Hi man, I need help in setting boundaries.
If someone disrespects me, if I confront it Im afraid of being accused of being called childish, petty or emotional.
e.g. Im buying cigarette and lighter from a local street shop(India). The shopkeeper puts lighter and ciggerate on table. While Im paying 2 people use my lighter. I dont like it but Im hesitant about calling them out.
Im afraid of being called petty, gay(women only care about small stuff), emotional, asshole or childish by 'X' guy. Also there are no boundaries in my culture and we have 'adjust' mentality.
How do I tell thr 'X' guy not to do it or ask shopkeeper to give me different lighter without being judged?

Are u childish?? More than what others judge it's whether u judge yourself. If u feel like u need another lighter you say so.

@@basedpusio in my area, many people are rude due to hustle culture.
If I say "its mine you asshole, why didn't you ask" it'll start a fight. If I say "bhai please dont use", they'll take nice attitude as weakness.
The shopkeeper will replace but how do I establish boundary with the 2 guys who used the lighter.

@@random-content6969 be assertive not aggressive. Setting boundries "bhai mat le it's mine" thats it. Not in a passive tone or aggresive just setting the boundry and if a fight was to happen such is life

@@basedpusio acha tu bhi indian hain.
Bro I'm really introverted. Can you help me with more advice.
In college, during group project. I tried to offer a suggestion for group idea "scalping". I got ignored because there was another extroverted guy dominating the conversation.
Again, I want to be heard during conversations. So how do I become acknowledged in conversations?
Im only good at one on one conversations when I open up

Just stare at them and ask 'why ?' And tell them they didn't pay for it. And if they say something, don't say anything back , stare at them again. Make it awkward for them.
If they repeat the same thing next time, tell them you don't like it.
