Thanks a million for this video and the how to download windows 10 installer onto flash drive. I just purchased a SSD for an old laptop that the old hard drive died on. I never did anything like this before but your videos helped guide me through the process and I couldn't believe it but everything worked great without a hitch. Your videos were very descriptive and helpful. Thanks again for taking the time to make them
Actually the bit about downloading a fresh copy of W10 from MS with all the latest updates makes a lot of sense. I found this out the hard way when I recently upgraded to a Ryzen 5 1600. My old W10 installation files from 2015 worked fine with my old Core i5. However, when using it to install W10 on my new Ryzen 1600 Windows would constantly crash. The newer W10 download sorted this issue as it contains Ryzen specific drivers no doubt.
Like Your channel! Don't know why it's very difficult to find in youtube search. had to put in "tech deals channel" " tech deals" doesn't make it show up. I don't know why they make it difficult to find your channel. Thank you for your work. I subbed.
Nice video. Could be visually enhanced by cutting out the white space around the edge (move camera closer) which would then give a clearer view of what's on the monitor.
+Sk8sn0w Thanks! :) I started my channel Feb 29th of this year, so I'm still pretty new at this. I figure the sub count will grow with time, or at least I hope! :) My goal is to publish a video every day, it hasn't happened yet, but I'm trying!
+Sk8sn0w Thank you for the kind words... as for questions, post away... it will give me ideas on what to film next. At the end of the day, the way to grow my channel (at least I believe) is to film stuff that is useful to people. So if there is something you want to see or know about, post a question and I'll keep it in mind for a video.
+Tech Deals What are the powersupplies you recomend? What's the difference between retail and OEM OS'es? How do you properly clean out a casefan? How to improve cable management?
I am almost finished with my first build. I watched video from other tech guys, but it is you who went into more details on how to do this. Thank you! By the way, how's your Philips 4k monitor doing?
Thank you for always creating useful videos. I don't think this video could be shorter unless you would cut out of the useful information. Some UA-camrs leave out stuff because they probably not took into consideration that not everyone is tech savvy. Thank you again.
Great video. Do you have videos any on transferring just the Windows10 Operating System to a SSD and leaving the HDD in the computer? I would like to have just the OS on the SSD for fast boot up but keeping large data files on the HDD or external HDD.
Hi I have a sdd with my programs but lost a boot mbr from it, so want to take it out put ssd in 120g for a new windows boot . then put my sdd back in with a slave to still use my software but it is set at win 8.1 would the win 10 run my cad program still?
So I have some troubles with my version of windows 10, itstarts the new update every day, and every time it gives me an error code, which weird since the error code stands for not meeting the minimum system requirements, but when I start the update, it clearly says my pc does meet the requirements. I also tried everything microsoft says you can do to fix an error but nothing works, the only thing I haven't done yet is to do a fresh install of windows 10, but will I have to enter a product key again? if so, is there a way I can find my key? I bought a pre-build pc so I never had to enter the code. Thanks for the great video, it really helped me, i'll be sure to follow your guidelines when I'm sure I'll have to do a reinstall!
One thing I would have liked to see is full screen enlargement of your monitor. I couldn't read one thing on the monitor while it was sitting on your desk.
Most laptops will have all this installed by Windows automatically. In the few cases where it doesn't work, the manufacture should have drivers on their web site.
Very informative, easy to follow, step by step guide video. Your videos have helped me greatly. Everything I need to know and nothing I don't. My only criticism is that initially you have a used car salesman persona with the big pearly white grill. Once you get past the first minute, you know that's not the case.
Hey Tech when I'm at this point can you help me out through it with my Cadillac build just need a few more things and then I'll be ready to get the software part
I have a version of windows 10 which was a free upgrade from windows 8, I believe its a a digitally signed product key and I do-not have any such key which I need to insert during installation. how will my windows 10 get activated ?
I have brand new ssd drive installed on my pc, does plugging the windows 10 usb drive is enough? Or do I need to make sure the windows 10 usb to be selected as a boot drive?
