- Having recently graduated from Suncoast Technical College, Lorena Brady established Suncoast Tooling in her family’s garage with a single Haas Mini Mill. Rapid growth in the first 9 months led to the addition of a second mill, a Haas TM-1P with an HRT160 SP for 4-axis machining. A second HRT160 SP was purchased soon after and added to the Mini Mill so both mills could be loaded with more parts, for longer run times.
Lorena shares her inspirational story as a female machinist and job shop owner, while also discussing a few recent jobs including an award prototype for Tesla.

I almost started my garage business with a Haas but but got a Syil X7 instead, it was way more affordable and just as capable. All the proprietary stuff and arm and a leg for addons that should be included really turned me off from Haas.
I did the same. I run a haas vf2 at work and a syil x7 at home. Really nice and very capable machine for way less cost.
