I have ridden the system for a few days now. My biggest gripe as of now, in terms of small things, is the lack of signage around the station (platform and concourse). Someone who does not live here will not be able to tell if this is a station or not, and where it is heading to, which can be bad if you cannot switch sides in a station with island platforms. They could have done something simple like: - LRT-1: - Platform A: To Roosevelt - Platform B: To Baclaran - LRT-2: - Platform A: To Recto - Platform B: To Antipolo - MRT-3: - Platform A: To North Avenue - Platform B: To Taft Avenue MRT-3 is the biggest offender since the signage is very lacking on platform level.

Yes you're right, the Philippines was the first to have a metro in SEA. But sadly, the Philippines is now lagging behind in infrastructure compared to its neighboring countries. Hopefully we will catch up in the next 5 years, lots of new metro lines under construction.
Had to ride this throughout my college days from Recto to Santolan, good old days. Definitely missing it. I still remember also riding this as a kid back in 2004, at that time I think the stations are only Santolan to Cubao..
When does this Extension will be finish? It's almost four or five years since it was started? Wazzupp guys! the mrt 7 had already the viaduct withnin a year and more than stations to be built. But the LRT East Extension has only two stations? What happened? PH?

They build roads, building establishments and houses/condo they had enough experience to provide the needed materials for the construction of LRT2 MASINAG.

The LRT and MRT brands are not based on what type of rolling stock it uses but rather on which company handles it. Those that are under LRTA like the one on the video are associated with "LRT" while the ones that aren't are branded as "MRT"

Long Story Short: Originally Named as MRT Line 2... but since the owner of this Railway is also by LRTA (Light Railway Transit Authority), People also call it now as LRT-2 because it is more comfortable to say and to use by the passengers/commuters. And also by the name of LRTA.

In some cases they actually have a driver operating the trains this is how they used to do it in 2003-2007