Glad you like it, thanks... As for an SSD, what specifically do you want to see? In general, a SSD installs the same way a HDD does, just make sure your BIOS is set to AHCI and not IDE, if that is even an option anymore.
ive try used both pen drive&cd but d installing process keep repeating even thou it has complete & it didnt restart automatically to proceed next stage
Thank you for the video but i have question. I'm looking to upgrade my pc that had windows 8.1 pre-installed on it. I upgraded to windows 10 with microsoft's free offer. Will i still be able to transfer this version of windows to the new pc?
Thanks for watching... Generally no, you can't move it... You don't have a Windows 10 Licence Key, you have what MS now calls a "digital entitlement". Their servers know the motherboard you upgraded Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 is now legally allowed to have Windows 10 installed on it forever for free and be forever activated. If you try and install Windows 10 on a new computer or another computer with a different motherboard, it won't be activated because they can detect this (each motherboard/CPU combo has a unique digital signature that cannot be copied AFAIK). This being said, you *might* be able to do a clean install on the new machine before July 29th and use the Windows 8.1 product key and it may well work. Or it might not. That is illegal AFAIK since you're using one Windows licence in two places at once.
Note: If you need to buy a new Windows 10 product key, allow me to point you here: www.kinguin.net/category/22175/windows-10-home-oem-key/?r=16617 That is where I get my copies of Windows from, I've bought 5 so far and they all activated over the Internet like normal for me...
When We download 10 to the flash drive, we didn’t get any of that question & answer box window. It was just the pick the “download to USB “ and it started downloading.
Also, don’t understand about the account. Is that a Microsoft account you typed in. What do you mean a local account? Should I just put in my email address?
Can pc be forced to use USB drives as a makeshift SSD instead of slow hard drive? Will using USB3.0 (or even 2.0) be faster than the slow hard drive? Or is USB like extra RAM instead of a HHD or SSD? So if I have only 4G RAM--will USB3.0 act like extra RAM? What is RAM speed in comparison to USB3.0--10x, 20x,... as fast? I have only 4G DDR3(1600MHz) for RAM--should I rather buy USBs than extra RAMs?
i don't have another PC do it it from the one I've got is windows vista and it wont let me open it there and the rest of the house is macbooks what do i do?
+topgear235 RBLX The media creation tool won't open on Vista? I've read others who were able to, are you updated to the latest service pack with all updates installed? In any case, keep in mind that Vista doesn't qualify for a free upgrade to Windows 10, so this tool doesn't really help you without a Windows key. If you buy a copy of Windows, you might want to get one that comes with a USB key provided if you don't have access to the ability to make one. Window 10 Full Retail USB - $120 amzn.to/1OuRzUk That provides a retail licence that can be installed on one computer, but can be moved to another computer if needed Windows 10 OEM System Builder - $87 amzn.to/1TfH4qa That copy is cheaper, but once married to your system via activation, can't be moved again. Another option for the next 2 months is a copy of Windows 7 Windows 7 - $40 amzn.to/1OuRGzm The trick to using that is you'll have to make your own Windows 10 USB stick, but you can use the code for Windows 7 for the next 2 months to install and activate Windows 10. Once you do it, the code is good on that machine forever, but like the OEM above, is married to that machine.
why would people still use 32bit computers, reason i sat cuz there very Limited to installing apps, or programs, soon they will just stop making apps or programs for 32bit, probably already have..i have a 32Bit, laptop, but i also have the option to go into bios, and choosing between 32Bit or 64Bit, i come to find out it is a little slower when i chose 64Bit but i can later install an SSD and fix the problem....Panasonic Toughbook CF-53
Hi, I tried doing this with windows 7, but when i run the installer it goes unto low a low resolution then my keyboard and mouse stop working. Any idea how to fix it? My computer is the Asus m32 gaming edition
+ComputerExpert69 That is a good question... I haven't done a clean install of Windows 7 in awhile, so honestly I don't know what to tell you. Are you on a Skylake CPU using the integrated graphics? My understanding is that Windows 7 has limited support for Skylake. That was my first thought, but it might not be it.
+Tech Deals No, I was using the Asus R9 370 that came with the computer. However, I installed the integrated graphics so I could use multiple monitors. What do you think I should do?
