so many scenes that are so meaningful that has created impact in the viewers. Definitely a must watch!

OHMYGOSH!!! I screamed when I saw you guys were reacting to this! You have successfully stepped into the Asian side of magic and now I can't wait for your both to discover all the great shows out there!!! Bad Buddy is a very soft and fluffy show and has incredibly cute characters and I'm sure you will only continue falling in love. The editing and the way it's taken, including the script, is obviously very different from how the shows in the west are filmed, and it will take some time to get used to, but this show is worth everything!

There’s another one of the best Thai BL drama released last year, which is more on mature version of storyline, no school setting. Its called 'Manner of Death’ I hope you both give a chance to react on that drama. BL actor who act on that drama are known as King Of BL Thailand because of their chemistry off and on camera. I bet you both will like it, each ep, are so good

DOES NOT CONTAIN SPOILERS When you guys get to episode 8, there's a scene in a car, a song is on the radio and someone sings it, that song is actually Nanon's (Pran) song! The scene was kind of improvised and his reaction is genuine since they played the song to tease him.
In a lot of Thai BLs there are productplacements, some more unnecessary than others, but I've just gotten used to it. And the funny soundeffects that sometimes are, I've gotten used to that too.
I will make my captain obvious Ohm (Pat) is a actor who have some quite BL on his CV Nanon (Pran) Bad Buddy was his first BL Ohm And Nanon are best friend IRL they known eo since high school When P Aof contact Ohm telling him " i have a role for you it's a BL" Ohm was a little be reluctant because he wanted to play some other type of serie but Aof tell him "and Nanon will be you partner" Ohm jump on the role And if you love P Aof direction i suggest some of his BL like "Tales of Thousand Stars" (With Earth and Mixx) and "He's Coming to me" (with a 19 years old Ohm) Bad Buddy plot isn't revolutionnary or original but the script was so well written and the serie so well directed and broke so so so so so many clichees that why so much people love it
I will add a BL thai that is absolutly need to be see : Not me (GMMTV Channel too) ! This is not a thai typical BL it's more deep ! The director add a political ans social dimension because Thailand is one of the more BL productive country but still gay rights are so low : a boss could fire a person such learning their sexuality, still no decision about same sex union etc...

Ohm (Pat) and and Nanon (Pran) are close friends in real life and they both are known for their acting skills. They are able to display the emotions even just with the eyes. Their chemestry is also on another level. (They improvise A LOT of scenes through out the series) This is why everyone waited so bad for this series to come out. Also, this is SUCH a healthy series to start -and has deep meanings too.
I also want to point out that in thai language, there are particals which are different for male and female. This was why the friends knew that the note was coming from a guy. In most series, sexuality is one of the main problems in the story. Acceptence of the sexuality by themselves or their family/friends etc. But in this series, it's a open minded set (at least in this subject) and they mainly focused on the different part of the story.

When I love a series, I can rewatch it on a yearly basis, but these "simple and fluffy" Thai BL series, have literally changed my perspective on things. Actually, Pat and Pran are vers. Before this series was aired, Aof (director) wanted to break stereotypes of Seme (dominant) and Uke (submissive) in the BL universe. If you look at older BLs, they overly emphasize aspects of "top and bottom" or "husband and wife." Bad Buddy is truly revolutionary BL this year, which will even demand for better BLs.
Also, you're right about open-minded setting. There's no homophobia in this series because the main issue focus on conflict between families and departments (Architecture vs Engineering), and how it affect PatPran's relationship.

I'm so happy that there wasn't a whole week between you guys uploading EP1 and EP2! You've just made my night. To be completely honest, when I was first watching BBS (I started from around the time when EP4 was out and since then I had to wait a week for every EP - but it's what made this journey even more special to me), I thought that EP1 was a solid series opener, but it's this episode that made me really into Bad Buddy. I love how fast paced it was (nothing dragged out) and the comedy, as well as the glimpse of more serious undertones that we could see when Pran overheard Pat's dad badmouthing his family. Plus, I just adore Pat's and Pran's dynamic. They bicker like there is no tomorrow, and they can't help but compete with each other in everything, but they also can't stay away from each other, and they make each other feel so alive. I just love them.

I can’t lie, after watching your first video I was intrigued in what the hell this series was. I then binged it in one night. Didn’t get to sleep forgetting had to travel the next day! To say I was tired was an understatement.

The sound effects are pretty normal in Thai dramas especially in Comedies. You get used to it and don’t even hear it at all.

If you like Ohm's (Pat) performance, I definitely recommend "He's coming to Me". I don't think I'd consider it on par with this series, but it was still really enjoyable. Ohm and Singto (his costar) do an excellent job and it manages to be both sad and wholesome at the same time.
He's Coming To Me was written & directed by Aof, the director of this one.

One of the things that's so fun about this series is that it's truly a Rom-Com with some dramatic elements. So it just makes you feel nice and warm when you watch it. Even the tough and heavy emotional moments between the characters are still really authentic so they also make you feel satisfied.

