Korn coming through as Pat's true bestie is something i knew we were going to get, and I'm happy we really got that in this episode, and to see him being so cool and comfortable with PatPran to the point where he's now teasing them and poking his nose into their s*x life, i definitely expected that from him but im glad he's very much supportive of PatPran, we love to see it😌
There's no good excuse for what Wai did. He literally outed his friend in front of loads of people just because he was mad Pran hid that he was dating Pat from him (which I completely understand as their friends don't get along). The only thing I dislike about this show is how easily Wai was forgiven. I think he needed to do a lot more to be forgiven and it shouldn't have been Pran that had to apologise.
i was really mad about it at first, but i stopped paying attention to it because the writers made it seem like the concept of outing doesn't exist in this universe. like the outing wasn't adressed AT ALL so it really seemed they ignored it (which is really disappointing because they handled so many other problematic things well, like the whole "wifey-hubby" nonsense and the "im not gay i only him" trope)

I know some people were upset at Wai for “outing” Pran, but I believe this series exists in a world where sexuality isn’t a big deal. Pran’s mother said she didn’t care who he brought home, as long as it wasn’t the neighbor’s kid. I believe when Pat and Pran were on the trip and Pran lies to his friend about having a broken heart, no one discusses a gender. And when Pran and Wai talk after the play, Pran says that he was afraid that Wai wouldn’t accept who he was dating (because he hated Pat, not because Pat was a guy). So when I watched the first scene, I just saw Wai as the best friend who was angry that he had been lied to. If the sexuality/“coming out” is taken out of the equation, I can see why Wai was angry at Pran, and pushed Pran to openly admit he was seeing Pat.
This is true - it wasn't an 'outing' in the sense that we usually think of it. It was an outing of Pat & Pran as a secret (Architecture-Engineering oh my) couple. The fact that they are a gay couple is not really significant in the environment.
You have no idea how we suffered with this episode. That was the last episode realeased in 2021. We spent 2 weeks w/o the episode 10, bc of the celebrations of the new year. The fandom went CRAZY, and Pran just spet two weeks standing in front of Pat's parents hahaha that cliffhanger, on that episode, was torture
The whole situation with Wai reminds me of the way Simon’s friends in “Love, Simon” get mad with him after he’s outed, not because he’s gay, but because he lied to them. In that movie, they have a little more justification because he does manipulate them a bit, but eventually time heals things, and that seems to be true with Wai as well. Whether or not he completely deserves it, Pran is willing to forgive, and in future episodes Wai seems to get over his anger as well. (I don’t think that’s too much of a spoiler.) I like that Pat essentially comes out as being pansexual, even if he doesn’t use that word. And even though there are occasional plotholes in this show, like the fingerprint thing you were talking about, it doesn’t keep it from being pretty terrific. A little bit of trivia here: Drake, who plays Korn, is Thai American (his father is American), and he has spent a good bit of time in the US. There are a couple of videos on UA-cam of him being interviewed by an English speaker, and he is not just fluent in English but sounds very American when he talks, much more than the times I’ve heard other cast members on the show speaking English.
Pran manipulated Wai a little when it comes to Pa (and Wai had already seen Pran get into Pat's car at that point), but still, Simon's friends weren't the ones outing Simon, unlike here. Wai may be justified in being angry, but he should still have apologised for what he did. That said, I'm glad everyone ends up making peace with one another. Looked up a video of Drake speaking English and you can definitely tell he's assimilated an American accent. I've heard Ohm speak English before, and he's OK at it, but Nanon seems to struggle quite a bit with it. (Which is totally fine, his English is still better than my Thai! :p )
I think though, what differeneiates the outing in Love, Simon and the outing heere, and basically makes all the difference, is the fact that the concept of sexualities doesn't seem to be an actual issue in this universe. I've definitely noticed this in multiple BL, that they just ignore homophobia completely in favor of having a cute story, and since this universe already has the concept of enemies by family and enemies by faculty, homophobia seemed to just be left out. Like, their world still seems to be heteronormative, in the sense that straight is usually assumed unless given reason not to, butt not being straight isn't problematic. So Patpran being outed is less of a "I am revealing this deeply rooted secret about you that you were constantly judged for in your life, that you were born with", and more of a "I am revealing this secret that you've been hiding and lying to me about". Not saying what he did is okay, and I still think he should've apologized - especially after finding out that their families hate each other - but a lot of people seem to say this from a realistic LGBTQ+ point of view, where they are more upset about the outing of someone in the LGBTQ+ sense, in a world that isn't non-chalant about it.

