Iberostar Cozumel Resort Review 2023

- This is my second time visiting this resort and it never fails to disappoint. The Iberostar is located at the West side of the Island and features some of the most amazing diving locations that the island has to offer! It is open to Dressel diving and 4 of their boats at the dock here. This is an all inclusive resort that offers top notch service at affordable prices with a beautiful grounds. Even when this resort is packed, it never feels overcrowded which is an amazing thing. There is nothing worse then a resort that feels packed.
"It will take some time to master where your room is." Especially about midnight, after you've finished with the bars and music/dancing.
Greatest vacation spot I've ever been to. My goal was to shut down, do nothing, dine from convenient delicious buffets, exercise every morning then drink beer by the pool all afternoon while reading then listening to music. The shows at night were stupendous. The Entertainment Team was just great. All of the support staff and cleaning folks were terrific.
Very first time there, I got a beer and went to sit alone and undisturbed looking at the beach and ocean. Suddenly, a guy appeared. I thought, "Oh (heck), what does HE want?" He politely asked, "May I bring you more beer, sir?" It was the beginning of a beautiful friendship, and let me tell you I tipped everyone heavily.
Yes, this was the first year I haven't gone to Cozumel and I absolutely missed it. I spent two weeks in Utila instead.

i love how this place has barely changed since i went as a kid, hoping to take my long term girlfriend here next year on our 4 year anniversary
I can't wait for another chance to get back there! This will be the 2nd year now that I haven't gone there and I miss it.
We returned for the fourth consecutive year in October. We had a toilet that would run by the minute our entire time there. We had maintenance out four different times and even recorded the sound. They just waited us out. Stay away from room 3104, apparently it can't be fixed. So sad it was our worst visit there.
Sorry to hear that. I know when I go, I am barely in the room so I probably wouldn't even notice.
I know what you mean during the day, but all night long hearing it was annoying beyond belief. We were a group of six and our hut was the only one with this problem.

Yep, they can do afternoon dives at any of their regular places. Make sure to book in advance.
What kind of rates does this place charge?
Like anywhere else, the rates keep going up and up but honesty, the rates at this place were lower then any other trip I have planned this year. Two years ago I paid $1750 for a Single Occupancy including flight from Toronto roundtrip as I was staying there solo. This year it was $2050 for a Double Occupancy each for my Son and I.
I love the beach here. A pro tip is to enter on your butt and push yourself backwards facing the shore. once you float you can go on belly and easily get to deep water without water shoes
As someone who enjoys a nice beach, that does NOT sound like a good time but I guess it does work. ;) When we went out to the water there it was probably the WORST time as the waves were really bad. I can see this working a lot better on a calm water day. :)
Were there a lot of mosquitoes?
@nadsingh I have always gone in Feb and have never seen any, but they do give you all natural bug repellant in the rooms. With that in mind, there probably is some there.
@@nadsingh depends on time of year.... in summer yes there can be but watch out for sand fleas. They aren't too bad and the water is worth it

Yes, absolutely. I have yet to visit a resort that limits that.
