@mystic_scythe I remember that creepypasta. I also read some of the tumblr. In both versions, she secretly got her little sister and some of her (Sweetie Belle's) friends into her shenanigans (bdsm stuff, sleeping with them ECT), so she definitely crossed all kinds of lines.
None of these come close to being as scary as the bronies themselves.

Simply being a brony isn't a bad thing, but there are some mega creeps in the fandom. But to be fair, creeps are in every fandom so it's not specific to bronies.

I think of the mane 6, Applejack's creepypasta is easily the best one, and for good reason. Just seeing her do whatever it takes to keep her farm from being taken by Filthy Rich, while going insane in the process to the point where she ends up killing anypony who stands in her way is a really unique concept and it was executed very well. The only real flaw I can say about it is Twilight herself and how she denied there being any potion involved in Applejack's episode despite the fact that she reluctantly gave it to her. Is it any wonder it got a sequel recently?
There is actually a sequel although it's fully release part 1 and part 3 has been released though by the lost narrator on UA-camr and on magpiepony's famfiction
the sequel is kinda shit, basically AJ escapes and come to kill twahlight blah blah blah ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
I wouldnt say it's a flaw, because there's actually a reason twilight is acting like that. ofc she's not going to take credit for all the terrible things AJ has done, but I will say it's not in her character to do so, so there is a theory about the story where twilight is a changling

Personally, one of my most favourite grimdark fics, is called "angel of mercy" it focuses on fluttershy, and isn't very gorey. I really enjoyed it, even if it gave me nightmares. I also wish there were more grimdarks of twilight. I feel like she's an underrated character in general. A lot of people mischaracterize her. I could be biased, since she's my second favorite, after pinkie.
I know that too. that one was soooooooooo goooooooood. a great twilight fanfic is "downfall" which does take the same concept of twilight experimenting, but does it so much better.

Man twilight deserved just like a better creepypasta because The Friendship Test (story abt starlight glimmer) is just The Experiments of Twilight Sparkle but better and executes the concept right. I’ve heard of other twilight creepypastas like The Last Report or Diary of a Time Looper but idk if they’re actually good :PP I’ve heard they’re good
Hey if your trying to find a good one for twilight, downfall is a good one it's like twilight experiments but it's simpler and better with more of a personal touch
Both are pretty good. If I remember correctly the last report does a really good job explaining depression and diary of a time looper showcases twilights “descent” if you will into madness as she is forced to repeat the same day over and over again.
My personal favorite Twilight one is Forever Faithful. Though I'll fully admit it's more for the concept than anything.

Hard Reset and it's sequels heads in a creepy direction for Twilight in one timeline due to timey wimey stuff.
If My Little Pony ever becomes public domain, I wouldn't be surprised if they actually do make a Rainbow Factory movie.

I actually think I have an answer to why that is. Cannibalism; _Cupcakes_ is partly about cannibalism, whereas _Rainbow Factory_ is about a"necessary evil". The pegasi control the weather and "have to" sacrifice ponies in order to do so, but Rainbow Dash is just a little too into it. Whereas Pinkie is not only killing for fun, she's specifically killing those close to her and *eating* them. Far more disgusting to the human mind, at least when we're comparing two objective evils. Dash really isn't doing the "exact same thing", more akin to a mad scientist than Hannibal Lector.

The comment above provides good points, but here's my take: The reason Pinkie is seen as scarier than Rainbow Dash is because it adds dimension.
Pinkie's characterization is that of a hyperactive bond creator; she tells jokes and goes out of her way to make people laugh, and the last thing you expect is for her to kill others. Pinkie being a serial killer is a complete contradiction to her characterization, which adds depth. It fascinates people, which, of course, adds a massive creepiness factor to it. So why doesn't this work for Rainbow Dash?
Rainbow's dash characterization is a powerful egoist. Yes, she can be humble at times, but one of her notable traits is that she's one of the fastest ponies able to create a sonic rainboom and generally views herself a little higher than most view themselves. To add depth? The MLP writers ensured that at the end of the day, she'll humble herself or truly care about her friends despite her ego. Now, making Rainbow Dash a leading figure in a criminal organization that murders ponys to make rainbows for pony vile is not entirely a contradiction with her characterization; you may not expect her to be something so vile, but it's not something fully unexpected as her characterization could add "hints" to her true character, such as her egoism. Thus making it less creepy than Pinkie.
Why do people find it "hot" when Rainbow Dash is like this? It is a guess as good as mine.
I'd definitely check out "The Friendship Test" since its basically Twilights Experiments done really well. (With Starlight being the villain instead of Twi)
I listened to someone read that and it really reminded me of the movie "Would You Rather" mixed with "Circle". Its well written but I think the writer got their test ideas from both movies.

