This song makes me feel like life is worth living it. No matter what happens throughout our lives, it can always come back to feeling it this way. It's like this song is telling us the way the natural state of feelings should feel when living them. Undescribable!!!!
This is exactly how I feel about the song. It really encapsulates the “It is what it is” feeling for me LOL. It makes me feel more accepting and at peace with how life is and I think that’s really important for people to feel in any stage of life.
I watched Samurai champloo last year. In one of the episodes towards the end of the series, this song sounded. Hot summer, the day was coming to an end, I watch this series, and start to cry.
Two years ago I left my home country because of repressions and government going after my father and my mother. Year before my departure. Somewhere in July or June I was going to have a night over with my two friends but then one of them left because of some made up reason and the other one had to go to his guitar courses. And I had to wait him for one hour and a half. So I just wandered around for a bit. While walking I found a video on UA-cam talking about Samurai Champloo soundtrack and Nujabes in general, I started liking what I was hearing and decided to listen to the soundtrack. And then, that exact second I started listening to the OST, the world around changed, I started looking on the so-called "houses" (old cement blocks) around me and just smiling. It almost feels like I finally started seeing life around me. After that day. I went for a walk every day to that specific place, I copied every move I made that day, and every time I went for a walk listening to Nujabes, my mood rised up and life started to make sense. When I listen to this track now, thousands of kilometres from my homeland and close my eyes. I can see same old buildings around me, birds singing, tall trees with green leaves. It feels like everything around comes together in a perfect picture. Rest in beats, Nujabes ❤️
I feel like time stops when I listen to this song, like I actually have hope in life and all that is reminded to me is how miamoto musashi never did give up his dream and how he just went to change is life for a better and makes me feel like I can do that too
No matter what time of year, when this song is playing the sun is always shining, there's always a light breeze blowing, and I can always hear the cicadas in the distance
This song gives me this feeling in my heart that makes my chest feel really heavy, as if my heart wants to just sink down . Ughh what an amazing feeling it is. It's like nostalgia but better.
This song makes me feel completely relaxed, looking out the window I see the system that I corrupted, but I see in the distance the sea with its dawn, and enjoying this song I remember that a person's system has composed it and that makes me feel so, and that makes me regain faith in humanity. Thanks.
Orange sodium lamps like a spectre sherpa on a warm summer night, waving his dim hand it "here, this way young man." And he fills the boulevards and winding neighborhood streets upon streets with something like colorless hope; there's only the moon hiding among the dark clouds above, dark windows where people move like shadows behind them, and the sound of my bike chain spinning to the tune of this song. Neon night in the city outskirts. This youth won't last forever, and it ain't even a happy youth, but it's full of florid sadness. At least it has flavor.
In all these years on youtube I have read a lot of comments, and so many beautiful ones from as many beautiful people, but for the first time I think I have found a brother. I couldn't agree more, have said something different or something better than what you wrote; and I really feel it as my own, it resonates with me in a certain way: the sodium lamps, bike rides through the night listening to wistful music, dense and heavy midsummer memories- fuck, even Justinian haha, as much of a minor detail as it is, it all seems so surreal The only thing I really regret is not being able to express it here as I would like to, English not being my native language and struggling a bit when talking about such delicate things hah Anyway, I really thank you for what you have written, and I hope we can both have fun, at least for a while, in our remaining years of youth. I will give it a try, regardless of how difficult or vain it will be Looking forward to the next, blazing summer
Best music of all time, idk why but it catch me to another dimension, a dimension where all issues are gone. I really want to accomplish great things with this music, like a friend who support me in good moments such as bad one. Thx Nujabes, you can Rest in Beats now ;)
this is not lo-fi, in fact 99% of nujabes tracks cant even be considered anything close to lo-fi, this is real hip hop, boom bap... dont disrespect his name by putting the lofi label on it, it carries the weight of lazy "artists" who believe they create something.
@@Theventurerbro are you retarded or what? nujabes is not lofi, dilla is not lofi, they dont become lofi if someone says they are, they literally arent.
@@ArceeAutobots I appreciate that you want to expose people to new music, that"s good, but the original song wasn't exactly a "hidden gem." It was already a very famous song to begin with. It got slightly more popular after it was remixed and used in the anime but Samurai Champloo didn't really dig up a forgotten or obscure song. At least fourteen other artists have recorded versions of the Lamp is Low, including some really famous individuals like Ella Fitzgerald, Glenn Miller, and Laurindo Almeida.