+ComputerExpert69 Install Windows 10. :) Ok, that might not be the answer you wanted, but I suspect it will fix the problem. Re: installing the integrated graphics, what do you mean? Normally you can't use the iGPU if you have a dedicated GPU installed, or do you have an AMD CPU and you're running in crossfire? (it supports that, I think, my AMD experience is more limited).
+ComputerExpert69 Ahh, I must have misunderstood the first question. It sounded like you weren't able to get past the initial setup screen to clean install Windows 7. If you're in Windows 7 itself, I would run Windows Update first and let it find drivers for the AMD 370 card, then download and install the updated AMD drivers directly from AMDs web site.
Wait... So what I can do, is; - Download windows 10 64-bit from this windows 7 32-bit pc. - Get the stick into my new pc, and unpack windows 10 on that. - Have windows 10 on my new pc and windows 7 on this old barrel ? I can choose windows 10 on my new pc, but it will cost me more money when I choose 64-bit. I dont really have the money to choose 64 bit since i am already at top now. Or should i just buy the cheapo win7 on the new pc and upgrade via that pc and windows itself to win10 64-bit? What is better, win 10 or win7 ? Sorry for spamming with questions.
While you can do that, the new machine would not be activated and thus not be a legal copy. What you can actually do depends on what type of licence you have on your old machine, but if it is an OEM copy (one that came with a computer), you can't transfer it to another machine, it is tied to your motherboard. Allow me to share where I get my copies of Windows 10: www.kinguin.net/category/22175/windows-10-home-oem-key/?r=16617 I have bought 5 copies of Windows 10 here among other programs, I have not had any issues. You would simply use the key from there when you install Windows 10. It'll activate over the Internet like normal. Another option, if you do it before July 29th is to buy Windows 7 and install Windows 10 using that key: Windows 7 - $42 amzn.to/219zPEF It does not matter if you buy the 32-bit or 64-bit version, the keys are interchangeable, you can install whichever version you want, so long as it is a clean install (upgrade installs cannot switch). You do not have to install Windows 7 before installing Windows 10, even if you use a Windows 7 key (so long as you have a fresh USB stick with Windows 10 on it, the launch version wouldn't do this, but versions made since about Feb will. Fun stuff, huh? :)
Oh oke, so I have to buy a license on my new pc. This pc had an XP license (Bought the win7 later, since at that time this e5200 was fine with xp 'gamers windows' After a while xp was thrown out of the door so I bought a win7 license, also because I putted a new WD 1tb hdd in it.) I want to keep this pc, and buy a completely new one which i can customize/upgrade later too. (This e5200 pc really cant... i dont want to put effort in changing anything in here when i can buy a new i7 with Waaaaaaaaay better stuff that IS customizable and upgradeable in the future) It says I can choose which windows I want on. Windows 10 home, pro , 32bit, 64bit. windows 7 home, pro, 32bit and 64bit. The windows 7 is 10 euro cheaper. Ill buy the new pc in 2 weeks, so yeah i have time to upgrade. Basically i can choose the cheapest windows 7 3-bit, and upgrade to 10 - 64bit, right?
Yes, you can buy Windows 7 and rather than upgrade, do a clean install. But you can only do this until July 29, when Microsoft ends that deal. If they pre-install Windows 7 - 32-bit, then you can't "upgrade it" to 64-bit, but you can wipe the drive and do a clean install of Windows 10 - 64-bit and it will accept the Windows 7 product key. At least until July 29th. :) Note: Once you've done the "upgrade" by installing and activating Windows 10 using that key, then you have Window 10 for life, that Windows 7 key will always work to activate Windows 10, at least on THAT computer (specifically, that motherboard) because it will be registered in Microsoft's computers. You just have to do it by July 29th.
+Forever Terrible If you don't enter a product key, then Windows will work more or less, but it will put a nag notice up and ask for a product key. It also won't let you personalize anything without a key.
+Forever Terrible You need a product key from somewhere. You can use (until July 29th) a Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 product key, or you need a Windows 10 key. After July 29th, you'll only be able to use a Windows 10 key (unless you have used the 7, 8, or 8.1 key on that machine before).