One of the most memorable for me was "Cheerilee's Garden", basically another tourture porn but with Cheerilee's messed up philosophy of "killing all the weeds in her beatiful garden" a.k.a. "kill all the naughty students in the most saw-like ways possible".

Cheerilee's Garden is one I've been meaning to read for a while, so I'll probably feature it if I ever make a part 2 lol.

Other creepypasta (or grimdark fics as they're called nowadays) I think are good:
For Pinkie Pie - Truth Be Told. It technically focuses on everyone but the main character is Pinkie as she suffers more drastic effects of the things going on due to her breaking the 4th wall tendencies
For Fluttershy - Angel of Mercy. A very in-character take on "mane six member becomes murderous" as it deals with the whole concept of mercy killing
For Twilight - Forever Faithful. What if death wasn't the end,what if someone found a way to connect back to our side,what if that someone was Celestia's most faithful student who misses her friends and is curious of how much she can do in her situation
For Applejack - Let Me Tell You About the Hole in My Face. This one is hard to describe,but it is quite unsettling in my opinion
For Rarity - The Double. She gets the short end of the stick very often but this one is quite good I believe
For Rainbow Dash - Quod Timeo. I just wanted to recommend one I barely see mentioned
Other fics that don't focus on the mane six but are good could be Puppet To Her Fame,Act of Will,The Trees are Screaming and Blueblood's Pets
theres a really obscure story that i vaguely remember that was starlight/twilight centric, i think it takes place post twilight castle cuz i remember there being a scene with the castle mentioned, and reformed starlight. the whole story was just starlight tormenting twilight and we find out that starlight had like secret pocket dimensions full of blood and viscera, i've been looking for it for a while

I read the fic. as to be expected, it's hot garbage, exclusively written around the idea of "evil psycho killer rainbow dash bc that would be shocking!!" and the whole thing gets increasingly embarrassing as you read. I can barely make it through the song as is honestly

@CageBlack1443 the song lives rent free inside of my head. Read it shortly after hearing the song. After cupcakes and rainbow factory I was only lead to darker and more fucked up fanfics.....I learned what futa was that year......😢 thankfully I was grown and about 22 at the time....but still.... there was some messed up content out there. Anyone remember the disastrous stage play with scootaloo? That's about all I remember outside of the gore and anatomically incorrect SA that happens in it. Bronies, man.......admittedly.....I read "chomping at the bit" 😢 a twightlight X spike fic..... I miss watching the show untainted with the minds of others.
The fics are surprisingly good IMO, much more character- and worldbuilding-focused than others which I really dig. Half of the conflict is the emotional betrayal of Scootaloo's surrogate sisterhood, and the way Rainbow's justified it all to herself, not just "ooh scary evil factory".
Ironically the original is probably the weakest, what with it being over ten years old now and exclusively from the POV of a scared foal who is only going to see it as "ooh scary evil factory" (makes total narrative sense, just that there's more to the world than that). In its sequels and spinoffs we get the exploration of a weirdly realistic corrupt corporation, and the twisted morality spun by those trying to justify it and the dystopian society of Cloudsdale.
It's 'cringe', yeah -- it's an MLP grimdark fanfiction, no duh. But it's got some legitimate merit. If you like that kind of fic I recommend it.

