Looks fantastic as always Dave. It still amazes me just how simple the construction of some of these old toys are. Absolutely no reason for something like this to not be restored. As always thanks again for what you do. They are always enjoyable.
Where I live( NW England) there used to be a toy shop chain called zodiac, and I’m almost certain I had this figure as an enemy to action man. Just a side note ,have worked with plastic in the past, if you are worried it may split, then put un warm water to soften it with constant checking to see how soft you require.
Really interesting, I've never seen one of these before. No matter what you are restoring, something about your videos is so relaxing. Great work as always 💪
I used to have a Pedigree Tommy Gunn in the Grenadier Guards uniform that I found at a doll show. He was only missing his bearskin hat but did have the original dog tag and those boots with the laces. I was quite fond of him and I'm very sad I don't have him anymore. thanks for sharing this video
Hey Dave I had never seen one of these figures before. He sure looks great and all of your custom work matches his look. Thank you for sharing and take care.
Hmmm, I've got a sneaking suspicion that the "Action Man" my parents gave me as a toddler was a "Tommy Gunn"! I did wonder! I'll have to double-check, but i think that's Mystery Solved! Thanks, Dave! 👍
That looks incredible! The dog tag and the banana magazine are fantastic!! It's really amazing what a difference washing and ironing made on the uniform. GREAT JOB!
I had a Pedigree Tommy Gunn before I had an Action Man. I had one with a Karl Gustav rocket launcher, and I also had a set that contained landmines. Good to see this bloke again - although I don't remember mine having Action Man hands. Great video, Dave. Thank you. 👍👍👍 The bits above the boots are 'Gaiters'. 'Puttees', which were used in the first world war, are long strips of fabric that are wound round the lower leg, and tied in place - a precursor to Gaiters, which were fixed in place with buckles. The figure's helmet looks like the new type used by British forces post-war, and through most of the cold war. A sleeker shape than the old WW2 'Battle Bowler'.
Great vid again, restored a zodiac t gun a few weeks ago and fixed up the 58 webbing from my original tommy who was sadly lost in a skydive accident in the mid 70s who remains in bits in a box, always thought the original tommy uniforms were far better made than action man, still have most of the guards uniform, the paratrooper uniform on my other zodiac doll and the mine detector bits and the Carl gustave which sadly no longer fires, made up the webbing from 3 broken sets I'd got over the years, wish I had superglue in the 60s to 70s.
I had no idea this even existed. It’s a really cool figure and I agree that he will look really great amongst your Action Man collection. It’s a good quality looking toy and has its own unique charm. More excellent work on the repairs as always, Dave!👏👏👏
did you really get kicked out of forums for wanting to repair vintage figures? these are the reasons i stopped going to forums 5 or 6 years ago. a lot of other toy collectors are frankly Dbags.
Mr T Gunn is looking great . You have given him a new lease on life
Fantastic result! Using a hair dryer on the shoes would soften the plastic and make it easier to put on the feet.
Great restoration and this Tommy Gunn does look amazing, but I think I still prefer Action Man! :)

I like the head sculpt on these figures better than the original G.I. Joe sculpt.
That is absolutely fantastic. You’ve got to be very patient. The figure looks brilliant.
Thank you ☺️

Where I live in Essex there used to be a Zodiac toy shop, it is where as a kid I got most of my He-Man and the Masters of the Universe figures from.
used to love shopping @ zodiac in burton on trent, in early to mid 70's.
I've mentioned it before but I really like how expressive your hands are.
Thanks 🖖👍

Looks very very good love the uniform!!!
Great Job, turned out nicely.
Hey dude!
Absolutely fascinating. I've nit seen this figure before. Very different and interesting. Thank you
My pleasure
Awesome job! He looks great!

Don't forget to take a match or lighter to melt the ends of your elastic so they don't fray!
Never saw this figure line. Nice restoration, he looks great 👍
Thanks
Outstanding job as usual!
Thanks Dave, might try that hair restoration technique on the back of my head. 🙂
I need it on mine as well!
Very nice job. The result is amazing. Thanks Dave.
I remember everytime you took his boots off his feet came off with it :)
That happens with Action Man as well.

The quality is not quite as good as Action Man. But I love the look of him.
@@toypolloi Right?! He just kinda looks like he has a personality🤷♂️
Excellent information Dave , love this👍
That man there! This Squaddie's boots are not ladder-laced! Just joking, Dave. I had no idea Tommy Gunn had laced boots. Great video as always.
Looks great Dave! I enjoy seeing your videos. Thanks
I remember seeing Tommy Gunn in a toy shop in 1968 but I was into Britains and Timpo swoppets at the time.
Nice job on the restore ✌️
Looks good. Would love to see a first gen pedigree tommy gunn restoration
I would like one as well. But currently out of my budget. This one was expensive enough 😬
Awesome work mate
Realistically, I'm likely never going to see one of these, but it's nice seeing something a bit different.
They are pretty uncommon. I try to show a wide range of toys if I can as I know someone will find this useful.
Do you know the Spanish toy brand Madelman? It's similar to action man. Greetings from Argentina!
madelman is little big man isnt it ?
If you want to go one step more on the Sterling submachine gun, drill out the tip of the barrel. That really makes them pop
I had Tommy Gun way back in 1968. In many ways it was better than Action Man. The kit was excellent. I still have the M1 Garand, sadly not much else.
The helmet looks very much like the British 1950s to 1980s steel helmet.
hahha love the opining thank you for your videos
I love the intro! Did you really get shamed in forums for advocating repairing toys?
Yes I did
Is that a Magic Eraser Sponge
Your Using????
Yes.
👍🏼short boots and puttees and a banana clip😂
Ace vid
May I post your videos on my Pinterest board?😊
I'm happy for you to post links to the videos here on UA-cam.
which paints do you recommend for use?
The ones I show in the video work well. Cheers

Yes. But only Star Wars ones. Everyone else seems to enjoy what I do.
Very good restoration as always. Not sure about that helmet. Looks more Japanese or North Vietnamese army than British commonwealth tin helmet.
It's based on the turtle helmet that entered service in 1944 and remained in service well into the 1980s.
Wasn’t tommy Gunn in Rocky 5?
Where is the Captian Action restoration?
I am still searching for parts for him. He is not common in the UK so it will take time. Cheers
Tommy needs socks.
Did Tommy Gunn fall apart because he had no uniform??? That's. very bad joke. Reminds me a little of a Captain Action body.
