The ps5 is equivalent to a 2070 super, it's too weak to run an UE5 game that implements lumen and nanite at native 4k 60 fps. Just because Microsoft and Sony advertise next gen 4k it doesn't mean it's true all the way. It's why consoles get a ''pro'' version in the middle of their life cycle. People should be more realistic and expect 1440p 60 instead of 4k from a 2070s equivalent console when it comes to UE5

Why would this interest you when those don't? It's definitely a riff on Souls. I don't mean to downplay Hexworks' innovations, but it's fundamentally the same car, just a new coat of paint. Now that sounds great to me, but I can't in good faith recommend it to someone who isn't into Souls. It's 90% the same game.
Am looking forward to this game, but not buying day one. Have a few games to play already. The original LotF was a good game once it had been patched. I heard it was ropey on release and it got slated in reviews for it. By the time I played it, it ran flawlessly. Worth playing if you didn't already.
Some of this stuff feels like it will make the game super tough. Like having chip damage whike blocking, and only being able to get it back by yanking their soul, attacking it, then attacking them again once the soul goes back to their body. That seems like a lot just to get health back. And from blocking at that. Why are all of these new souls-like games making you take chip damage from blocking? Makes no sense at all. At least Lies of P had perfect guard, and also let you get your health back with like one or two hits, along with buffs to reduce chip damage and more health regain when attacking. The “one bonfire per area in NG+ unless you have the stuff to make more” seems like even more artificial difficulty.
I don’t know where you talking about, LOTF give you much more ways to heal more then the majority of other souls games, not only you healing flask like darksouls but if you get hit you can get you HP back by hitting the enemy, even if that’s not enough you can rip their souls and attack that souls to get your HP back. Guess what? There is also a magic system with healing abilities, like, what more healing you want ?… For the damage you take even if you have your shield or weapons up is made so you can focus on specific builds instead of using the shield as a very cheesy way of playing extremely safe, it reward you for taking risk, if you want to focus on a shield build you have to find shields that negate more damage, you also have a parry mechanic much more forgiving then any other souls game.
regarding the performance on consoles - I'm confused. On the chat on Reddit last friday the devs declared that both the performance and quality modes on consoles will run in native 4k res. In the video it says they confirmed that it won't. Which one is true?

I have been a tester of the game for the last 8 months. Since the first time i entered the world 60 fps was a thing. There are 2 modes for console. Quality and Performance and a Fps boost for quality mode which is between performance and quality and runs at 40 fps instead of 30 while reducing the graphics just a bit. Its similar to Lies of P. I dont know how the pc version plays but i wouldn't think it wont have a 60 fps mode.
Nope, impossible. You'll need to go into umbral within the first 5 minutes of the game. A challenge run where you only play in umbral is possible, though.
One thing I need and want to know is if you can mix armors like what I’ve read from the previous game is that you can only use complete sets of armors so if you are unable to combine armors then for me is a no for this game cause i like yo equip different boots and gloves and helmets and chest armor like in all previous like souls games

Developers estimated one playthrough to take 35-40hrs for typical Souls players. Which is on the short side, about the same as Bloodborne, but not bad. I also read that you can't do everything in one playthrough. The game has three endings, and apparently each one has some exclusive content. No telling how much though.
When focusing on the main objectives, Dark Souls III is about 32 Hours in length. If you're a gamer that strives to see all aspects of the game, you are likely to spend around 98½ Hours to obtain 100% completion.

The engine is set by default to render at 78% and has tsr enabled by default. Not even development can be done at native resolution. An empty level with 1 cube and 1 character reduces 20fps from the 120fps max just because of lumen.

Yeah the original was very good, had some issues that got fixed and a few that still need work, but overall a really good game that got overlooked.
First Lords of the fallen was first souls-like which was not made by FromSoftware.

Having played the three Dark Souls games, DS3 is the best for first time I think. More accessible and forgiving.

You can mix armors. I saw the hud earlier and it had specific slots for each armor piece like the Fromsoft games

The engine is set by default to render at 78% and has tsr enabled by default. Not even development can be done at native resolution. An empty level with 1 cube and 1 character reduces 20fps from the 120fps max just because of lumen.
