Regarding some comments: This is NOT "THE" DMG Mori Plant in Germany. This is the old Deckel Maho Plant in Pfronten, where some(!) of the DMG Mori Milling machines are made. E.g. the DMU50 is assembled by Deckel Maho Seebach, some lathes are assembled in Bielefeld, other Lathes are made in Italy at Graziano Tortona. Some machine beds are milled at Famot Pleszew. Afaik the city of Pfronten will not give any more land to Deckel Maho, so further expansion is off the table there.
And that’s just the German stuff. The Japanese machines are made in Japan and Davis, CA.
@@jhilmer1 and in Le Locle, Switzerland, old Dixi-Machines Factory. 😉
Haha imagine having a facility like this in the old Deckel factory in the city center of munich!
Good job. You understand the details of the DMG Mori. Thanks for your information.
Yeah former DMG employee and current customer here: this is THE DMG plant, and I’ve been to all of them.
I was always interest to see someone do a tour of DMG Mori facility, thanks for the great video and man, what an amazing facility!.
I toured Deckel Maho Pfronten in October. Very impressive how they can move those monster machines through town. Our bus was almost rubbing shoulders with vehicles and buildings driving through town, those massive machines must be a real challenge. We came out of the factory and there were 4 or 5 people paragliding down from the peak of the mountain outside the factory. Very cool place.
Your video quality has improved so much from your early days. It’s very fun to watch.
Wow, thanks!
Every tour of a high-tech modern factory in Europe: giant windows, skylights, lots of natural light.
Every tour of a high-tech factory in the US: dark, no windows, daylight reserved for management.
Why?
Because in Germany, manufacturing is part of the fabric of their culture. They take pride in it, it is a very common and respectable field with a lot of innovation in opportunity, most factories treat employees very well. In America, the manufacturing workforce is depleting because business owners do not take care of their employees, advance their careers nor offer fair pay for highly skilled and intense trade labor, and also do not even take care of their facilities to make it a comfortable place to work. People in the states are looked down on for working in manufacturing because it doesn't pay for what it is really worth. It is a huge difference in culture. Sad reality but that is the answer to your question.
@@3RPRECISIONMFG Hm. I do not think that you can scher them all über einen Kamm. (little mixed language joke, it was funny in my head. German speakers will get it) It means you can not lump all together.
There are many employers in Germany who do not treat their employees well, and there are many employers in America who are not as evil as you describe. This is not a problem of a single country, but of the people. We Europeans like to tell ourselves that Americans talk a lot about freedom and then let themselves be enslaved. That is certainly the case, but not everywhere. Besides, it also exists in our country. Fortunately, I am not affected by it, because my employer actually behaves very fairly, but I know a lot of machinists who came from other companies and who did not fare so well there. I bet there are a lot of companies in America that are just so nice and treat their employees well. Of course, that's not to excuse those who fit that description exactly. I'm just saying that we're not free of this problem and we shouldn't think that it can only be bad elsewhere. Sorry for any mistakes, English is clearly not my first language.
P.S.: Production is also a part of American culture. There's a lot to be proud of there, too. Except, of course, the measurement system.
I appreciate your perspective and understand what you are saying. It is very true that wherever you go in the world, these issues in this industry exist. The point I was making was directly answering g that other user's question directly with an example that is true most of the time.@@dreieckrechteck2716
Robert Bosch, one of the most famous german engineers and entrepreneurs once said: I don't pay good salaries because I have so much money, but I have so much money because I pay good salaries. And that says a lot about german engineering culture.
Вот бы у нас в Узбекистане внедрить такую культуру Европейского производства, но к сожалению менталитет и многие факторы, тянут нас назад в прошлое...
Wow... so impressive. Ultra highend machining for real. Thanks Ian for sharing.
Thanks! awesome tour !
Thank you for the factory tour.
Congrats for the video! Amazing job!
6:30 The difference between a German factory guy vs. every other nation: A german guy NEVER breaks the rule of walking in non-safe zone on the factory floor. These lines on the floor have significance!
DMG - It's just amazing!
