In this video we cover the basic diagnosis of a grinding lower unit and how to adjust the shift cables. We show how the clutch dog makes grinding noises when the cables are not adjusted properly. We will instruct you on how to adjust the cables to resolve the grinding noise on the lower unit. In this video we show a Johnson V4 gear set and Johnson V6 lower unit however, this should be the cable adjustment for any outboard motor.
