Very good review. I have the same watch but opted for the black rubber strap which is phenomenal and so comfortable. It is also amazingly accurate having gained a mere 10 seconds in 3 months! Such fantastic value for money and such an underrated watch company
Few years later with this comment but I just got mine in black for $1k off ebay. The prior owner had the center links brushed - a bonus for me. I like this design better than the newer GMT model but I'm hoping I can buy the newer bracelet and use it on this watch.⌚👍
Sold my old 39mm HC and got the new ceramic bezel one in black 41mm on the bracelet. This watch is a well made solid piece. Hope they bring out 39mm version at some point. Many people complain about the clasp but It holds well so I see no problem with it and you can also just purchase this watch on the well made rubber strap. This HC is a winner.

Just got mine from Jomashop about an hour ago. I got the Grey Ceramic and just love the look. This fits in to my collection between a blue dial Orient Trident diver and my Omega Seamaster Chronograph with a black dial. And you're right, the clasp is the only weak point but will do for now. Great review.

@@petermazza8656 I also purchased mine from Jomashop and no, you do not get the factory warranty when you purchase via grey market (you get the dealers). There are great deals to be had on sites like jomashop, Ashford, etc. but its really important to test the watch prior fully unpacking it. I suggest testing all the functions, winding it and then setting the time based off an atomic clock. Then check back in 24 hours to see how much time is gained/lost. If you're pleased with the result, your good to go. If not, most of their return policies are very reasonable.

The warranty cards are missing from the package when you get it. This is the second $1000+ watch I've bought from them and have no issues at all with quality. I've never had to use a warranty claim so can't speak to that.
Excellent review! If you can get a good deal, the Hydriquest is probably the best watch in that $1000 range. If there was any doubt, the ceramic bezel put it over the top.

It hasn’t left my wrist . I really have no complaints with it , even the clasp. Sure a push button would of been nice but I like the smaller clasp wears extremely comfortably.
Had the 43mm on my wrist on monday and immediately felt in love. Buying it in 4 weeks, blue with metal braclet. To my surprise it fits perfect on my 16,6cm / 56mm width wrist. Wanted it to be present and as big as possible. Tried also the 40mm and I did´nt like it. Too small. So I was kinda dissapointed, not expecting this positive surpise! So 43mm it is 🙂
Currently only 41 and 43mm are available here in EU. I have my hots for the 41 grey ceramic version. Any opinions on that wrt rarity and/or value retention.
My only criticism of this watch is that sometimes I feel this dial 'empty'... Maybe not on the 39mm-41mm version but definitely on the 43mm for sure. They could have added something... Anything to occupy that plain, laaarge back/green/blue real estate. Something is missing.
While I haven't handled the 43mm version we'll have to agree to disagree. I think far too many watches go out of their way to add text/specs to their dials. This one being so minimal is one of my favorite things about it.
Go with 39 mm for anyone. I never feel the crown ever. Lug width means nothing. The clasp is just fine. Putting water resistance on the clasp is not an issue. My accuracy is 5.5 seconds per day. Oris and Tudor are the competitors. I get no wiggle on the bezel. Seiko is not anywhere in the same class as Longines. I have a big wrist and the 39 is perfect. I laugh at people wearing big watches that look like dinner plates.
Longines hydroconquest lume is better than oris quis .If you glow a torch on the dial for some seconds and put off the light,you can see a fantastic lume which beyond the standard

About to get the 41mm as in upgrade for the ceramic mainly, don't know if to get the black or blue though. I like smaller watches coming from a Datejust turn o graph at 36mm as my main that I sold because I needed the money which I had since college. Thought the 41 could be to big but its my only option. 43 just looks huge tbh.

Excellent review! If you can get a good deal, the Hydriquest is probably the best watch in that $1000 range. If there was any doubt, the ceramic bezel put it over the top.
Tissot seastar comes with ceramic bezel at half this price

I just ordered one of these in blue but after seeing the black in this video I’m kind of wishing I went with black.

The blue and grey versions are sunray dials. Whole the this one and green arra more matte.

@@pmac206 The thickness actually reminds me a lot of the older pre-42mm seamasters. Lots of presence but super comfortable.

Did not know that they make a 4mm; that’s a good size for chickens, pigeons, & even mice; any critters with really small circumference hands or legs.

I dont know bout rarity but all the color ways seems to retain most of their value. Looks like most sell used between 900-1000 USD.

I have a 7 inch wrist and just bought the 41mm blue dial version, I would say definitely go for the 41..
41 for sure. I'm 7.5 and feel like the 43 was too big on my wrist.

Got mine today and I hate this bracelet, looks and feels cheap. It does not even feel like a solid link. But the dial is cool, still a good watch tho
Should've gotten it in rubber (seems to be the general consensus with this piece that the bracelet is pretty lackluster).
