You could argue that with bland pop stars but oasis doesnt just appeal to one or three set of audience. So yes, oasis were the best at that short period

Aproveitando o sucesso do Morning Glory de 1995 (What's The Story), um ano antes deles perfurarem a bolha com o exagerado 'Be Here Now', os shows encontraram a banda no auge de seus poderes.
Eles foram apoiados pelos The Charlatans , Manic Street Preachers , The Prodigy , Elenco , The Chemical Brothers e Kula Shaker em uma celebração única de domínio do Britpop.
Sobre as maiores conquistas da banda nesse determinado dia estão
1. Dois milhões e meio de pessoas solicitaram ingressos
Mais de quatro por cento da população solicitou ingressos para ver o Oasis em Knebworth, a maior demanda de ingressos para shows da história britânica. Incríveis 250.000 pessoas puderam ver a banda durante duas noites - outro recorde - mas, incrivelmente, o Oasis poderia ter vendido outros 18 shows de Knebworth.
2. Acredita-se que havia 7.000 pessoas na lista de convidados
Este número provou ser impossível de verificar, mas os relatos de testemunhas oculares certamente retratam um excesso inigualável de bastidores. De acordo com Roy Wilkinson, escrevendo para The Quietus , "A recompensa nos bastidores dos shows do Oasis em 1996 em Knebworth foi surpreendente. Não só foi um palco personalizado para o evento, mas 11 torres de alto-falantes foram erguidas a distâncias cada vez maiores do palco para que aqueles mais para trás pudessem sentir toda a força dos poderosos acordes de Noel e do rugido guloso de Liam. Como o sonoplasta Rick Pope revelou ao Sound On Sound : "O Liam queria o seu vocal incrivelmente alto". Isso significava que os microfones eram tão poderosos que "alguém chegaria a 10 pés de um microfone e você ouviria a respiração deles". O áudio do show foi feito por uma empresa chamada Britannia Row, cuja primeira comissão foi o Pink Floyd em Knebworth em 1975.
4. Os concertos tinham até sua própria estação de rádio
Rádio Supernova transmitido em 106.6 FM dentro de um raio de 20 milhas do site. Qualquer pessoa que sintonizasse era regalada com hinos do Oasis de parede a parede, além de músicas das várias bandas de apoio, informações sobre o site e notícias sobre viagens.
5. John Squire teve gripe quando foi convidado em Champagne Supernova
Para muitas pessoas, um dos destaques dos shows de Knebworth foi a aparição da lenda de Mancun, John Squire. Tendo saído do The Stone Roses alguns meses antes, o guitarrista apareceu para tocar um pouco mais de magia em Champagne Supernova e I Am The Walrus. Como Noel Gallagher mais tarde revelou ao NME, ele fez tudo enquanto sofria de gripe: "Quando John Squire veio em Knebworth ele teve gripe, então ficou no ônibus todo o fim de semana ... Ele é um enigma e meio que flutuou diante disso, fez suas coisas e saiu novamente ".
6. VIPs receberam seus próprios binóculos da marca Oasis
Irônico, dado que o círculo VIP perto da frente era o único lugar onde você podia realmente ver a banda sem binóculos. A grande parede um telão vislumbrante para o Oasis, que era, na época, o maior ''video wall'' do mundo. Pelo menos isso significava que eles foram poupados do horror de ver o Liam muito pequeno.
7. Os Charlatans apoiaram Oasis apenas três semanas após a morte de seu tecladista Rob Collins.
Para os Charlatans, Knebworth era uma ocasião agridoce. Por um lado, representou uma justificativa para uma banda que foi considerada uma maravilha de um só sucesso no começo da década. Mas por outro lado, eles tiveram que fazê-lo sem seu tecladista carismático Rob Collins, que morreu em um acidente de carro apenas três semanas antes. Liam Gallagher dedicou de forma comovente a música do Oasis, Cast No Shadow, ao integrante da banda.
8. Houve apenas 10 prisões nos dois dias
O que é bastante surpreendente, dado o número de pessoas presentes. Como se viu, os fãs do Oasis são um grupo particularmente respeitador da lei. Ou apenas muito discreto.
9. Noel não lembra de nada
Como diz o velho, se você se lembra do Britpop, você não estava lá. E a memória de Noel desses dias felizes é certamente irregular. "Genuinamente, agora, se eu fechar meus olhos, não me lembro de andar no palco em Knebworth", ele disse a Kirsty Young em Desert Island Disks. "Eu sei que aconteceu porque haviam muitas pessoas lá."
10. Um membro do Oasis acha que deveria ter se separado imediatamente depois
"Sempre achei que deveríamos ter desistido depois da segunda noite em Knebworth", disse o guitarrista Paul 'Bonehead' Arthurs ao The Guardian em 2009. Em retrospecto, é fácil ver que o Oasis nunca superaria o Knebworth, nem recapturaria o poder que impulsionou ao Knebworth. nos primeiros dois álbuns clássicos. Mas quais bandas são corajosas o suficiente para sair quando estão na frente? Bonehead acabou trocando suas fichas em 1999 e voltou a ser um cara normal.
