My girlfriend finally left her abusive husband after 25 years. She was the breadwinner in the marriage . He refused to work and there was financial abuse amongst other things. When she finally got the courage to divorce him after getting a restraining order, she had to pay her abuser alimony. Women that are abused and finally decide to leave their abusive husband, should not have to pay him alimony!
She looks like she could be your sister. Two beautiful people ✊🏾

Even after he nearly killed me, I wanted him back. It was a total mind fuck! My bff didnt believe me until I was hospitalized and apologized. I watched so many Oprah episodes but I just couldn't, and it took me nearly dying before I literally left the country to stay away! Ashamed to saw him while back home for a bit.... TOTAL MIND FUCK!!!

I am for it all but I really wish the media was more responsible in stating domestic abuse. Please for the love of God, start the conversation with both genders being abused. I was in an abusive relationship for 8 years and was stabbed 3 different times and afraid to leave because I didn’t want to leave my kids without protection from her. It ain’t just men beating women and it ain’t just physical abuse as well! Be transparent and understand the media controls the wide range of social perspectives on numerous topics like this one. I didn’t think I could be abused because I’m a man and because the fact of my social upbringing had me thinking it’s not possible for a man to be abused.

Also, people have to realize it’s not easy for folks to just up and leave their abusers. These people have to move smart to get out. Their abusers have already trapped their minds.

I grew up in a ‘poor’ community in Jamaica. The man went to work outside the home and the woman stayed (worked) home. One day the woman came down to the square and was chatting it up with her friend. The man came home apparently early and walked passed her and went home up the hill. She knew it was time to go. Next it was screaming and cussing. He beat her up. She stayed. Money doesn’t dictate if a man abuse a woman or not.
Tell dem again. Smh. Women don't just stay in these situations because the men are rich. Women stay with broke men too.
