- Here we go! The first of many videos with from our trip to New England and the Northeast U.S. In the first video Brook and I visit an Oyster farm in Mattapoisett, Massachusetts. Bob the owner gave us a tour of the Oyster Grant which is located on a saltwater marsh and shows us how to catch and shuck oysters as well. Bob grows the oysters from inception to a mature market age which takes around 16 months! Brooks version of the video is centered more around the Quahog Clams. This is the first of many catch clean cook videos, hope you guys enjoy!

I love oysters! So doggone fresh, The best of the best. Thank you for sharing. Brook does not know what she is missing....LOL. Fantastic video post.
Maybe one day ill convince her haha
Make that great lady an oyster stew. I'm sure she would have a change of heart! LOL Have bro@@LandsharkOutdoors
That's awesome that he would take the time to spend with you and show you all of that! What a cool guy! Thanks for sharing!!!!
I have been living in this area for 30 plus year, and am proud to say I live this life hunting, fishing, and foraging for clam, and oysters. I have been wanting to showcase this for a long time by way of UA-cam but don’t have the know how and equipment to do so but I’m glad to see someone having an interest for our way of life because it’s so different.
Excellent episode, love this format where you two are traveling to new places, trying, learning, and sharing different things with us. Huge fan! Keep em coming!
Thank you fellas, Brook, and specially Bob! Oysters imo are definitely an acquired taste, I've been eating them for years now. Thank you for all of this information!!
Moved back to my native Mass from Daytona Beach this summer. Cold water oysters are da bomb.
Oyster farms are all the rage in salt ponds all over Mass., R.I., and Ct. Glad you made it up to our neck of the woods. It looks like you had a snotty day fishing for BFT, I hope you did well. Tog opens up this week, hope you get a shot at that fishery too. Have fun.
You all spent the day gathering and eating 2 of my absolute favorites. I will drive hours for great oysters. While i really like both raw, I love whole fried clams and oysters grilled Gulf Coast style. They are a lot like the oysters Brook made, but use better instead of olive oil and are grilled over a wood flame instead of oven baked. Love your guys' videos and you two are inspiring to get out there and do new things.
Are you guys still in mass? My wife, 18month old son and myself watch everything you and brooke post, ALWAYS EXCELLENT! We live down in eastham, have 2 boats, 23ft lobster boat, and a 38ft dragger, we drag scallops quahog, cape cod has unbelievable opportunities for fresh and saltwater fishing. We would love to show you guys what cape has to offer. Thanks for the fire vids!
fyi oysterfest in wellfleet is soon absolute awesome time
If you guys are interested this is my wife's Instagram, Livtheharvester
I don't have email, Instagram or Facebook, LOL
Oysters are my favorite. I can eat them all the time. They are great on the half shell and awesome fried. I like to try them any way I can get them. Great video.
Raw is best!
@@LandsharkOutdoors I was about 8 when I ate my first raw one. I learned fast not to keep chewing it to bite a few time and down the hatch lol. I like them smoked as well with some stuff on them. Louisiana can make some good ones that's for sure. When yall go you have to try some of theirs for sure.
I like them pretty much anyway they come. One favorite is oyster stew - they're cooked in milk, with butter, salt, & pepper. A couple of shakes of Tabasco is good, too if your tastes run that way.
I LOVE ROASTED OYSTERS WITH BBQ
Cool video, can't wait to see Charlotte's!!!🐚
lol Charlottes is up check it out!
Awesome video!!! I grew up on Long Island sound. This video reminds me of home.
Your home waters are beautiful!
I don’t need to see all of this because I experience it every day, absolutely beautiful part of land we live on
YOU HARVEST OYSTERS?
So good with parmesan cheese! Again love you both to pieces!!
PARM AND BUTTERRRRR LOL
That was a great video, keep them coming. It's not every day that you get some one living out there dreams. Don't stop keep them coming we like them all no matter what the subject is. It' looks like that you are having a lot of fun doing these video's. I am learning a lot just watching you do something that I may never get to do. Keep them coming.
I grew up on the cape and miss this kind of life style now I live in MURRELLS inlet South Carolina on the mud flats, thank you for the trip down memory lane.
should've went to duxbury, mass
Oh man those duxburys are the best south of the canadian border.