It could have been like Princess Celestia or any other important character that has a big role in Equestria.
Tbh an apple sleep experiment was my most recently heard grimdark fanfic and also might be my favourite
Im not really in the mood for typing a paragraph but eh well, my main reasons for actually liking it is because it can actually be 100% canon, unlike other mlp grimdark fanfics, aj had a motive for her actions and was 90% unconscious while committing them. Aj had three stages, her conscious stage, before she drank the potion, pretty self explanatory and obvious, her sub-conscious stage which is after she drank the potion and threw up till she lost her hind hoof, and her 90% unconscious stage, from the part where she heard ringing and felt a tingling in her hoof till ofc the part where AB sacrificed herself to inject the antidote. She also had a brief sub-conscious moment in the hospital when she (thought she) realised she had killed her brother. Conscious Aj woke up in jail and didnt remember anything from before drinking the potion, thus proving my point which is Aj was innocent since it was her unconscious self who committed her crimes. Aside from some important characters death and Starlight replacing aj as the element of honesty, this fanfic could very well happen within the show's universe in the timeline of season 7. Its fun to analyse about and is very well written with a lot of background details making it possible to theorize upon each pony's povs. For example, Twilight knew of the potion she gave aj, but she denied it and gaslighted aj when she brought it up in jail, who else knew of it? When did Twi realise she had to keep it as a secret? Etc. The fanfic has some form of closure to the story and is overall very well written
Also sidenote: what I said about its possibility of being canon, it actually has a similarity and I could guess it was based on, 'Applebuck season' from the actual show. Aj has a big responsibility related to her farm, big mac is kicked out of the picture by being hospitalised and aj doesnt rest because of her stubborness not to ask for help (in the episode it was help in the farm, but in the fanfic help would apply to aj borrowing money to repay filthy rich)
It’s not about being too young it’s about how easily scared you are. I watched these creepy pastas when I was very young and I loved them but a lot of people were traumatized by them. It depends on the person. Kids can watch scary stuff as long as they’re the type of kid that can take it, like I was.
They scared me but at the same time hardened me. Visual factors of horror no longer scare me.

Honestly I don’t think it’s really about trauma? Like as a kid I was obsessed with this stuff. They didn’t scare me, they made me happy even or maybe excited and when I say they ruined me, what I mean is that I think they led me to seek out actual gore pornography and you have to keep this little obsession a secret cuz otherwise everyone will think you’re sick. It doesn’t bother me that much nowadays cuz I know I’m not the type to wish to inflict that stuff on anyone but I think if I hadn’t seen these mlp stuff when I was little I wouldn’t have fallen into this rabbit hole.

Another good Fluttershy creepypasta is Butterflies. I personally can't fully stomach it but if you can handle stuff that leans on body horror type of shit then you're good to go. Fluttershy is,in my opinion,surprisingly in character too
For Applejack there isn't much which is why An Apple Sleep Experiment took over so easily,apparently there's this other creepypasta called Apple Eyes but I've personally never found it
And for a good Rainbow Dash creepypasta there's also Rocket To Insanity which is basically what if Cupcakes was all a dream that made Dash grow paranoid. Oh and for Twilight you could check out Diary Of A Time-Looper
Last but not least Rarity seemingly does get the short end of the stick. There's Lil' Miss Rarity and that video Rarity's New Patterns but not much else,once upon a time I believe there was once called Rarity's Generous Gift but that one is uh.... *It's not very good* (to give you an idea for whatever reason Rarity keeps getting borderline p*rn stories for no reason)

I like that idea that the Pegasus device remains this unspecified concept that extracts the color from ponies somehow. Some of the greatest monsters in horror stories are the ones you never see. How big is this machine? What does it look like? What are its origins?
I usually don't have the patience to read fanfics, but a mlp creepypasta named 'The Friendship Test' did have me read the whole thing. Also the comic strip kinda thingy that was made for Rocket to Insanity traumatized by younger self slightly because of smth that happens pretty early on
And the Friendship Test is exactly what's being described at 39:40, testing all 6 mane mares in their particular talent to the breaking point using SCIENCE!

It was about Starlight capturing the Main 6 and making them go through experiments “based”’ on the Elements of Harmony that are deadly if they fail or the Main 6 end up killing each other through bad decisions.
@@lorimartin6819 Yes! The Friendship Test is a fantastic fanfiction written by MagPiePony that features Starlight Glimmer as the main villain. The parallel being drawn here is that the experiment being proposed in this video from 39:37 to 39:47 is instantiated in The Friendship Test. If you watch TheLostNarrator's upload from 22:20 to 22:32 it can be heard that Starlight Glimmer is testing the Loyalty of Rainbow Dash by challenging her to choose between another and herself in a negative outcome.

