Probably at the time psyren is not that hot in japan, there are many classics manga that i wish to get adapted into anime like teppu, holyland and many others but it ain't got that many popularity in japan at the time those series including psyren was published
@@sky3880 despite it being cancelled, it was given enough time to get to a solid ending, albeit a rushed one, which an anime could fix, and it wouldn't even take long to adapt the full story

Psyren was a manga I read when I was in half way done with middle school and, even to this day as a junior in high school, I can remember every page, every chapter, every character and the voices I gave them as I read that story and it just did so much for me during that time.
Psyren isn't the most grandiose piece of fiction, it isn't the most well drawn or well written story with the best ending, but that one manga I credit to being the change I needed in my life. After reading that story, I got into writing and wanted to write a story that changes people's lives like this work by Toshiaki Iwashiro did to me, and is why I kept drawing even through the shit that went down over the last couple of years.
Psyren absolutely changed my life for the better and I still call it, to this day, a masterpiece of a story and my all time favourite manga series

@@Salooty69 it got an ending, a proper ending. It may not have been where Toshiaki Iwashiro wanted to have ended Psyren, but it was an ending to the whole story. There is no reason this manga can't get an anime adaptation

Holy crap I LOVED Psyren, it was easily one of my favorite manga out of JUMP and to this day I was so baffled as to why it hasn't gotten an anime.

I first found Psyren at my local book fair in like, 4th grade!! I fell in love with it ever since!
bruh those book fairs went hard.
Despite the rushed ending psyren still is an amazing read. They need to make an anime adaptation it deserves it.
I loved both Psyren and Mx0. I had trouble finding online discussion about Psyren, so I thought my tastes were weird or something. Mx0 is like a muggle getting accepted to Hogwarts and has to keep up a charade so they don't get expelled.

On top of that, everyone thinks that he's OP because he beat up a Gold card teacher on his first day and he got a Gold card as well to hide the fact that he got not magic. It was hilarious watching him try to wing his way out of sticky situations while still making them believe he's a Gold card holder.
Mx0 is massively underrated as is Psyren. People say the ending of Psyren is rushed because it had to be. But before the budget slice, this manga was pristine. Flawless, man..

Psyren is so good! Jesus Christ I’m so happy to see it on one of your guys’ lists! Honestly I was pleasantly surprised by both Joey and Garnt’s 3x3. I usually keep up with TT with this channel but from the clips I’ve seen I think I’m going to make time to listen to the whole episode this week!
Psyren and Mxzero were two manga that until this day hate that ended when thing were getting really awesome... The same can be said about double arts (from the author of NIsekoi) ----- massive recommendation.
Joey reminded me of my the massive hate I had with Shonen Jump cancelling really good projects left and right back in the day.

When I saw this title I insta-clicked, I loved Psyren soooooo much, it was my first shonen from the first issue of jump I bought at a scholastic book fair at my school, I was so sad when it was cancelled
I found psyren through my local library and I fell in love with it. It's legitimately such a unique story and I hadn't read anything like it before
Psyren and Mx0 were great. I have fond memories of both.

I never met someone who knows Psyren lol. I'm reading Darwin's Game right now (and watched the anime) and I keep thinking of Psyren. I agree, Psyren had so much potential. It's sad that it got cancelled and the author couldn't tell the story the way he wanted.
The author telling the story he wanted isnt always something a fan wants look at what happened with shougeki no souma and seven deadly sins. Even if the author wanted to tell more of a story the way it ended works and if it had gone on for more it might have turned to shit.
Great manga, just finished rereading it. Fyi, main character's name is Ageha Toshiba, and his "psi" power is called Melzez Door. Concept of powers in that manga were phenomenal. If they decided to make it an anime or start making more chapters, feel like it would gain the popularity it deserved in the 2000's. Need more manga like this in my life 🔥🤩
Correct me if I am wrong, but I remember the closest thing we have for a Psyren anime was a cameo of the some characters in Sket Dance anime. I remember being excited to see those cameos in anime

Shaman king reboot followed the manga but I didn't like it as much as the original shaman king.
Shaman King also wasn't a cancelled series.