+renick wade No, you need a Windows product key to activate it. I simply didn't enter it when installing. You can do so, but you can also enter it later after Windows is installed.
Just speechless ... Your video just walked and old man that still uses a flip phone though a complete clean install. Bravo Young Man !
yes sir i totally agree

found this after seeing another video that didn't say anything about the "partition" thing and got worried, thanks for explaining properly
This is a great video for us folks that are not techies.
Very helpful. I have watched a number of your videos. Very easy to understand and not too technical to follow. Thank you for that.
Thank you so much for this video. It was very informative and easy to follow. I just did my first clean install ever!
You're very welcome, glad it was helpful! :)

+Jeremy B OBrien Thank you! Yes, I probably need to change the name, "Tech Deals" is a bit generic. I'm open to ideas! :)
You're a talented speaker. Keep on providing us with useful content.
Thank you my friend. This is a other video that saved me a lot of time and trouble. Really great. Thanks.
Exactly what I wanna say as well!
Thanks, that had to be the clearest and most concise how to for a windows install I have seen... Excellent. :)
Amazing. You make this so easy thank you so much. Thumbs up and subscribed.
VERY GOOD AND UNDERSTANDABLE TectDeal
Nice video. Could be visually enhanced by cutting out the white space around the edge (move camera closer) which would then give a clearer view of what's on the monitor.
Always someone bitch and complain , wowww
Dude, by looking at your content, how can you only have 181 subs? You deserve more!!

Window 10 Full Retail USB - $120
amzn.to/1OuRzUk
That provides a retail licence that can be installed on one computer, but can be moved to another computer if needed
Windows 10 OEM System Builder - $87
amzn.to/1TfH4qa
That copy is cheaper, but once married to your system via activation, can't be moved again.

Another option, if you do it before July 29th is to buy Windows 7 and install Windows 10 using that key:
Windows 7 - $42

It does not matter if you buy the 32-bit or 64-bit version, the keys are interchangeable, you can install whichever version you want, so long as it is a clean install (upgrade installs cannot switch).
This pc had an XP license (Bought the win7 later, since at that time this e5200 was fine with xp 'gamers windows' After a while xp was thrown out of the door so I bought a win7 license, also because I putted a new WD 1tb hdd in it.)
I want to keep this pc, and buy a completely new one which i can customize/upgrade later too. (This e5200 pc really cant... i dont want to put effort in changing anything in here when i can buy a new i7 with Waaaaaaaaay better stuff that IS customizable and upgradeable in the future)
It says I can choose which windows I want on.
Note: Once you've done the "upgrade" by installing and activating Windows 10 using that key, then you have Window 10 for life, that Windows 7 key will always work to activate Windows 10, at least on THAT computer (specifically, that motherboard) because it will be registered in Microsoft's computers. You just have to do it by July 29th.
ty!
What is the difference if I clicked I don't have a product key or I bought one
+Forever Terrible If you don't enter a product key, then Windows will work more or less, but it will put a nag notice up and ask for a product key. It also won't let you personalize anything without a key.

+Tech Deals do I have to buy a product key or do I have to buy the Windows disc and use that product key
+Forever Terrible You need a product key from somewhere. You can use (until July 29th) a Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 product key, or you need a Windows 10 key. After July 29th, you'll only be able to use a Windows 10 key (unless you have used the 7, 8, or 8.1 key on that machine before).
is this activated?
+renick wade No, you need a Windows product key to activate it. I simply didn't enter it when installing. You can do so, but you can also enter it later after Windows is installed.
bro my hardrive was corrupt and I lost windows. spent 80 dollers for them to reinstall windows man. I couldve done it all myself hahahahahahhaa
Starbucks isn't that expensive, but sometimes it sure feels that way. haha
what do you do if u get a notification that that your kid tried to visit a 18+ site (you know what i mean ;)
Windows 10 seems like bloatware. Shame they're pushing the functionality loss if you don't use win10 with the skylake cpu's.
Don't you have to buy windows 10???
you can use window 10 for free but it have "activate Windows " watermark on the bottom right
Fat 32?
Very helpful. Thank you!