As someone who... Is... a fan of Lil Miss Rarity, I absolutely agree that it's a fucking weird ass thing that is quite confusing and often ridiculous. However the "first ending" thing before the artstyle was changed was... actually kinda sad... like yeah the premise as a whole is blood-porn, which then sprung into a story about dumb idiot gods, but somehow the ending was quite touching. what I will say though is that the gods suddenly appearing is kiiiiiinda realistic-ish. like, if us real people were in a scenario where we were dealing with gods, chances are we wouldn't know gods were involved at the start either.
also as a trans girl myself, I have to say that it's genuinely horrible that another trans girl tried to force someone to be trans. like why the actual fuck would she do that to him. AND she was already married??? what's wrong with her.

i will never forget the fact that i found mlp creepypastas in early middle school (my middle school was 4th-7th grade so technically elementary) and becoming so obsessed with it that i was drawing this stuff at school where one teacher saw me drawing rainbow factory and probably (hopefully) didnt realize what i was actually drawing. safe to say that my obsession with horror stems from mlp creepypastas lol

I used to have a Rainbow Factory inspired song on my playlist. If I recall correctly, it was called the Pegasus Device or something like that. You could tell that it was based off of the story because it referenced both Rainbow Dash and Scootaloo.

its a story told through a game format (at least from how i was introduced to it) but something i'd like to see you cover is "Silly Filly Adventure", specifically the Blank Flank ending (im not sure if there's other endings, but that's the one i know). it is very "generic creepypasta" in it's vibes, and the jumpscare at the end is very shock factor but as a child, it shook me to my core. i'd love to see you cover it at some point! ^-^

In my opinion, MLP Creepypastas have two problems. One, they're usually gorefests with no substance to speak of (Rainbow Factory, Cupcakes). Two, they're good, but wouldn't be any different if ponies weren't involved (The Cough, Something Sweet to Bite). There are exceptions to this, though. Like, SIX Walk IN and Story of the Blanks. Those ones are really good.

I was a child when I was in the fandom and I consumed any and all creepy pastas relating to it, I LOVED them. I’m not sure why, because now I don’t particularly care for gore.

Easily the most horrifying and unnerving story this community has ever produced. And what's worse given the monsters and demons that exist in the MLP world this creepypasta is the most likely thing to have happened in the series outside of an episode. Makes you really stop and think just how "safe" is this world really?
Wow, I can't believe that you went through the whole Cupcakes section without mentioning Muffins! Muffins was a canon event I think for all the weird edgy little kids like me who thought gore fics were the pinnacle of fiction.
It's a fic that expands on the cupcakes universe, adding Derpy to pinkie and applebloom's plan, expanding on the number system, including pinkie's sisters and an extra OC sister named Obsidian to the group, the backstory that pinkie and her sisters have been killing ponies since they were fillies. It extends to a saw like episode of the bakers killing sweetie belle and scootaloo, or more accurately making them kill each other under the pretense of escape, and then this escalated into an acid attack and bombing where the bakers take out the equestrian military.
Only after they get arrested, stand trial, get sent to prison, then get broken out, though. It was absolutely fucking insane and I lived for it

Maybe they're extremely similar but many years ago I read a fanfiction called The Pages of Harmony. I feel like it's a lot like The Experiments of Twilight Sparkle but they at least got the story down for...the most part and they spelled most of it correctly lol.

I really enjoyed this video, I think it was very straight-foreword which I appreciate a lot! There's not too much fluff or anything which I think a lot of these kinds of videos tend to fall prey to.
I do want to say though, I feel like picking on Aurora's self insert is a bit like low hanging fruit. But I've also spent awhile in a writer's Discord with Aurora Dawn himself and I know for a fact he isn't egocentric at all. He's also really grown into a great writer and I have a lot of respect for him. Also I'm pretty sure the story did mention that Aurora Dawn had recently had the feather flu, which could explain why her wing joints were weakened but I'm not a hundred percent sure I'm remembering right.
Rainbow Factory is obviously a pretty early work of his and not a great reflection of him as a writer. I saw someone else mention the official sequel, Pegasus Device (which, funnily enough, did inspire it's own song which was done by Slyphstorm) is a much, much better read.
Its funny you mention the Experiments of Twilight Sparkle, as I thought the Twilight fiction everyone talked about was Pages of Harmony. Having a similar concept but written far more competently