I fish on cape cod. Shell fishing is cool but yellowfin and blue marlin at the canyons is more fun!
Raw clams, Raw oysters for sure.
Being Italian and from Boston originally, I love a Quahog stuffed in chowder raw with a little lemon you name it I like them an oyster on the other hand we never really ate that much until I move to California the Cesspool state now I'm quite fond of oysters love your Channel and Brooks.
😂😂 Brook is such a good sport
Too cold for me up there, but I think the cold makes oysters, and a lot of species of crustaceans, sweeter in flavor.
Really cool video, I love oysters and I enjoyed seeing the process for growing oysters and all of the information about them
Try the oysters on the grill with butter garlic and a slosh of Tabasco sauce keep the lemon also, very yummy.
Great to see your You-Tube channel reaching out & travelling like this. BOL...
I’m with you, Brooke. I don’t do raw Oysters. I love shellfish ceviche, but without Oysters. I like fried Oysters.
Hands down dexter-russell makes the best oyster knife out there
DEXTER RUSSEL IS A VERY GOOD KNIFE BUT I ALSO LIKE THE CHESAPEAKE STABBER LOCALLY MADE IN BMORE
You should try come Hawaii someday. There are plenty fish u can try Catch and Cook
It would be a dream!
My father worked salads and seafood in fancy and top restaurants for 20 years and I have his knife that he used for shelling clams and oysters. Looks just like dexters. With wood handle. You tell about Brook but she never mentioned your channel only that you were behind the camera.
Really great guys !!! Way to go ! Fun video
Like what I had stated in brooke video while watching both your videos I can just feel my gout acting up lol another awesome video as always aloha and mahalo from Hawaii
GREAT VIDEO!!!!!!.so well done....so informative....really entertaining vid my friend
Awesome job yall truly entertaining 👏
GREAT VIDEO GUYS
I love fresh raw and coked oysters. Cold water oysters are my favorite. Victor and Brooke, many thanks for posting.
Did not know they had a oyster farm. I used to live in the south and we used to buy them in the big bags and clean them and bake them in the oven.
Smoked Oyster video guys just an idea love Oysters myself you sould do an Osyter kilpatrick recipe.
Welcome to New England ! Come visit my state , good old Rhode Island!
I want to go get some oysters too, it looks like so much fun.

New sub I've been watching your videos for a few months now great channel
Charlotte lol That was cute. Vik, you should come back up to the NE during Christmas - maybe you'll be lucky enough to find some snow. Brrrrrr
Love me Oysters!!!
Lmao freezing cold ... I reacted the same way the New England guys did ! Lol get ready my friend !
You make me want to buy dexter tools just because
Nice to see you guys in New England.
I’m a New Englander (Connecticut) and will be spearfishing Black fish tomorrow 10/15. Tight lines 👍🏼
Good luck amigo!
love your stuff very informative
I hope Carl took you on a tour of the Dexter plant. I would love to see that video.
Not this trip, but i'm sure we will in the future!
Oh you might try looking at the oyster farms in Washington and Oregon. They do it differently than new England. . California doesn't have a wild oyster population so they import from other places and raise theirs in the bay..
excited to see the bluefin video
Hey Brooke. I'm born in New England, still live in New England and I won't do it. Nice road trip!
Quahog... That's the Family Guy town, isn't it? I've been saying "quay-hog" so I learned something new...
Welcome to the south shore Victor. Now that you are here you have to go striper fishing and lobster fishing.
Eating raw clams /oysters for southern warm waters is a crap shoot..
the cape cod oysters are the best.. then again i live on the cape
What an amazing experience! 😍😍😍💖💗💚💜💜💙💛👍😎
Awesome video and awesome oyster farm these guys are awesome I’ve learned a lot from this video and native New Englander never have claimed or oystererd want to try!
That’s what it’s all about thanks for watching!
I know this is from two years ago but I am just seeing this now. I’m from mattapoisett and I didn’t even know this was here in town.
It's that a pearl farm !
