Can’t fault the Ghurka’s , total dedication and professionalism in everything they do. Even when staggering out of a pub in Brecon they still try their best and are gentlemen even when staggering down the pavement 😁
Did not expect a military band to play a James Bond theme song while on parade. Just brilliant! Huge respect for the Ghurkas. Watching from Port Elizabeth, South Africa.
In 1989, I was lucky enough to be part of an exchange with the Gurkas and the Danish Royal Life Guard. We had 14 amazing days in England, with these amazing soldiers. It is an experience that we in our company 1/1 Royal Danish Life Guard will always remember with pride
Love the formation drill and ceremonial pomp and drill display, such order from soldiers who have seen battles in forign countries and back in UK still carry out close order drill. Well done carrying out traditions of close order drill martching. Praying for all these young men and woman.
It's always a great privilege to watch the mighty 💯Gurkhas... My late father (A dunkirk veteran) mentioned that the Gurkhas marched quickly to preserve the element of surprise on their enemy if I'm not mistaken. I very much enjoyed watching the video and as usual thank you for sharing! 💂❤ From U.K.
Good morning! I find "Speedy Gurkhas" so amazing, they are an excellent Brigade and Band! I think they have a bit different way of drilling (perhaps?) than the other Guards. Thank you for sharing this lovely video, a cheerful sight to start this new day! And have a nice day you too!!
They are Riflemen Like the Light Division The drill for the Light Division is different The pace and also other commands and movements. It’s easy once you know how!
@jameslynch-h8q Good afternoon Sir and thanks for your info. Yes, I've learnt about Gurkhas too, i've seen so many videos with them. Lately, they've made nearly all the Changing Guards, both in London and Windsor. They are fantastic, Brigade, Band and Bugles of the Rifles.
I am from Guatemala, In 1976 Guatemala had the idea of taking back the south part of Belize (not making a problem) I was 10 years old, and I remember people saying that we were going to lose not to England but to the Ghurkas, we have the Kaibiles and that was our hope, but even them they were know for been great soldiers, then I was an army officer and fought Marxist in the jungles of Guatemala close to Belize, and it was always in my mind, much respect to the Ghurkas
I was attached with 69 Ghurka Engineers in 1983 in Belize. Originally spent first 6 months with 9Para RE with 2 Para main infantry. Fantastic 9 months in Belize, went to Guatemala border just up from Stan Creek. Daughter born in Belize, now living with her husband in El Salvador. Stay safe amigo 👍
If anyone ever doubts these terrific guys, just look at the medals on display. Every conflict they've ever been involved in they have succeeded in their given goals plus earnt the respect and thanks of the other troops that worked with them.
@@johanea Come and say those words in the town where I live, we have a large number of Gurkha and Para veterans that served with each other that may disagree with you.
@@johanea You scoff at your own peril, ask the Argentinian survivors of the Falklands war. They were terrified of the Gurkhas, they called them the silent ghosts.
Amazing guys!!! When they first came out, I thought that they were carrying umbrella's. My first reaction was "what a British thing to do". But then I realized it was guns. Man, I am so blond some days LOL
Served in Malaysia with a Ghurka Regiment. They were absolutely fearless, and dedicated to the Crown. Small people with huge hearts. I would not want to be their enemy.
My grandsaon is in the signals. There is a Ghurka signals regiment on his base and they all go on exercises together. he says they are the nicest people you would ever wish to meet.
Been awhile since I watched I'm back ..hoping to see Brutus the horse. Plus they have improved on the horseguards area miss Peter hope he's doing fine. It came to this because people don't listen. Love your channel 🐎🐴❤
Actually the RAMC (Royal Army Medical Corps) holds more than that with 41 Victoria Crosses to the Ghurka’s 26 Victoria Crosses. Still a huge achievement of bravery by one & all! 🫡
ok then…so if we’re being pedantic about this…the 2nd Battalion Princess of Wales’s Royal REGIMENT has more with 57 VCs, there’s also the Royal Artillery (REGT) with 65 VCs…but it’s actually The Rifles REGIMENT that holds the title for the most VCs with 117! So the Gurkhas (REGT) have some distance to go to be close to the title of holding the most VCs!
