This is the Ci*21 interview they did on that spaces thing. I just started translating this, so part 2 and 3 will be posted later on. If anyone has already translated this, please let me know. I'll delete mine.
I DO NOT OWN THIS VIDEO OR THE CONTENT IN IT. I'm merely doing a fan translation. I'M NOT A NATIVE SPEAKER OF KOREAN OR ENGLISH. Please understand my typos.
*If you noticed any mistranslations, please let me know. I did this by ear, so some parts could be wrong. I'm constantly trying to fix any errors I notice after rewatching it.
*Explanation: for the rubber shoe nickname, as the user unfinishedidea pointed out, "rubber shoe" is a nickname used to people that send their lover to the military. As Seoham was enlisting that week, it was a reference to him.

when the director mention the way seoham expressed jaeyoung's feelings (in the "sangwoo without the cap" scene) with his eyes waaaah i get it!
if there's a thing that made me fell even more in love with SE is the way the actors could express everything so perfectly LIKE just by looking at jaeyoung or sangwoo eyes you could tell what they were thinking/feeling. such an experience.
of course i love the plot itself but while watching i could only think that if it wasn't for them SE wouldn't be the same. REALLY. and i can't even put in words how much i admire the director and all the team that worked to make it happen!

ikr? when i watched the series first then got intrigued with and read the webtoon upon knowing it was based off of it, all I thought when I first saw webtoon jaeyoung is that the artist must have based jaeyoung's physical appearance based on real life seoham. that really did a 360 on my mind since I kept going back and forth that the webtoon came first before the series.
i even had to double check which came first 🤣. then I found ou, i thought the casting and direcors really did good on finding the perfect jaeyoung.

Thanks for explaining that, I was trying to figure it out what was the meaning of it, but the other nickname, "The promotion committee on the reunification of Korea" got a good laugh too, and it was so creative, 🤣🤣🤣🤣. I'm glad Seoham had some opportunities to feel how much fans appreciated him and were feeling sad for his enlistment.

I love the director. She's the exact director you need for live adaptations because I think having the actors fit the image you and fans have of the original character is very very important and a very exciting moment of characters coming to life. Of course they need to be able to act. But it's just that extra umph of excitement

this was really helpful in many ways. for me, I always wanted clarification too as to why sangwoo suddenly stopped wearing his cap. i knew it must have symbolized something but I never really grasped it when i watched the series. but with them explaining the interpretation behind it, now I want to watch it all over again and act like I'm watching it for the first time but I immediately understood the nuance. ^_^
