Yoko ono is not a musician and Has absolutely no musical talent.
Screeching Bansheeism, is not art, music, or a statement. Only a hell dweller, would revel in that cacaphony.
Nope! I second that.
Legendary bassist Carol Kaye snuffed from this list played on ten score big hits......She's 89.
It not sad that’s their old. It’s happy.
🧓 yes exactly. The rest of us mere mortals should be so lucky !....
Aye matey. "We'll meet AGAIN. Dunno where. Dunno when."
Yeah, I'm happy they won't be around much longer!
~ They're. *
At least they made it
Musicians never die, they just decompose.
Along with their fandom.

As someone who just turned 74, I can honestly say that we age. I just retired this year; I kept working to not be bored and because I loved my job. Nothing changed for me except now I only have to do things when I want.
Are you not understanding the fact that for most entertainers, there's no such thing as a pension? For many, there's barely any such thing as retirement, at least not the kind that someone like you is enjoying.

Living to be old is a gift. Just keep your friendships alive.
And keep the greedy evil 😈 Tax-man waiting a little longer !...
So what?
That’s the problem with getting older, you’re friends are all dead.
@@missesmew 🤔 What do you mean all of your friends are dead ?. Maybe if you live to be over 100 , yes then all of your friends might be dead !.
@@alancrisp1582 well I’m a little over half way to a hundred and lots of my old friends are no more. Every year it gets worse, it’s just life. Not a Disney movie
All these people are very blessed and there's nothing sad about living a long eventfull live☺️.
Calling Yoko Ono a musician is a bit of a stretch
Its a heresy.
Legendary bassist Carol Kaye snuffed from this list played on more than ten score big hits......She's 89.
Ten minutes into this video and not one person 90 years old, what the hell. Interesting, but maybe you should have called the video musicians in their 80's.
Legendary bassist Carol Kaye snuffed from this list played on ten score big hits......She's 89.
83 is a far cry from 90!
Picky picky. You must be a liberal

6:16 You neglected to say that Grace Slick's nickname was 'Acid Queen.' She was known more for her LSD than for her cocaine use, claiming thousands of hits in her lifetime. But she once said something that made me laugh; "All rock and rollers over the age of 50 look stupid and should retire."
Legendary bassist Carol Kaye snuffed from this list played on ten score big hits......She's 89.
Many of our legends do not have a partner at home to help them, welcome to humanity! Why should having a particular talent protect you from life? We all get sick, age, deal with loneliness and death of loved ones and then our own. These people are not any more special than doctors, firemen, policemen, mothers, fathers, etc. We all struggle through life from childhood to adulthood. Most of them had it better because they had money, fame and adulation where the rest of humanity struggles in obscurity. Gimme a break here.

Julie Andrews if you're a kid who was born in the 60s my mother took us to see The sound of music every year at the drive-in America was very beautiful then
It is amazing that these artists continue into their seniority with such aplomb. I saw Kris about 10 yrs ago when he was only 77, and his one man show was a special gift of wonderful songs chronicling our lives. Did I miss seeing Mick Jagger and the Rolling Stones in this video?
They are singling Bill Wyman out because he was noticeably older than all the rest. Mick and Keith have just barely turned 80
It isnt sad, its the NATURAL progression of life. Even at 90, life is choices

