We just came back from our cruise with a stop in Cozumel. On a whim, my wife and I decided to try the Lucha Libre (Mexican wrestlers) experience, which included tacos and margaritas. Neither of us our wrestling fans per se, but this excursion hit one of our all time favourites for it's entertainment and value. The guides, team members and wrestlers were at their best and the interaction/energy was contagious. The event takes place literally down the road from the cruise port (a short 5 minutes drive). Honestly, I couldn't recommend this excursion more, especially if you have kids - the entire audience got involved it was awesome!
Thank you so much for your great videos!!! If we can only go to a resort either in Costa Maya or Cozumel, which place do you think is a better option for resort? Thank you.
If you are a drinker don't go to Mr Sanchos the drinks are watered down had like 10 long Island ice teas and left that place sober the cruise before went to paradise beach and don't remember getting back on the ship and didn't drink half the drinks I had at Sanchos
In our experiences, the private locations have always been better than cruiseline excursions. The greatest benefit to a cruise line excursion is transportation from the port. However, as you can see in the video, getting a taxi at the Cozumel cruise port is extremely easy and efficient!
Unless you get wasted at the location and are not able to step right out to the curb and catch a taxi, it’s highly improbable you would miss the ship. The folks who miss the ship are usually (yes, there is always a rare exception) intoxicated and ignoring the time. All these locations have taxi cabs waiting right outside the resort.
In Cozumel I noticed that you said to get a taxi you had to go through one of the buildings I've watched other videos and it looked like it was a big thatched open air building. Is there a different ports that maybe you were at ours goes to Puerta Maya Cozumel. Can you verify where you get the taxes to go to Paradise Beach?
Definitely at Cozumel it’s as shown at the first of video. We also have a Costa Maya port video, which shows the yellow building with a thatched roof out by the street. That might be what you’re thinking of. 👍🏼
Okay let me ask you this what pier are you at in Cozumel when you're showing the taxes are through a building. Because I have looked at 5 or 6 videos of Cozumel Puerta Maya, which is where carnival docks and it all shows the taxes are in a long open-air thatched roof area. And as you got off you showed a Margaritaville. In the Puerta Maya port can't see that.
@@victoriagalat8923hi! Yes there are different piers. The one you have seen is the Puerta Maya Cozumel pier. That one you go through the duty free shop building. Both lead to the same port shops.
If you like to lay on the beach, I would recommend nachi cocum because the beach area is close to everything and really beautiful. If you’re more of a pool person, I would recommend Paradise Beach because their pool area is much larger and their beach is less nice than nachi cocom.
The port in this video is called Punta Langosta. There are some Carnival ships that port here, along with many other cruise lines. However, Carnival ships also port at the Puerta Maya port in Cozumel. I am not familiar with that port.
My family and I have been to both several times and we like the Royal Caribbean port area better. They both have some of the same shops in them. The Carnival port is closer to a lot of the downtown shops and restaurants. The Royal one seems a little better maintained and easier to navigate. Either way, it's still Cozumel and you're on vacation. :D
@@TerryeToombs I agree, as long as I’m on vacation I’m not overly concerned. We don’t spend much time in the port area and mainly go to the Mayan Plaza area and do some more local restaurants and shops

Sounds like fun! Thanks for the review. 👍🏼

Thanks so much! I’d say Cozumel definitely.
Thank you so much! I appreciate your helpful videos and comments.
Carnival Celebration April 13, 2025…thanks for this video …I’m cancelling my excursion through carnival

I noticed the same. I drank TEN drinks, and only got a tiny buzz.
We are doing a carnival cruise here, but I’m wondering if I should go to one of these resorts then the ones offered on there site?
Is it scary to miss your taxi to get back in time?

I was using loungers at Mr. Sanchoz this past Feb, and wasn't charged anything extra. Maybe I slipped through?
Or it might change day to day based on occupancy. 🤷♀️
Did you like nachi cocom better than paradise beach? For a group of first timers who just want to relax, what do you recommend?

Welcome to your new addiction! 😂🚢 Have a great cruise.
Do you find that the port that primarily Carnival uses to better, the same or worse than this port?