My Dad had some association with Gorkhas during WW2. I myself had the privilege to serve with Gurkhas and work with Ex Gorkhas both Indian and Singaporean. All good guys but I particularly enjoyed the company of former battle hardened Indian Gorkhas. U P
Brilliant soldiers ,still can't believe the row over their pensions ,when you see the freebies given out to you know who ,it's scandalous. The Gurkhas Absolute Diamond soldiers .
Their marching is just short of a run. I was born during WW2 and I heard about the incredibly brave Ghurkas as fighting men. My mother also spoke about the Kings African Rifles and of course Sailor Malan. Because no one mentioned the fighting and suffering of the South Africans and the Rhodesians in WW2 and I had their own written testimony in members of my own family I was able to do research and write a book from the South African soldiers angle. And I avoid thinking of the disaster of Tobruk in which a relative was taken prisoner. An American General towards wars end had the South African soldiers (watching from Australia) stand in front of him. I have forgotten his name but it’s in the second book I wrote and he said they were a small band of the MOST HIGHLY DECORATED FOR BRAVERY soldiers of the Second World War. My uncles fought for five and a half years in WW2 starting by fighting the Italians in Abyssinia. Abyssinia is now divided and named differently.
Ghurkas should have dual nationality with the UK because they have fought on our side since 1815! Much respect from me 👍 No respect for the Labour gov. 👍🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Hampton, VA. Look up the videos showing what they go through just to be selected to become a Gurkha. Remember they are just young teenage boys and have the weight of supporting their family on their shoulders.
I remember my father telling me a story when he was in the army.. He was deployed in a very hot country and at night the Arabs stole kit from the stores and pilfered kit. There was hell to pay in the morning! After that the Ghurkas were sent to guard at night the stores and nothing again was touched by that Arabs.. 😂👍 He had the deepest respect for them…❤️
I think the actual RGR have lost their Band? I hope not? I have not seen them for years. I remember when they were at Church Crookham in spiders and white washed stones around camp. They have not been the same since HK handover. That had been their spiritual home. I haven’t seen a Sepoy pipe band for a long time now. I hope I am wrong.
The Ghurka regiment very hard to join as they demand the best of the best from Nepal …. Fast marchers and ferocious in battle. Their khuckiries are very sharp and designed for one purpose … A silent death to the enemy ! I once had one in the leather bound sheath probably from war time but gave it up for police destruction for obvious reason
They train as a fast light infantry regiment ready to cover ground quickly to get to their objectives. But also masters of jungle warfare their khukarie knifes are designed for a kill from behind but will easily take a limb off . I believe the regiment has the most Victoria cross medals awarded for bravery and numerous war citations !
I served in the US Navy and the Tennessee National Guard. There is much military history in my family. Therefore I would never insult any of our allies. However, I must say that the combination of the organ grinder monkey caps and the dress right cartoon shuffle is quite comical. Viewing from the Great Smoky Mountains of S/E Tennessee.
You might find it funny. Ask the germans about them. The ghurkas used to return to their own lines with severed german heads. In fact ask any modern day american soldier who has served abroad what they think of them
From where you are probably safely sitting shoe-less on your porch drinking a homemade JD substitute and playing 5 string banjo, you can poke fun and "dis" these Gurkha soldiers to your hearts content, but in the presence of one may I strongly recommend you don't introduce yourself as American and then do your little verbal comic routine.
Can’t fault the Ghurka’s , total dedication and professionalism in everything they do. Even when staggering out of a pub in Brecon they still try their best and are gentlemen even when staggering down the pavement 😁

I believe the Gurkha regiment hold the record for being awarded the most VC's "Brilliant".
Actually the RAMC (Royal Army Medical Corps) holds more than that with 41 Victoria Crosses to the Ghurka’s 26 Victoria Crosses. Still a huge achievement of bravery by one & all! 🫡
That’s a corps not a regiment.

We the Brits owe a lot to the " Gurkhas". Its great to see they are getting more and more senior Officers.😅
People underestimate the British military because they wear historic military uniforms.