@@aketsuuu 1998's Shaman King's Ending Didn't Align With The Manga Unfortunately, it doesn't align with Takei's vision. Studio Xebec decided to conclude the series to give their fans a sense of closure instead of waiting for the manga to finish.

Pysren to me is one of the overlook manga that I really wish to get anime & finish the real end in that form.

Love Psyren getting recognition - the author handled the rushed ending so well, I thought it was a totally planned twist. It’s a shame, but didn’t diminish the series at all for me.

I loved Psyren as well. It had so much potential, but it sort of lost itself and I think suffered due to struggling with rankings in Jump. At least that was my impression back then, as I felt some things went a whole different direction. Psyren felt more mature than a lot of the other series at the time and was a really good addition to Jump imo.

Psyren was really interesting and definitely had potential. The characters were kinda meh personalitywise, but the mysteries and the fights were neat. And Ageha's power is probably the most interesting I have seen in a shounen protagonist.
I loved Psyren back in the OneManga days. Shame it got axed.

Funny enough Psyren is the reason why I got to read Alive. The hole thing power that the MC's bestfriend has reminds me so much of Ageha's power.
I came across Psyren when I was looking through the “spiritual successor” page on TV tropes and saw that some people, strangely enough, saw Homestuck as a spiritual successor to this manga. Psyren is way better, for the record.

I still remember the character design and artwork and I read this when it came out, and waiting for the next chapter to come when it was serializing at the time, urgh the pain of this series not getting an anime is really sad. Mx0 same 👌🏻
The way Garnt talks about Psyren as a „shounen mystery manga with lots of twists“ makes me wonder what he’d think about stuff like Pandora Hearts or D Gray Man

Decent idea well executed and while the ending was rushed it did have respect for the characters.

Never seen it but reminds me of a folktale about a guy fishing helps/meets a mermaid (in some its a turtle) he goes down to a underwater city and marries the mermaid (the turtle would introduce) in his excitement he thinks about his family and wants to atleast have a proper good bye, the mermaid while worried permits this but with a condition that if he didn't return within a time frame he wouldnt be allowed back, the turtle gives him a lift up to the surface and he heads towards his house only to find it abandoned. looking around he notices that hundreds of years had passed he runs towards the ocean looking for the turtle but he cant find him, he was late. the end of the story is him going to a library and finding news papers about a young boys sudden disappearance and the tragic end of the family he left behind
I randomly thought about Psyren, wondered if anyone made a video talking about it (it had been one of my favorite manga when I was young), and what do I find here?
I still have all of my physical copies of the entire series on my bookshelf, except for 9-11 which I have on an old e-reader

Melchsee's door black nova form has to be the coolest thing I've ever seen in manga.
I was born the day this manga was localized. This is one of my all-time favorites, up until the ending. It, sadly, sprinted to the end. The Legend of Ageha Yoshina should be experienced by everyone, though. It's truly beautiful.
Definitely should get an anime and let it branch off into a new ending and maybe have a few seasons of different perspectives to add another layer to the story. Loved this series so much. One of the first manga I bought along side 1stchapter of one piece and another series called ultimo(even a Stan lee cameo).
I have every volume of Psyren and I loved it to death when it came out but no one knew of it. Really cool to hear more praise of it

Psyren was great. Always wanted to cosplay as Nemesis Q. Another manga that gave me similar vibes as Psyren was...blanking on the name. Basically a bunch of people across the globe are suddenly seized by suicidal urges and immediately act on them, but the ones who have the urges and restrain themselves gain superpowers and are compelled to travel towards a particular location.
Every other year or so, I do a quick google search to see if Psyren got an anime adaptation. That and Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer.
I F’n love Psyren! I just now finished re-reading it for the 4th time! I’m really mad they didn’t even try to make an anime or at least an OVA, Psyren is definitely among my favorite manga of all time. That’s funny in and of itself because some of my favorite manga (with over 100 chapters) either don’t have an anime (Psyren and MHA Vigilantes), are soon getting an anime (at time of typing) (Undead and Mission: Yozakura Family) or they did get anime but they didn’t adapt completely (Beelzebub and Toriko). Not to mention Beelzebub never got an official English translation.
Crazy to think that some of the Author’s assistants were Yuki Tabata (Black Clover’s Author) and Ryuhei Tamura (Beelzebub’s Author) and Naoya Matsumoto (Kaiju No.8’s Author).

