It is always wonderful to watch this kind of video from the part manufacturer perspective.
Seeing just how clean everything is brings to my mind that the unsung heroes behind the scenes are the cleaning crews, allowing for the machinists to focus on what they have to.
You can see it in their eyes that the staff all love working there, just how their faces and eye light up when talking about what they are doing and the pride they have in it.
Titan, thanks once again for bringing these kinds of videos to us.

Great tour, Titan! Schunk has state-of-the-art facilities. The ability to manufacture and utilize their own products in-house is the best form of efficiency and quality control, in my opinion. Seeing Schunk's employees working with larger, multi-tasking machinery so early in their careers speaks volumes about their training program. I also appreciate their chip management system. Thanks for sharing this great video. While the technology is world class the working environment says so much more.
It’s evident that at Schunk the management values the experience of its employees as evidenced by the happiness and tenure of so many employees…8,15 even 30+ years!
While in the States the focus of management is all too often the case KT (knowledge transfer)e.g. “how do we get as much of the information in this person’s brain to that cheaper person’s brain or better yet a sweat shop in a foreign land to increase our bottom line”.
It is no wonder why so few products are still manufactured in the USA compared to last century.
How do I know this? I lived and worked for manufacturers in both the States and Germany for over a decade, each, and the contrasts couldn’t be more different from the perspective of how employees are treated developed and invested in with annual training.
Additionally, it’s important to note that what Schunk enjoys is partially made possible by virtue of import tariffs the EU places on products dumped there by low wage, unsafe and/or state subsidized manufacturing which helps to level the playing field.
We now know that governments who encourage and protect local manufacturing have higher quality of living and lower social strife.
Please keep posting these great videos!

It’s just the style… most videos are filmed by my team and they are experts… the German videos are more of a raw… run and gun style… where I am all by myself, taking the viewers on a fast paced tour through a shop… like, hey check this out.
I filmed that entire facility in 3 hours by myself.
Many love it when I do videos like this…
Others prefer the slower more produced content.
Nothing is rehearsed … I just take a camera and say… hey come with me and let’s go check it out.

14:02/28:31 The robot arm with the magnetic attachment, does the material that arm fetches retain some of the magnetism? If so do you have to demagnetize the material before machining it so that the chips do not stick to it? Maybe this irrelevant, I do not know. 🤔❗

    • @vonzis
      @vonzis 6 місяців тому

Depends on the material of the part, some materials are easier to magnetize.

Most manufacturing facilities in Germany look similar and many young people train to work there. Just think about that many of the tools Titans shop uses are made in Germany and companies like Zeiss, Siemens, Bosch, ThyssenKrupp, Trumpf, festo, Jungheinrich, Deutz etc. are all German. Germany has over 9000 machine producing companies. There is for example the world leader that produces machines to make shoes - the cheap China versions and the expensive brands that are not handmade - the German company DESMA.
