    My 12 year son Tyler and I got on an elevator at the Fontainebleau hotel in Miami Beach. Bob and his wife Delores were on the elevator. . She had a little white puppy. She was so gracious and so courteous.
    Bob Hope got extremely angry at the elevator operator. In a very loud and condescending voice Bob Hope scolded the operator for stoping to pick us up. He never acknowledged the fact to us that we were even there Yes, He was a jerk. I glad I finally have the opportunity to share this.

      @@MusicManMichaelDavis Lewis reminds me of another unfunny comedian, Chevy Chase who often thought he was funnier than he really was and would either laugh or smirk at his own jokes. Both were unfunny and as we have learned, reprehensible characters. Dean did just fine without him. I had a friend who lived in Kenya in the 1950s and 60s. He told me that a friend of his was a big game guide and that he had taken Crosby out for some shooting with a shotgun. Crosby fired a careless shot and blinded the man in one eye. This finished his career. Crosby didn't seem to care and gave him no compensation. The man's wife had recently had a baby and Crosby knew about it so he sent a gold plated safety pin for the baby's diaper and from then on ignored the family altogether. An arrogant scumbag indeed.

      I despise those days when privileged people like movie “stars” thought it was their right to go hunting those beautiful animals in Africa. Safaris should only ever be with cameras not guns.

    • @bryanodriscoll2123
      @bryanodriscoll2123 3 місяці тому

      One thing that should be taken into consideration is that hunters pay huge fees for the privilege of hunting in Africa. These fees pay for the upkeep of the wildlife and to pay the salaries of the gamekeepers, who prevent poaching. Those who go on photography safaris only pay a fraction of what a hunter would pay. Because the wildlife areas are limited and there is a lot of pressure from human population growth the animals have to be managed. Elephant herds often have to be culled because the parks can't support them. Better to have someone pay for a hunt than to just slaughter the animals.@@arnolddavies6734

    • @robertbenkelman947
      @robertbenkelman947 3 місяці тому +12

      The split with Dean was coming and he knew it. By the breakup, Dean Martin’s popularity had surpassed Jerry’s, Dean had made several movies that did well at the box office and his singing career had taken off. Plus Dean was friends with Frank Sinatra. Jerry Lewis was bitter because he had to take the backseat. Jerry’s career was at a standstill by 1965. Jerry Lewis announced his retirement from the Labor-day telethon but network gave him a blow, they fired Jerry Lewis and replaced the telethon with a 2 hour telethon without Jerry, this occurred around 2014. Jerry Lewis was a demanding controlling man. I believe the ratings of the telethon were slipping and the network did not want to tie up the airwaves for 24 to 36 hours. It’s a different world! Also, many of his friends were dead.

      Dean came off to me as just being hurt. Dean was a nice guy who made some mistakes *his drinking and partying and being around Frank perhaps, but Dean was so nice. I recall from his documentary that when JFK's inauguration happened, the "Rat Pack" was invited and because Sammy Davis Jr. was not included *being black, Dean would not attend, Frank however did go and so did everyone else but Dean showed loyalty to his friend. loved Dean, sorry for his sadness at the end, losing his son and his wife and family broke him totally. anyway, Jerry seemed like he was just a jealous jealous person who wanted to ruin everything if he couldn't be "the king" when Dean was clearly more popular, more talented and incredibly charming and good looking AND nice and everyone loved him, not Jerry. RIP dear Dean........

      The main reason a lot of these celebrities make appearances and commercials, visiting rest, homes in veterans and children’s hospitals is, because they can write it off on their taxes as a charitable contribution.
      if a football player does a commercial for a charity, and it takes one day out of their schedule, they can write off what they make in one football game on their taxes as a charitable contribution. If the player is making $16 million a year, $1 million per football game, that’s what he makes in one day, $1 million, so he can write off $1 million to charity if he does a commercial in one day

    I've heard reports of regrettable behavior of Gregory Peck (arrogant) and Buddy Hackett (A-hole) over the years.
    Edit: Given all the testimonials here, perhaps I was too hasty to condemn Gregory Peck. My opinion was based upon a first-hand account from my father-in-law, who was interviewing him at an event and when Mr. Peck saw a larger network present he abruptly walked off and sought out the bigger fish, thus snubbing him. One anecdote does not define a person.

      As if that pathetic, adolescent behavior wasn't already enough, there's also the infidelity, the horrible treatment of women, and the sexism. I've never liked him, he's always rubbed me the wrong way.
      Plus, he's a horrible actor. He has 3 emotional expressions: blank stare, pre- scowl, and scowl. I think I've only seen him smile on screen, 4 times in my whole life. And I've never seen a tearful, emotional, gut-wrenching scene from him. The man has the acting range of a paper clip. Overrated. He should stick to directing, and never talk to a chair again, that was asinine.

Mickey Rooney strolled over and asked me what I was drinking? We engaged in a short conversation. Mickey Rooney was friendly, and a cool guy!