I just loved psyren, it was of the mangas that I read from start to finish in like 2010, it was just great, I still remember the story somewhat and it was the reason I started reading mangas in the first place because it just didn’t have an anime. I hope some people will do something about that, fortunately we have a culture now that likes bringing staf back for nostalgi so an nice would be nice
Psyren has one of the most unique and creative power systems. I might even put it above HxH's "Nen" if we could have seen more of it if it hadn't been canceled.

I finally finished reading Psyren with the SJ app and I felt that the second half of Psyren felt very rushed. It also was weird that two of the five main characters just disappeared for like half the series and the third that stayed with the group basically didn't want to be a main character until the end of the series (apparently the author was going to kill off that character but changed their mind). I get those characters were doing things in the background, but maybe let the reader see them rather than write those characters out of the story? There's a difference between character knowledge and reader knowledge.

For those wondering why Psyren didn't get much recognition, it probably is because it is ahead of its time. Psyren has a very unique plot, time jumps and aliens etc., But still it has a pretty good pace and has 16 volumes/146 chapters which are a fun read. I highly recommend going through them as ending is still very satisfying even if it was rushed.

Man, this takes me back. I remember in late middle / early high school, I would frequent my closest public liberty and in the manga section it had some Shonen Jump mags with the first dozen or so chapters of Psyren. Tracked down as many of them as I could find and then read the rest once I figured out where to read them online. I really enjoyed my time reading it, had a solid premise and the action and mystery were handled well. I just wish that the ending and final arc wasn't so poorly rushed (but I can understand why).

I randomly came across this whilst browsing manga many years ago and it instantly hooked me.....I read it all in one go. Such a satisfying manga. I don't recall it being cancelled. I thought it had an ending. Then again this was years ago and I might be remembering wrong.

Psyren was an amazing series I want to try and get the full collection of.
The main character's name is Ageha, and it's an awesome manga, I was surprised to see it in Garnt's 3x3 and that Joey also likes it, at first it was kind of GantZ lite but after they comeback to the present it goes in a diferent direction and the power system is just amazing.

This reminds me of Geshell Blume where it was also on shonen jump, but got axed. Anyways the setting took place in a dystopian world, and the premise was dystopian society where a demon lord was chosen at random from the worlds inhabitants. hero's are also chosen from the system, but it's just dark on how the hero's use their power and what their sense of justice is an morality when using their power. It's defo a series that i would love to see remade into a proper manga with a proper run time and ending that isn't rushed.
It's so wild to me that other people know about psyren. I found it randomly several years ago, binged the whole thing, and have never heard about it again til now. Really solid manga

Even though Psyren's ending did feel a tad rushed, it was still a very solid ending compared to what some other series have received. I really hope that it one day gets the anime adaptation it deserves, because it is, in my opinion, one of the best manga out there, and it's a shame that more people don't known about it.
Dude hearing about Psyren again is so surreal. I found it in my middle school library when I was going through my omegaweeb phase and read all the books I could find. I think I read all the books? I can't really remember but i had totally forgotten about it until tonight. Thank you Anime Boys 👍
Psyren it's still the one manga we continue to cry with my friends every time we remember it never had an anime. Such a waste of potential, so many good characters.

Psyren is by far one of my fav manga's. EASILY in my top 5 non main stream. up there with, X, and Id.
Of all the axed manga I read, Psyren had the most complete ending.
My biggest issue with the series is the early throwaway characters who you thought would be important. We did get a secondary cast that were great, but it'd be nice if those original characters got explored more. Also, I felt like the series perfectly set up for one final arc in the present time.
I am proud to say I read both approximately about 15 years ago and recently re-read them again since they are both unique and very good.. Honestly compared to the shit we have right now they are leagues better and I am hoping Psyren would get an anime adaptation because parasyte got one.

Damn I remember this one. Back when scans weren't that great. I stopped before it finished though. Heard the ending wasn't the greatest. If they could make this, Air Gear, Gantz, Alive the final evolution, into good adaptations with Mappa quality no censorship no filer it would be the best.