In the original novel this is adapted from the character of Pran
is Gay and his friends all know & Pat is Bisexual, but the director P’Aof never officially states what sexuality Pat & Pran are only that they are an equal & verse couple in the series which he writes into the script on many occasions so also keep an eye on the dialogue as it is as important as the brilliant acting
This comment is kind of a spoiler, imo. You should let them watch ep.8 (in which there is a talk abt their sexuality) and ep.11 first and only then post a comment like that if you feel Corey and Jason wouldn't get it on their own.
Not really a spoiler, as I am talking about the original novel which was very, very loosely to not at all used to write this script for the tv series and the boys stated that Pran’s friends know he is gay already in this clip,
they also tend to talk a lot and not pay much attention to what is going on and with P’Aof series you need to pay attention to everything as he is the master of BL/LGBTQ+ genre

After watching video comment here, first of all I feel like Jason is a language nerd like me since I also did the same and went for searching about the language and the culture lol, second of all I know fighting scenes looks not that good but the actors are literally fighting irl for that scenes lmao even in the fight scene in the bus stop next episode Jimmy(Wai’s actor) hit his head on the billboard thingy there lol they’re using body protection and such but they still said it hurt for a while after shooting, the bts are on the gmmtv channel so if you wanna look it up BUT especially after finishing the whole series because major spoilers are there
Also also the song Pran singing was Nanon’s actual voice, he has banger songs in the show you’ll see more as the time passes.

Yay! Thank you for continue watching this series! I know that it might be a little bit different from what you're used to watch, but I honestly think you're going to like it! I'm not an expert on Thai or Asian BL series, but from the ones I've seen, this is definitely one of the best (if not the best one), especially because it fixed A LOT of the problems regarding the relationship between the main couple this genre has, and that were always something that made me question a lot of the writing and plots in other shows I've watched. The director himself is gay and he's always trying his best to make LGBTQ+ characters and stories justice and that always shows in his work.
Homophobia doesn't exist in a lot of BLs - it's a fantasy where there is no straight or gay, people just fall in love. Some are more realistic, dealing with the angst of self-acceptance and coming out and all that. This is kinda in the middle - gay exists, but nobody cares. There's no drama about a man falling for another man.
The first kiss, when it comes, will be well, well worth it.
Im so happy you guys are starting with this Thai series , its really cute and gets better with each episode. When you finish this series and if you wnat to get into another thai bl series you should do "not me the series" it has deeper themes that aren't usually addressed in it and its about politics and gangs, i think you guys would find it really interesting and fun plus its really cute with the romance side of it. Right now it's current on air with 8/14 episodes i think. Its an absolute masterpiece but when you guys get the time to of course. Looking forward for y'all reactions to the rest of this amazing series😁

for the part where you asked if the friends know his gay, at this point i don't know but they can tell the note is from a guy because of the word 'krab' that is used by guys only. girls would use 'kha' But it is also a very open minded setting where gender doesn't really matter (that much). I thinkt hat's is what diffenticates BL from actual LGBTQ media but lately that line is starrting to become more blurry. Bad Buddy is a perfect step in the right direction!

They said it😭😭: in the note there was a male particle "krub". Females use "kha". If u pay attention they use it ALL THE TIME like saying thank you is "khopkhun krub/kha" and bc pat's note said "thank you krub" everyone knows it's a boy. In the 1st note tho, the one from pran to prat with the drinks he didn't use any particle so pat is just imagining it's a girl mainly from the writing. Pretty writing is assumed to be from a girl in thailand.

Idk how far in advance you shoot your videos but I would recommend Until We Meet Again as your next BL Series. The story is well written and you will be so invested on all the 3 couples in the story.

Big agree. Until We Meet Again is probably the most complex, culturally expansive (red thread plus The Food!) and funny and fluffy at the same time with seasoned actors. I consider it the best Thai BL I've watched next to He's Coming To Me in which Ohm did his best work (won dramatic awards - not just BL awards for) and Singto is of course magnificent.
I also think its Director Aof's most flawless work and the script was also excellent. Both of these are absolutely unforgettable even after a few years and hundreds more BLs being produced to compare them to.
I hope these reactors check them out - I like their work - very empathetic and not imposing western views is such a pleasure to watch 💕

Bad Buddy is a fantastic Thai BL. Groundbreaking for the Thai BL's. They killed the stereotypical playbook if you will. If you're wanting something a tad steamier, try Together With Me or Don't Say No.
Was it just me, or did the scene when the real estate agent came back into the room make you think of the little girl walking in on Isak and Even in the swimming pool? Not exactly the same, but sort of similar. I’ve seen some other comments now, but I didn’t think that Pran’s friends knew he was gay, but were just teasing him; now I realize it’s a grammatical thing having to do with pronouns in Thai. The show is very different from both “Sex Education” or the various versions of “Skam,” and that makes it a refreshing change of pace, as much as I like both of those other shows.

Well, this was a pleasant surprise. I never thought you guys would be reacting to Bad Buddy. I think you will enjoy it very much. I loved both of your faces when Pran was eating the chicken 🤣🤣🤣. Btw if you liked the song that they were playing at school together, is called Just Friend by Nanon Korapat, the actor that plays as Pran, he is a very good singer and the song is really beautiful. Also if you want to check other Thai BL I highly recommend A Tale Of A Thousand Stars, is very beautiful, touching and you will see a different side of Thailand, and Not Me, this one is soooooooo good, is darker, way more serious, not so fluffy but with a very good script, excellent acting(one of the best so far), incredible chemistry between the actors, a great OST, beautiful cinematography, and talks about a lot of society and political problems that anyone can relate to. Also has so many scenes that are so meaningful that has created impact in the viewers. Definitely a must watch!

Bad Buddy is a very soft and fluffy show and has incredibly cute characters and I'm sure you will only continue falling in love. The editing and the way it's taken, including the script, is obviously very different from how the shows in the west are filmed, and it will take some time to get used to, but this show is worth everything!

There’s another one of the best Thai BL drama released last year, which is more on mature version of storyline, no school setting. Its called 'Manner of Death’ I hope you both give a chance to react on that drama. BL actor who act on that drama are known as King Of BL Thailand because of their chemistry off and on camera.
