"Name one thing Modern Warfare changed" has me wheezing That line was the most generic video-game presentation line in the history of the universe and Dunkey's clap back was perfection
Modern Warfare made every game grey and very, very serious for a few years. Thanks for that, Modern warfare. I remember when Medal of honor was a fun game series and then they made Medal of honor warfighter. Remember when Battlefield and Call of duty were different games? Suddenly they were the same game. There was also the sniper ghost warrior game series. They didn't have the budged to make a whole CoD, so they only did the mission where you were a sniper but like sixteen times. So basically AAA games were really bad for a while. But I guess that means nothing really changed.

@@skandosh9025 The fallout 4 quest system was poorly designed, uninspired, and completely lacking in memorable content. Fallout new vegas was the high point of the series, exactly because of the strong writing of characters, quest design, world design and the story/lore. Bethesda lacks all of those things. I'm not even talking about the absolute disaster that was and still is Fallout 76. From everything shown during the showcase, Starfield is just 2015 fallout 4 in space, with randomly generated worlds that are completely uninteresting, completely bland and void of meaningful interactions. It's no man's sky but with crappy robotic facial animations and a quest system designed by an idiot that quite literally openly said he believes quests and stories should be simplistic action->reward systems with no meaningful content behind it whatsoever. Bethesda is dead, creativity-wise. Don't hold your breath. I know we're beating the rotten skeletal remains of a dead horse at this point, but I simply don't see why anybody would ever be excited about anything they release post 2011 (Skyrim was just as mediocre as fallout 4, but at least that game still had the benefit of the doubt at this point.)
@@RedFloyd469 funniest part is that New Vegas isn't even a Bethesda game, it was made by Obsidian. The bethesda game that I consider to have some of the best quests would probably be Oblivion or maybe Morrowind, but I'm a huge elder scrolls nerd so that may just be my opinion.

Back when open world was still innovative, I'm guessing the success of titles like TES: Oblivion, Skyrim, fallout 3, etc... had a huge impact on the industry. Then look at the ungodly hype surrounding Fallout 4 in 2015. You'd be an idiotic marketeer if you didn't at least try to capitalize off of trends. Unfortunately, that means a more severe lack of creativity. As if tight, detailed, attention-demanding level design is somehow less satisfying to play than a boring sandbox with nothing interesting happening anywhere other than the same random encounters over and over again at unrealistic rates.
@@RedFloyd469 But back then the open world's where more then only innovative, they where actually handcrafted worlds (like Morrowind) bringing an impression of what the developer had in mind, an 'atmosphere.' And sometimes you like the atmosphere it portrays or sometimes you don't. Same! I really hope that Sonic Team can pull off a good release this time, and it's obvious they can be capable of doing so. And if they do, an open-zone Sonic game where you can pick up speed quickly sounds amazing

HK-47 is easily the best droid in all of star wars. In Rogue One they came close with K-2SO but you can't top HK-47's sass, pure love of violence and disdainfully calling every living thing a meatbag.
HK’s characterization is much better in Kotor II. He actually kills people and isn’t just a joke character. Most things in Kotor II are better than the first

My gamer tag is actually a completely Star Wars name based on 3 deepish references and has HK-47 at the end like a CT number (yes ik CT numbers are supposed to be just numbers with no letters haha). I also really love and have a deep affinity for the lightsaber droid played by David Tennant in the Clone Wars and also the spider leg training droid that trained toddler Maul (at least in legends) so they’re fighting HK out for the 2nd spot but really I would say HK has that locked up tbh for me lol

Unironically, I appreciate that Dunkey seems to be one of the only people bold enough to call out the Heckin Wholesome indie game crowd for all doing the same thing. It's better than the AAA developers all doing the same thing and charging $80 for it, but it still deserves criticism. Seriously, having a frog in your game is no longer a unique selling point.
Not sure if this is bait, but what they mean is when Death Stranding was coming out it kept getting described as the first "strand" type game, even though it was just another open world game.
What I actually suspect is that it’s called Open Zone because the open world isn’t seamless; it’s probably 4 unconnected big maps, so that lack of connection makes them more like Zones in the other Sonics and less like traditional open worlds where it’s entirely one big seamless map
This was the first “E3” that I didn’t really care about. I used to be so excited and watch every livestream, but now I just find myself sifting through game trailers and look at the stuff that I potentially care about. Dunkey’s round-up of things are always a treat though.