This factory is insane 🤯
Haven't watched the full video as yet, but intrigued with the arrangement of overhead cranes at 0:43. Looks like the grey painted crane arms can traverse sideways (not swing), braced partly by the higher level rails for the full width portal cranes above.
Not a criticism but maybe a request maybe a little less camera movement on the next one. World class facility!
Request denied
He just needs a gimble
Yeah bro can't hold the camera still
Amazing... Looks like an F1 garage. Can almost eat off of the floors.
DMG Mori - the best 👌
as a joung upcoming engineering student and cnc freak ( bought my first cnc at 17, and planning and building a 5 axis cnc at 18, and yes i made that money myself) they are definetly a DREAM employer and they speak german and are only 400km away from where i live 😮 literally perfect
Facinating!!
Impressive
Amazing
i was in Pfronten factory 30 years ago. and now it looks compelety different. Great works.
Great Video.
a dream shopfloor
Ian, this factory tour was ĵust simply stellar!
Wow! Just wow!
Nothing short of AMAZING!
What incredible machines!
I'm ĵust blown away!
Keep em coming Ian!!!! 😊
Thank you very much for checking it out!

No wonder if DMG produces orignal Jaegers from Pacific Rim & Iron Man suits 🔥🔥❤️
Awesome video.
DMG makes the best machine tools hands down The Seimens 840d touch controller is the best cnc controller I have ever used.
A fantastic controller. We use them on our DST Ecospeed machines.
Nice to so clean macine shop👍
this is great
Thanks for video, the conveyor is incredble! Its a dream to see the casiting process, please do it if it possible
that was incredible machine,i'm just thinking how amazing the DMG MORI need other DMG MORI to create another DMG MORI
precision mechanical engineering
Man those guys aren't banging rocks together there. That has got to be the most impressive manufacturing facility I've ever seen.
This is amazing
Nice video 👌🏻
1000-pocket changer? Good gravy.
I worked there a couple of times for a different company, one of the nicest and kindest customers.
Grüße ins schöne Allgäu 🤝🙌
incredible machines
People and machines making the machines that make the chips that make the Internet (and all kinds of other stuff). I keep saying nothing really happens on this planet until someone cuts a piece of steel. Thanks. Awesome plant. Nice to be able to at least see it. Thanks for an orderly tour too.
AMAZING FACTORY, not even a scratch on the floor! If you wanna do it right, take note...very Interesting tour. All very logical of course. A place for everything and everything in it's place!
very good interview style. but like someone said, I would like longer vedio, maybe like 1 hour, because it is so interesting
More to come!
High tech machine dmg Mori❤❤❤
WOW!!! That's all I can say, can't find any other words.
amazing people with amazing machines. also do they guys still use plc for automation
it would be very interesting to see where the castings come from, how they are aged, how they are machined. the same for the linear guides...
Good Video, next time you have to visit Trumpf in Ditzingen
En EBZ hay varias fresas de esta marca,,se ve que funcionan muy bien
How much do these machines cost ? I wonder 😅😊
crazy
Essas máquinas são top!
Magníficas, e sonho de consumo, para quem gosta de máquinas operatrizes e tecnologia.

That is some cutting edge manufacturing on a bewildering scale! An idea for a future video might be a look back at the Elgin watch factory, the largest ever built, manufacturers of the smallest consumer machines. A lost 1931 film reel of the factory was uploaded with amazing facts and images of large scale precision machining. You won't believe your eyes at what once was.
That is amazing…
I Transport these huge machines across the US
Been there too, amazing factory for machines. German/japan machines are best.
I have a question can DMG MORI machines manufacture photolithography machine that is used in semiconductor industry
DMG MORY is high level machines
how did you get a shop tour without any people around?
We got very, very fortunate and DMG Mori was very kind to accommodate us at the tail end of the work day / just after closing
UA-cam gave me to watch CNC god mori after 10 different DIY CNC project guys, so now im at finish i think
Dmg mori is the highest of quality, our most accurate lathes are dmg mori
i need that
Where is the giant machines?
Fun drinking game, take a shot every time he says wow. Good luck!