Skipped through to find a few: The black inhaler earlier, the scene where Pran drinks the Oishi green tea while Pat teases him with the xylophone, the scene where Pat changes the printheads on the CANON Pixma printer, the scene where they clean each other's faces with Nivea Micellar Water, the scene where Pran cools Pat's body with some drinks from Tesco Lotus Groceries while he's playing ill, and then the more subtle ones with Pat doing "boxing practice" with the Nong Nao doll, and the balcony scene showing both the Friend/Unfriend shirt and the PP headphone necklace case (all "available in the GMMTV store" ;) ). I just love how this episode's cliffhanger was Pat's parents seeing Pran getting out of his hospital room. Like he got shot, and there was this whole getting arrested issue. But they chose to use the parents as a cliffhanger. Because everyone knows that an Asian parent being mad is more dangerous than them all. Like if I get shot I'd be like "shit shit my folks are gonna be so pissed." lmfao and I think that's a great way to show the family dynamics of asian people.
There's just something about how the show has Pran seeing Pat's family as the end-of-episode major DRAMA cliffhanger than Pat getting shot and almost getting arrested.
I do feel sorry for you, guys, if this is your first serie cus Bad Buddy is placing the bar SOOOOOoo high for you on Thai BL. I think is easylist top 3 BL in history. You guys being so into the drama gave me so much entertainment! It was just so funny how you guys became professional investigators haha! I know many people are really mad at Wai, so it's refreshing to see how you guys actually try to understand his point. The director himself said Wai behaved this way because he felt like Pran had many chances to tell him but always decided not to and therefore leashed out at this point. He also said that the reason why Pran didn't get angry at Wai was because he always felt bad about choosing Pat over Wai - and with him finding out this way, he just felt even worse. I personally never felt before like Pran chose one over the other but when I rewatched the series I actually could tell. Scenes like the fight scene in Ep. 5, where Pat was the one starting a fight but Pran still sending Wai away stood out to me then. Or things like having diner, where he had plans with Wai but instead went with Pat (while giving Wai the excuse of having diner with his mom). And since we all know that Pran is really strict to himself and caring about the people around him, he didn't even think about what was done to him, but instead directly thought about what he himself did secretly. I'm not saying that Wai should be forgiven or that what he did was right, I just understand how all that stuff played out! This episode really proved to me that Pat and Pran just have the most healthy relationship to exist in a tv show. Many directors would've used the forced outing as a way to create drama between the couple (it would've played out like "I told you we should be carerful!", "If you would've listened" and blablabla) but here, no one blamed the other unreasonably. They didn't argue but instead consulted in each other. It's nice to see that they stick together in these situations. I've seen many shows where the couple broke up after being outed but the only thing closest to that in this ep was Pat suggesting to "pretend to break up". Really nice :)

Wai did all of this cause he felt betrayed about Pran hiding the fact he's dating Pat which is understandable and valid, but it just doesn't do me enough justice that he still acts like he should be the one to forgive Pran or not for hiding when he pulled a stunt in front of everyone to expose PatPran, i saw some tweets from fans that some were saying that PatPran doesn't seem like to know that Wai was the one who exposed them, or either that PatPran never really cared about hiding their relationship in front of others, it's just they were mostly worried especially Pran about their friends reacting to their relationship cause their faculties are all time rivals, and it is rare of their faculties to basically date each other, however this still doesn't excuse what Wai did, even if PatPran didn't care of being outed, it's still something that they decided to themselves and not have that choice taken away from them, this was my only take away from the episode, overall its a really good episode with both good and bad keypoints.

The whole husband and wife talk was INCREDIBLY important. U have no idea how many times it's normalized in thai bls. Why is everything always so heteronormative? What does it mean that one is the wife? It creates so many stereotypes and ppl always joke abt it it's very irritating. I LOVE that they had this convo. I love how both of you guys were stressing over Pat potentially getting arrested. When I first watched it, I was also wondering why the police were knocking on Pat's door. I watched a Thai reactor watch this show (Jennie Panhan) , and she wasn't surprised that the police were doing shitty police work.

