- Russian Soviet era 2S4 Tyulpan mortar system, or Tulip after the spring flower, is a self-propelled, 30 ton, tracked vehicle with a huge 240mm mortar.
The Tyulpan mortar system is the largest mortar system in use today
Russian Soldiers are shown firing in Eastern Ukraine. Footage recorded over 3 months shows the Russian crews developing firing operations using shoot and scoot tactics as they attempt to avoid counter fire from Ukrainian forces.

Excellent commentary
Frankly despite the even headed commentary the narrator still feels like they are coping as they sound so depressed and sad. this thing lands a round ANYWHERE CLOSE to you and your not inside a reinforced position or a basement YOU ARE DEAD from the massive blast wave and tons of shrapnel this thing would kick up. Also the fact only 4 of these are confirmed destroyed after this long despite being "OUTDATED" makes me laugh. can you imagine of this was firing AIR-BURST rounds???
Not accuracy at all ... They should shoot 4 times to adjust to destroy one target , Howitzer one shoot one target destroyed ...
This isn’t a howitzer it’s a mortar…… and it’s a huge round.
@@sungukyun2608 i didn't " say " that's a Howitzer , Howitzer is a mortar too , this mortar is made by old technology , new mortars have better Accuracy even are making smart guide with the same mortar Shell you put the head point and IS ready to shoot ...
Doesn't Matter the size the mortar " Machine " should have good accuarcy to shoot the target ...
@@nistaffsubs6787 Yea it doesn’t mean this isn’t a devastating weapon system especially with the more modern semi guided rounds this thing can use. End of the day you wouldn’t want to be on the receiving end of this. It’s not all about what’s on paper.

DUDE this thing lands ANYWHERE NEAR YOU the pressure wave would kill you. it doesn't need to be precise.