Used a Dexter 9" everyday for 20 years of charter fishing the Keys. I wish i knew how many fish i have cut with a Dexter 😂
A good oyster has a good salt content. I live in nc it normally is $60-75 a bushell but worth it when you know where your local oysters come from
And Florida the oysters are really cheap now come down for a trip
Should try ice fishing up north it's a blast
Great place to visit, we spend our summers there with family at our summer house. Why did you go when it got cold? Blue fin fishing? Don't forget about the maine lobsters!! 3.99 lb at the docks!
Eazy to get wild ones all you need is a boat and a post hole digger. We go all the time
WHAT AREA ARE YOU?
@@OysterNinjaPc newhamshire Hampton area
I'd love to work there for the summer.
I would def break the "No eating on the job rule"
Could you please do a video on urchins
Muito bom !!! Aqui comemos muito chamamos de ostra 😋😁🇧🇷
PESCA SEM ESTRESSE fala
Have you done a video on the northwest ,like Washington to California . If not you should .
I enjoy this dudes content and I don't mind trying out some recipes from him. Only if had the same kine fish XD
Oyster are good but did you taste the lobster specialy the giant claw different from the florida lobster Viktor ! keep up the good work!
Oh yeah I’m sorry to my native Floridians but Maine lobstaaa is so so so much better
😂 my mouth’s 💦 watching you eat
Charlotte Crist Outdoors, new channel coming soon!!!
That's how they ruined the Indian River in Florida. They let the clamers come in and wipe out most of the clams.
OVER HARVESTING ANYWHERE IS A HUGE ISSUE
Does anybody have any opinions on these dexter knives? I bought one and it arrived dull and I have had a hard time putting an decent edge on it. I was a butcher for 5 years too.
Do they have shrimp up there
Not supposed to chew.quahogs are for chowder, Not to eat raw. Eat the tiny little necks , and cherrystones. No wonder you’re not enjoying those giant clams raw. Gross!! Try the NE lobster, chowder, and bisque . I’ve been living in CT my whole life and fishing since 5 with my grandpa. We do have great seafood and the Italian food in New Haven CT not too far from Mass. Wooster street pizza. Look it up. Be safe guys. We use mackerel as a bait fish for blues and stripers. Enjoy your trip . It’s freezing up here. Stay warm. PS So many types of whales. Also read the article from 7-22 about how a commercial fisherman who dove down for some beautiful big NE lobsters and wound up in a humpback s mouth. Thankfully the creature spat him out .
I love oysters from Apalachicola Florida or east point Florida fat and salty
Is it by chance you and DMFD are both up north fishing for same stuff?
Those are clams in the pic , brah !
Where can we meet you folks at?? As close as you’ll ever be to New Hampshire ❤️❤️❤️
Where is the fresh horseradish?
Are u guys still down in NE I’m from RI and I’m a huge fan would love to meet u in person if possible. If not hope u enjoyed your time down on the east coast and maybe next time I’ll be lucky enough to bump into u 💯 🎣
They are in New England Wear coast oysters aren't to bad
new england is the best
do you ship to Canada
Omg I live in mattapoisett massachusetts
Fishing video plzzzz
Get some 1 inchers! They the best and not so tuff!
First
Those snails at the 2:50 mark are Periwinkles... I suppose you could call them mud snails, but the common name is Periwinkle.
We used to grab those periwinkles, crack them up, and use them for aquarium food.
They also have the ability to cause swimmer's itch.
I’m with brooks I could never eat one of those and I live in mass
Try them lightly steamed with cocktail / horseradish mix, AND ice cold beer, you will be surprised.
Virtol be careful oysters like Viagra sorry brosk sorry I love you guys this is the old man 64 year old man God bless you and your family a very happy trip
Oyster raw clams cooked all the way .
Brooke why you scared to eat a raw oyster they are good
The picture isnt of oysters
Just saying in warmer rivers and creeks don’t eat raw oysters, even in colder waters it’s always best to boil oysters. Not cause of the taste but they can carry the bacteria Vibrio vulnificus that can make you really sick. But as far as clams go in the US don’t try it either
Fyi you don't have to waste the rest of the scallop. The entire thing is edible.
Really? Didn't know that
@@onedeep160 yep. The mantle and roe are excellent. Used frequently in Asian cuisines.
@@GemsByJen learned something new next time I look for scallops I try the whole scallop thanks for the info
You're welcome. :)
I eat the whole scallop