Something like that was also said in episode 1 (I guess it was Korn who said it) "I'm not gonna hurt you (Wai) but I can't promise for my friend here (Pat), he can't hold himself back when he gets angry" Also in episode 5, when Pat and Wai had a fight, even if Wai was on the ground after the punch, Pat kept going onto him eyes locked with anger until Pran came in and pulled him back. He's so hot being angry tho
Be prepared for the emotional scenes for the next 3 episodes, I cried so much in each. This episode reminded me of the book, in the book it was a whole other thing, I think in general the book is more violent. I love how they called out for some common things on bl´s that shouldn´t happen, for example the wife part. I would totally recommend to you watching Lovely Writer, it points out a lot of issues on the bl industry that are normalized and that shouldn´t be normalized. Anyways I love your rections, I´m living for it!

I know some people were upset at Wai for “outing” Pran, but I believe this series exists in a world where sexuality isn’t a big deal. Pran’s mother said she didn’t care who he brought home, as long as it wasn’t the neighbor’s kid. I believe when Pat and Pran were on the trip and Pran lies to his friend about having a broken heart, no one discusses a gender. And when Pran and Wai talk after the play, Pran says that he was afraid that Wai wouldn’t accept who he was dating (because he hated Pat, not because Pat was a guy). So when I watched the first scene, I just saw Wai as the best friend who was angry that he had been lied to. If the sexuality/“coming out” is taken out of the equation, I can see why Wai was angry at Pran, and pushed Pran to openly admit he was seeing Pat.
This is true - it wasn't an 'outing' in the sense that we usually think of it. It was an outing of Pat & Pran as a secret (Architecture-Engineering oh my) couple. The fact that they are a gay couple is not really significant in the environment.
You have no idea how we suffered with this episode. That was the last episode realeased in 2021. We spent 2 weeks w/o the episode 10, bc of the celebrations of the new year. The fandom went CRAZY, and Pran just spet two weeks standing in front of Pat's parents hahaha that cliffhanger, on that episode, was torture
The whole situation with Wai reminds me of the way Simon’s friends in “Love, Simon” get mad with him after he’s outed, not because he’s gay, but because he lied to them. In that movie, they have a little more justification because he does manipulate them a bit, but eventually time heals things, and that seems to be true with Wai as well. Whether or not he completely deserves it, Pran is willing to forgive, and in future episodes Wai seems to get over his anger as well. (I don’t think that’s too much of a spoiler.) I like that Pat essentially comes out as being pansexual, even if he doesn’t use that word. And even though there are occasional plotholes in this show, like the fingerprint thing you were talking about, it doesn’t keep it from being pretty terrific. A little bit of trivia here: Drake, who plays Korn, is Thai American (his father is American), and he has spent a good bit of time in the US. There are a couple of videos on UA-cam of him being interviewed by an English speaker, and he is not just fluent in English but sounds very American when he talks, much more than the times I’ve heard other cast members on the show speaking English.
Pran manipulated Wai a little when it comes to Pa (and Wai had already seen Pran get into Pat's car at that point), but still, Simon's friends weren't the ones outing Simon, unlike here. Wai may be justified in being angry, but he should still have apologised for what he did. That said, I'm glad everyone ends up making peace with one another.
Looked up a video of Drake speaking English and you can definitely tell he's assimilated an American accent. I've heard Ohm speak English before, and he's OK at it, but Nanon seems to struggle quite a bit with it. (Which is totally fine, his English is still better than my Thai! :p )
I think though, what differeneiates the outing in Love, Simon and the outing heere, and basically makes all the difference, is the fact that the concept of sexualities doesn't seem to be an actual issue in this universe. I've definitely noticed this in multiple BL, that they just ignore homophobia completely in favor of having a cute story, and since this universe already has the concept of enemies by family and enemies by faculty, homophobia seemed to just be left out.
Like, their world still seems to be heteronormative, in the sense that straight is usually assumed unless given reason not to, butt not being straight isn't problematic.
So Patpran being outed is less of a "I am revealing this deeply rooted secret about you that you were constantly judged for in your life, that you were born with", and more of a "I am revealing this secret that you've been hiding and lying to me about". Not saying what he did is okay, and I still think he should've apologized - especially after finding out that their families hate each other - but a lot of people seem to say this from a realistic LGBTQ+ point of view, where they are more upset about the outing of someone in the LGBTQ+ sense, in a world that isn't non-chalant about it.