Ringo Starr is a great drummer!
One of many actually. There have been other musicians even better than him !..
John Lennon was once asked if Ringo Starr was the greatest drummer in the world, he replied that he was not even the best drummer in the Beatles . 15:38
@gogoyubari366 - How do you tell, he didn't actually have to do very much in the Beatles but sit at the back and look gormless. For all I can tell he could be brilliant or totally useless.
@@nickgov66 A joke...
@@nickgov66 ~ Myth, and it was debunked.
What do you mean "How they live is sad"!?!
Johnny Mathis was a champion athlete. He almost represented USA at the Olympic Games.
Johnny Mathis is also Gay. No doubt this contributed to loneliness and his alcohol intake. But he is still an icon, and gives a fabulous performance at his advanced age.
What about Pat Boone, he is 89.
Not a musician.
I think you have a point. He has not known for playing an instrument but many on this list are not either.
And he's sharp as a tack.
I saw Tom Jones last year, 2023, he sounded great! When he comes back I will be there.
I saw Van Morrison about 5 years ago and Tom Jones made a surprise visit. Van was finishing a song when someone told him. He invited TJ out for an impromptu set. Totally in rehearsed and fun.
Bassey is most noted for the movie Goldfinger title song.
It's astonishing that the writers of this piece missed that.
Personally, I have no respect for Bill Wyman who, at the age of 47 thought he had the right to have an adult relationship with a 13 year old girl & then claimed it was unfair that his relationship was made so very public because he was famous. There are two words that apply to him & neither are anything to be proud of.
Respect your opinion
I seem to recall his son having a fling with the girl's mother.
@@mka4pol I have heard that but, I guess if one line is crossed, why not the next?
Wyman was a groomer and pedophile. His band ate Richard's was a self-absorbed drug addict that didn't bother to find the time to attend his infant son's funeral. Neither one of them deserves to be missed. Good riddance.
If Wyman was a cab driver from Halifax he would have been send to prison!
Ingelbert ? It’s Engelbert. I’d have thought knowing the performers stage name would be priority number one?
I know, right?
Glad they all made it past the 72 club.
the person who posted this is ''sad''
Not very bright either
Oh dear……why the sensational and angry voice……….this could be so positive
negative gets the clicks.
"We'll meet AGAIN. Dunno where. Dunno when."
?? in the WW II era song the singer, Vera Lynn, clearly enunciates the words "don't know where, don't know when"
@@dariusanderton3760 The bloke's clearly Australian and can't enunciate 😂
When has being in your 80s been in your 90s
I played in small time bands and felt pressure nevertheless. Alcohol definitely made it easier to perform in front of people. I quit drinking and realized that it was completely unessesary. Doug Kershaw and I traded stories in Los Vegas in about 1994 when we had both recently stopped drinking. Wishing him the best.
I had the same experience with alcohol. When I first started to play in bands I had to drink (In my mind) alcohol to get in stage. I was very shy and I hated being the center of attention but there I was playing lead guitar. I used to be mad at God for that but now I think he just has a great sense of humor.
Musicians are like politicians. They never know when to bow out gracefully. 😂
🤔 Never were truer words spoken !...
@@alancrisp1582 DUMB
Everyone eventually becomes Spinal Tap.
I would not mind being any of these guys.
No kidding huh lol? These people aren't sad they're just old and they all had great lives
Some can still sing
how is how they live sad? they have all overcome and survived. why does your title have to be so manipulative?
There’s a UA-cam video of a 1974 interview of Dick Van Dyke being interviewed by Dick Cavett and he opened up about his past alcoholism.
I found David Cassidy's decline sadder since he was younger and was a such a hearthrob for all the girls when I was a teen.
You spelled “ Engelbert “ wrong.
After watching all of this. I have a good idea. Retire around 60 and get off the earth of entertainment and enjoy the rest of your life. A musicians life is a traveling circus, doing the same tricks over and over again. It sucks! That's why they have to drink and do drugs. There's so much to see and enjoy without a calendar, schedule or a clock. That's what I've done and I've never looked back!
Good on you mate👍☝
Rubbish. With folks like Bob Dylan and Paul McCartney, music has been all they've done in their lives. They shouldn't stop at 60 because, in your view, doing so, " sucks." Many of these artists, had emotional problems and addictions, while in their twenties. During their prime. Your angle is myopic, puerile, and sophomoric.
I opened for Doug Kershaw in Huntington Beach and The Palomino Club in North Hollywood. Nice Guy...
Live is a bitch, for almost everybody
Where's the sad part?!
Yoko Oh No...sad that she was included with people of actual talent, to the exclusion of others.
You missed Clint Eastwood.
I can't think of one instance of him playing an instrument and/or singing.
Yes Clint sang in the 1969 musical " Paint Your Wagon" I remember it well I was about 9 and had to leave the theater with my dad who walked out about 30 minutes into the movie.
Buddy guy what a musician

If you are lucky you will get old. Sad that people are so afraid to get older.
This program seems fair and accurate, based on the content about those people I know quite a bit about, and the supporting imagery is representative and appropriately placed. There were only a very few instances in the program where the profiles seem oddly truncated, such as for Quincy Jones, or incomplete, but we must remember the program is not intended to provide full biographies.
The unfortunate, lurid, and silly inclusion of "...How They Live is Sad," in the show's title nearly caused me to skip giving the program a try, owing to my knowing these kinds of programs love to misrepresent their own shows in the hopes of misleading the audience for the sake of grabbing viewers; but I knew Vintage TV is not the worst of the offenders so I took a look and liked what I saw. Most of these performers have earned our great respect, for they have spent their lives in making the world a better and far more enjoyable place in which to dwell, sometimes at a cost to their own well-being.
There are a number of other musicians moving up the ladder to over 80 years of age, so make room! Thank you for a good show!
Did you give a college freshman $30 to write that script? Just horrid.
I was thinking $10 and 6th grader.
I saw a meme that Kieth Richards played guitar at Adam & Eves wedding. 😂
INCOMPLETE. Where is John Mayall!!! Yoko is a stretch at best.
Thank you, those are some of the greatest ❤
Not everyone had a good life. Most of the reason people took on music might be to get away from the negative life