Is this related to Mori Seiki?
Yes indeed, DMG Mori is the company founded by combining Deckel Maho and Mori Seiki
Nice factory, but Okuma's are higher end though.
🤯
100%, yeah, genau! :D

Wow not a pallet chip in site.
I quadri elettrici ?
Think everything starts here. A milling machine
ONE CAN SAY . THAT THAY CAN PUT THERE HAT ON AND GO HOME EARLY. WHAT A PLACE .
Where is this factory located?
This factory is in Pfronten, Germany
Trust me those are kind of small. I used to work with an Asquith CNC back in the nineties with four heads and a 10 x 5 meter table, we did very big work on that mostly one off's but it wasn't as sofisticated as todays machine tools. It was designed to machine nuclear waste flasks out of solid steel castings, forty ton of which would be waste material. I'm 70 and retired now and things have moved on a bit with multi axis machining.
Can I buy a machine that can reverse engineer and cut this whole factory?🤔
Good video shows the assembly of the machines shows the logistics center BUT dmg mori in these kinds of videos never shows the actual machine shop where the machines are actually made BEFORE assembly I mean if haas for example shows the world how the machines machine the raw castings how come dmg don't do the same cause more or less that's what people actually want to see... but nonetheless a nice video
It´s because the Video was filmed in Pfronten, wich is mostly an assembly location. They manufacture smaller components as for example Parts of the Table 9:27 and parts of the spindle Head 3:49 in House. Most of the bigger components are manufactured in Poland by the Famot location from DMGMORI. There are seperate Videos from this Location. ua-cam.com/video/XQREaLQvux0/v-deo.html&ab_channel=DMGMORI
I really like to work in this factory if any chance to me work in this huge company?
We crashed the spindle in new sprint 65
I don't know how this guy gets access to these amazing places. He is a terrible interviewer, asks dumb questions, and makes even dumber comments, but I give him credit. He shows the most amazing machine shop footage I have ever seen.
At least you enjoy the footage - I ain’t going to be everyone’s cup of tea!
No machining demo???

Let's face it; Germans make the best machines ever!
19.4.24
German technology is the best…👍👍
HAV or HEV what are those?
a house not "your house"😉
Bigger than some places I’ve lived for sure 😂
I didnt really get to look at the machines you were moving way too fast
Почему не используют сож .why not use sozh
If that company was in the USA they would be closing it and moving it to Mexico.
Amazing seeing this tour but watching this on tv i got a headache…too much camera movement, constant zooming in and out.
Would be much more comfortable to have camera a bit away from you two talking and maybe zooming out as you come closer and maybe pan left or right on some machine along the way.😢
Bud, build == ensemble same thing
We have one…we call it the Morie-suckie…If we move it we have to have a service call to confirm it’s not in Iran…We got it used and the person buying it didn’t didn’t know the questions to ask…Not impressed…edit: The video is fine. Good job there.
There is a reason for that. The Americans didn’t like that DMG Mori was selling machines to their “enemies”. So they sanctioned them.
Just got a monoblock 75 at my shop. Very kool stuff!
Dude looks like he's wearing women's pants lol what is with that nowadays? I bet his shorts are shorter than hers too 😂
Ya men wearing tight pants is absolutely stupid
I feel like i was never good enough ,
Who stuck a badge on saying 5-axis champion?
He needed to go to where the people write the software.
We bought one
It malfunctioned for a year.
They put a plug in wrong hole on chuck(C) axis
Coolant dripped down into encoder.
Not the German quality I anticipated
醜い腕を隠しなさい!!!
No thanks
where most machines are made except except the ones made in Poland, Italy, Japan and China….
I would like once that the hosts are not so brown-nosy and not try to hype up everything they see. It's cringe
No!
When he asked about the clear spin window. I said goodbye to this video. You’re clueless dude.
Ive ran DMGs for the last 3yrs. Im telling you theres no going back. DMGs are the Cadillac of Machine Tools. Change my mind.
My pops got one and we haven’t regretted it.
@@jordankennedy1494 what kind of DMG? At my last 3 shops were all DMG shops.
