Today is an extra special video as we witness the traditional Ceremony of the Constable's Dues, held at the Tower of London! It involves Royal Naval vessels mooring at Tower Wharf to present the Constable with a barrel of wine - ‘Dues’. This centuries-old tradition is still upheld, with the wine ceremoniously escorted into the Tower by the Yeoman Warders and enjoyed once delivered to the King's House. Sit back, relax and enjoy the video! 👍👏🇬🇧
United States the State of Michigan. I have made visits to England, especially while serving in the United States Navy for 22 years retiring as a Chief Petty Officer. I had the honor to be led on a private tour of HMS Victory while my ship was in Portsmouth.
I am watching from the USA,Pennsylvania, I am disabled so being able to see other countries and their traditions is entertaining and educational. I enjoy the old world traditions still in place in England. I like your channel. It would actually be interesting to see inside the tower of London a virtual tour of sorts. For those in the world to see these places that have no hope of seeing these places in person but are still interested.
So lovely to see The Royal Marines, they are something special. My late Father was a Royal Marine for six years in WW2 and was very proud of having been one. A Life on the Ocean Waves always choked me up, they are always so smart at whatever they do.
As a former Royal Dutch Marine (1963-1967) now living since 33 years in Italy I enjoyed very much your video. A great tradition perfectly displayed in strictly military tradition.
This is wonderful being able to see this. I really wish I could be there. I was born close to where you are and do miss Britain. I now live in South New Jersey there is nothing close to this in America. Thank you for showing. 💂🇬🇧🇬🇧🌹💂💂🇬🇧🇬🇧
The helo was a Royal Naval helicopter from a Naval Air Squadron, possibly from Caldrose in Cornwall. The Operational Landing Craft were from 47 Commando (Raiding Group) Royal Marines, the band was from HMS Collingwood, and the marching contingent was from Commando Training Centre Royal Marines. Also present were RM veterans and RM cadets. After the ceremonial bit, we all retired to the Armoury and engaged in some socials, aided by some previously gifted "Dues!" A memorable day out for all concerned.
Watching from Australia. I love the Royals, best Band in the world and nice to know that the band members have to roughly run the Commando course during their training.
I am in Australia but was born in England, would you believe I am learning more about our history and customs from watching UA-cam than I ever learnt at school
Appears to be a USMC Colonel and a Royal Netherlands Marine Corps Lt. Colonel shaking hands with British Royal Marine vets at 25:30. Great to see both there solidifying the long standing bond between the three Marine Corps! Great vid! Thanks! Greets from L.A. USMC (1976-1980)
A helicopter landing demanding great skill and precision in somewhat inclement weather . Was the pilot that legend of aviation - harry ? More importantly - what a fine , historic and traditional ceremony , so wonderfully executed , as always . Congratulations today to the Royal Marines and to ALL participating to show this Country at its best and the best of this Country . And ….Thank you for so finely maintaining our fine historic traditions of both meaning and purpose . 🇬🇧
Yorkie Malone in Lamerton Devon UK and it is GREAT that the Royal Marines are carrying out this duty and it is great that there are TWO Kings Badge men carrying the OAR
So proud of the Corps. I love the 'Bandies' and marching behind them makes you feel 10ft tall and immensely proud. I spent my time in the corps from 1970 until 1980 and between 42 and 45 Cdo units. I'm 71 and I would do it all over again.
Good morning from Brisbane Australia. I have just found this as I start my day and am and I am looking forward to seeing it all. Please could you include the date of filming in your introductory sentence eg. "Good morning ,today is March 15 2023 and... This would be so great for having context of the events happening in real time. Really looking forward to this one.
I am watching from Ohio, USA, near Dayton. Having served for a month long exercise (WINTEX/CIMEX) at the Joint task force, Maastricht NL caves, 1982, I was privileged to serve with the British Army Security detachment. They had overall security there and had a few Royal Marines because of the proximity of the Albert Canal which flowed past the back cave entrance. Always vigilant and precise, these units are a credit to England, the royal forces, and represent British Forces around the world, in an exemplary fashion. Always enjoy watching since I subscribed a few years ago. They treated me with honor and a little amusement on occasion. I served the medical detachment there with a Belgium Medic, and was part of the USAFE Medical liaison for the exercise. I was the ONLY American in the caves at the time and I learned a LOT by watching daily operations. Good Memories and I was proud to serve and support the exercises. 🙂🙃❤💯