What are the details surrounding KB's accident? I cannot find any details about what kind of accident KB had.
The video is made by a robot, or by AI. They don't understand that all humans get old and that old is not equivalent so sad for humans. For robots, old is synonymous to obsolete and useless, therefore sad perhaps. For AI, old doesn't exist because because they don't exist either, at least physically.
It’s not bot made ☺️
Dick Van Dyke is the shit. Chitty Chitty Bang Bang is a great movie and Diagnosis: Murder is a great show!
I've noticed this before but it bears repeating:
Young Willie nelson looks a lot like (in some cases) Eddie Vedder.
Sorry about that
Are there any musicians who are NOT junkies or drunks...er, I mean, struggling with the challenge of addiction.
Frank Zappa. Very anti drugs
@@spencerhardy8667 Agree. Interesting that we have to go back about 50 years to find one.
The great musicians of the 1960's were NOT BABY BOOMERS. They were the War Baby generation, a segment of the previous generation - born into hardship and the trauma of war (WWII 1939-1945). The War baby musicians wrote music which greatly lead and influenced their younger baby boomer siblings - but they were not BB.. The trauma that War Babies experienced in early childhood (their parents were fearful and home life suffered from lack of food and clothing) effected their music. The economic abundance that the BB were born into didn't begin until c. 1950. I keep waiting for academics to start writing about the effect of WWII on the musicians of the 1960's. I was born in 1944 and I still remember empty sugar shelves, my parents still using food ration stamps, and air raid sirens in the Bronx. Anyone born during the war became permanently traumatized during their early childhood - something that the baby boomers never experienced.
being old isn’t bad, think of the alternative.

Time stamps?
Was it required that "tumultuous" be used in everyone's bio?
The whole piece is a recap of those people live. Many of them are still active in the industry. That’s not sad.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts 🙂
All these artists are incredibly resilient. Isn't Van Dyke more of an actor, though?
Everything he did in his younger years involved singing ,stage or film.
More of a singer and a dancer
His name is Engelbert not ingleburt
Stop these moronic titles - the only ones who's life is sad is yours!
Englebert not Inglebert!
Tubluyerist x100 . Think of a new word...........
Why the fake overlay of dust and scratches?
Well I gave up! Kris Kristofferson not Chris Kistopherson, Englebert not Inglebert and Petula not Patricia Clark... I thought Americans were big on respect.
Thanks for sharing your Thoughts 🙂
Maybe it has something to do with America being a former British penal colony. After the British lost the American Revolution, Australia became their new penal colony. What do you expect from a bunch of unsophistocated former colonists?
They is not!
Vintage TV, how come everybody has to live sad when they get little older⁉️ Of course we all living things get older day by day. It’s a natural thing God made us to go through. It’s very sad you have to upload something like this for us to watch. Complete trash‼️ There is a happiness when you are 18 and same happiness continue when you are 80. BTW I am turning 81 next month and still living happy. Sure ups and downs comes with it but hey life is still great. We are taking all in Gods gift. You should change this video’s title to “Older musician still living in happy life”. Show us more positive side of our lives if you would please😊
I'll tell you what IS sad. Totally overusing the lame "Aged Film" filter. Totally distracting.
Sorry about that
😮 please donr include yoko ono. She shouldn't be included in this group.
Thanks for sharing yoour thoughts 🙂
Uh didn't the Beatles disband in 1980? Not 1970?
EDIT: I stand corrected the break up formalized in 1974
They broke up in 1970.
1970 IS WHEN THEY SPLT UP
1980 is the year John Lennon was killed.
They split up and got back together probably thousands of times in the span of their career. So no, I don't believe 1970 would have been the first or last time it happened 😂
Overblown exaggeration 🎶
Ringo "relegated to tambourine and maracas, an 'EXCLUSION THAT RESONATED THROUGHOUT THE BAND'S HISTORY' "...how histrionically over dramatic.......

Tumultuous use of the word tumultuous.
Man, I couldn't stand this disturbing video effect you've applied to the whole footage. After not even 10 minutes I had to give up watching.

Yoko “IS” the definition of sucks
You are negative beyond measure…
🤔 Just calm down Karen and smell the coffee ☕. Is it really that important ?..
@@alancrisp1582 - when every video is filled with negativity - yes, it’s that important. Van Dyke is a musician?
Practically everything Dick Van Dyke did in Broadway or movies was musical. I guess singing counts judging by the names in this video.
@@martinishot Then the title should've been singers my friend
I guess fame and fortune isnt what it appears to be.
if these artists had followed todays’ health advice ,they’d have all died of boredom or depression by age 40. There’s a lot to be said for ‘diversity’ 😂🐢but Bill Wyman must have some very influential chums …

Who cares!
It's not the length of your life that counts, it's the quality of life. Why live til 80- 90 if the last 10- 15 years you have dementia or persistent pain or some other debilitating health problem?
Why live if you are still alive?