I just love how this episode's cliffhanger was Pat's parents seeing Pran getting out of his hospital room. Like he got shot, and there was this whole getting arrested issue. But they chose to use the parents as a cliffhanger. Because everyone knows that an Asian parent being mad is more dangerous than them all. Like if I get shot I'd be like "shit shit my folks are gonna be so pissed." lmfao and I think that's a great way to show the family dynamics of asian people.
There's just something about how the show has Pran seeing Pat's family as the end-of-episode major DRAMA cliffhanger than Pat getting shot and almost getting arrested.
I do feel sorry for you, guys, if this is your first serie cus Bad Buddy is placing the bar SOOOOOoo high for you on Thai BL. I think is easylist top 3 BL in history.

I know many people are really mad at Wai, so it's refreshing to see how you guys actually try to understand his point. The director himself said Wai behaved this way because he felt like Pran had many chances to tell him but always decided not to and therefore leashed out at this point. He also said that the reason why Pran didn't get angry at Wai was because he always felt bad about choosing Pat over Wai - and with him finding out this way, he just felt even worse. I personally never felt before like Pran chose one over the other but when I rewatched the series I actually could tell. Scenes like the fight scene in Ep. 5, where Pat was the one starting a fight but Pran still sending Wai away stood out to me then. Or things like having diner, where he had plans with Wai but instead went with Pat (while giving Wai the excuse of having diner with his mom). And since we all know that Pran is really strict to himself and caring about the people around him, he didn't even think about what was done to him, but instead directly thought about what he himself did secretly.
I'm not saying that Wai should be forgiven or that what he did was right, I just understand how all that stuff played out!
This episode really proved to me that Pat and Pran just have the most healthy relationship to exist in a tv show. Many directors would've used the forced outing as a way to create drama between the couple (it would've played out like "I told you we should be carerful!", "If you would've listened" and blablabla) but here, no one blamed the other unreasonably. They didn't argue but instead consulted in each other. It's nice to see that they stick together in these situations. I've seen many shows where the couple broke up after being outed but the only thing closest to that in this ep was Pat suggesting to "pretend to break up". Really nice :)

Wai did all of this cause he felt betrayed about Pran hiding the fact he's dating Pat which is understandable and valid, but it just doesn't do me enough justice that he still acts like he should be the one to forgive Pran or not for hiding when he pulled a stunt in front of everyone to expose PatPran, i saw some tweets from fans that some were saying that PatPran doesn't seem like to know that Wai was the one who exposed them, or either that PatPran never really cared about hiding their relationship in front of others, it's just they were mostly worried especially Pran about their friends reacting to their relationship cause their faculties are all time rivals, and it is rare of their faculties to basically date each other, however this still doesn't excuse what Wai did, even if PatPran didn't care of being outed, it's still something that they decided to themselves and not have that choice taken away from them, this was my only take away from the episode, overall its a really good episode with both good and bad keypoints.
It would be fun if you binge watched the bts series after watching this show 😊

I watched a Thai reactor watch this show (Jennie Panhan) , and she wasn't surprised that the police were doing shitty police work.

Yes, the character Pat is supposed to be scary when he's angry. Something like that was also said in episode 1 (I guess it was Korn who said it) "I'm not gonna hurt you (Wai) but I can't promise for my friend here (Pat), he can't hold himself back when he gets angry"
Also in episode 5, when Pat and Wai had a fight, even if Wai was on the ground after the punch, Pat kept going onto him eyes locked with anger until Pran came in and pulled him back. He's so hot being angry tho

Be prepared for the emotional scenes for the next 3 episodes, I cried so much in each. This episode reminded me of the book, in the book it was a whole other thing, I think in general the book is more violent. I love how they called out for some common things on bl´s that shouldn´t happen, for example the wife part. I would totally recommend to you watching Lovely Writer, it points out a lot of issues on the bl industry that are normalized and that shouldn´t be normalized. Anyways I love your rections, I´m living for it!