For other characters its easy but for fluttershy I feel there's too many to pick one so people fight over which one is the story to pick

I'm actually surprised that the Fluttershy story you discussed was Flutterschmooze, when the thumbnail depicts Fluttershy's Lullaby. You made a good choice talking about Flutterschmooze, though, because Fluttershy's Lullaby isn't a good story.
For some reason, it's rather popular in the rap battle community. Ever since Sweet Apple Massacre vs Trixie's Funhouse, back in 2014, Fluttershy's Lullaby just kept being used in other battles, most notably in Squidward's Suicide vs Dead Bart 2, and three different versions of Hypno's Lullaby vs Fluttershy's Lullaby (one unreleased for Epic Rap Battles: Ponies vs Anything, one archived from Evil Rap Battles of Horror, and one publicly available for Sinister Rap Battles). Like, the first two are fitting, being an MLP Creepypasta royale and a lost episode Creepypasta royale respectively, but three versions of the same battle for a Pasta that everyone agrees is dogshit? Why?

Well made video. I honestly could understand a lot of the criticism you had for these stories. Even with Rainbow Factory, which is one I quite enjoy. Now really thinking about it, yeah, Aurora is kinda written in a way that was not that great. From what I've heard though, the series does get better. And Apple Sleep Experiment, I actually still need to look into that. I'm honestly not shocked though that it was as well written as it was as Magpie Pony is a skilled writer and I'm kinda familiar with her writing work already with things like Princess Trixie Sparkle. But yeah, this was a great video overall!!!

Love this! I'm really happy that the brony community is still around and kicking after all this time (albeit it isn't anywhere near its peak back in 2015). I honestly sort of agree with the criticisms you had with a lot of these - especially Rainbow Factory. I've never really been able to get into that story, because I've never really found it that disturbing or scary (the sequel "Debt to Society" is very well written though). To this day, I have never touched Little Miss Rarity for obvious reasons, and I was never able to find all of the parts of The Experiments of Twilight Sparkle to read the whole thing. I think that when it comes to Apple Sweet Experiment, I am really glad that Applejack finally got a story focusing on her specifically, and it's very well written.
There's a couple of My Little Pony creepypastas that I've always found to be really underrated, those being: "Something Sweet to Bite" (definitely not one for the faint of heart, honestly, really gory), and "Haunting Nightmare". I feel like the reason those stories stick out to me is that the characters don't really break character from how they're perceived in the show - which is one of my biggest pet peeves with pony creepypastas.
Something Sweet to Bite has an amazing narration for it done by Emogak (who I'm not entirely sure is still active - but they do have an amazing Twilight voice!). I'm always fascinated by how authors base their stories off of Equestrian folklore or try to recontexualize things that happened in the canon - which in the case of Something Sweet to Bite, the reason Equestria celebrates Nightmare Night is because of the existence of The Candy Mare (who is a character I can't do justice by just explaining). I'd recommend the story for sure, if you ever did another video on this topic.
Haunting Nightmare is basically just the story of how the "nightmare" that transformed Princess Luna into Nightmare Moon comes after Twilight after an accident at a party. However, this is a story that never had a proper audio narration made for it (which to be honest, I attempted to try and do that myself a couple years back, but I could never find the time, and being like 17 at the time, I had no clue how to run a project like that). It is really unfortunate that the story never received much attention in the fandom, because I think it has a lot of genuinely intense scenes.

I remember being 10 years old and I saw the applejack one and I got so scared I didn't sleep the entire night because every sound I thought was her breaking into my house, it was bad...I ended up finishing the video about two years later when I felt braver and it was a pretty decent story. I also watched Rainbow Factory, and honestly it didn't really scare me AS much, but I did get the song stuck in my head really badly. It actually inspired me to attempt making my own version with my MLP toys, but I didn't get far with it. Cupcakes never scared me much because it was...bad.
‘jumping to their feet’ is actually really commonly used in books with animals as the main characters. Evan Peters does this a lot in the Warriors series. it means hopping up from their sitting position