It's surprising that Alan Wake was known to like three people while I was in high school and in college like none at the time of that game's release it was completely a breadth of fresh air The atmosphere, the dark elements, the characters, the music, the whole path view of the chapter, and then the optional document collection like how we do in Control to understand the phenomenons that happen around Remedy is the only studio whose games are rather suggested than told Alan Wake was hype for me in Control's second DLC expansion pack AWE
Is it unknown? It is fairly known among my friends, I thought it was widely known too. I played it and the atmosphere is tremendous but it gets repetitive very early in both gameplay and maps so in the end I didn't like it. Modern Warfare made every game grey and very, very serious for a few years. Thanks for that, Modern warfare. There was also the sniper ghost warrior game series. They didn't have the budged to make a whole CoD, so they only did the mission where you were a sniper but like sixteen times.

I'll never understand why every company thinks that every game has to be open world.

@@paulwaltersheherfeministvl521 you are that other bot axxl aren’t you? the one that says the most random bullshit ever
@@paulwaltersheherfeministvl521 aauauauau
Remember 10 years ago when watching E3 was exciting and awesome? Its such an insanely disappointing shell of its former self now 😢
Boohoo
@@ulquiorracifer9205 mad cuz true.
10 years ago you were a teenager or child. It's not worse, you've just matured.
10 years ago you had companies like Valve actually making games, now it's just the AAA expo
@@benedikta.9121 No it actually was better, do you not remember the early 2000s? It went from being an actual trade show where industry experts and veterans attended giving talks and showing stuff off. To today where it’s litterally only advertising, at worst the advertising used to get was during new console generations but even then it wasn’t so overproduced and corporate.
This makes Nintendo's 2008 E3 look like a masterpiece
I NEVER watch E3. I ALWAYS watch Dunkey's E3.
Tells me everything I need to know
Cuphead DLC is actually coming along with goat simulator 3(2). These were the only other things you needed to know
Oh yeah and slime rancher 2
Stormgate new rts which is hype too
Thanks so much for including FROG RPG in your video! That's me!! Our game is called "A Frog's Tale" and we are LIVE on Kickstarter RIGHT NOW! 🐸💚
seems like a cool game all things considered
Wow the official youtube channel! Wish you guys the best
I'm sorry but if it's not going to have big the cat looking for his frogy then I'm sorry it will not achieve its goal on kickstarter
froggieeeeee frogrggggg frog frog yesss ohh i love frog
@@keaton5101 yeah exactly that
The 'how the f**k would I know' is the funniest thing I've ever seen, sometimes watching Dunkey it's like having Robin Williams as a UA-camr, he's just on another level
This video is the one that made me realize Dunkey is a video game journalist I can get behind
I like how you touched on sonic having normal ground collision, but what really stood out to me from the trailer is seeing sonic be always perfectly perpendicular to whatever surface he's on, even if its only for the most brief amount of time. So there's definitely some jank going on, and it wouldn't surprise me if there will be collision issues in the final game.
I'm just excited for the soundtrack
They made him slightly magnetized to avoid these collision. Solving a problem with another problem lol. What's funnier is that Fro tiers looks like a fan Sonic game.
This really breaths my wild
@tdenzel101 Idk Jun Senoue and Tomoya Ohtani is working on it so I think it’s gonna sound great
"You don't play no games, you're only here to talk about Johnny Depp's trial or sum shit"
That's that sickest burn i've heard from Dunkey.
The trial was extremely entertaining and interesting though.
@@videowatcher5931 yes it was
