- Don't have negative thoughts! Here's the wonderful "Mantra" password theme from Faxanadu, arranged for AY-3-8910 chip (used in Vectrex, MSX, and other retro game platforms) in Furnace. Original song by June Chikuma.
This adaptation is heavily based on the excellent transcription by @wraize78 which you can find here: • Faxanadu: Mantra
Or her Musescore version:

This song translated pretty well to this chip because the original song only requires 3 voices, all of them sounding like NES duty cycle 2. The AY-3-8910 gives 3 square wave voices so it was relatively easy to adapt the notes 1-for-1. But I tried to vary up the instrumentation as much as I could while honoring the original.
Great job, really like the echo mechanic on this one. Very cool vibes!
Thank you!
Excellent work! I agree with RedAux, I really like the echo in this as well. Also, I can't help but think of meat sticks, for some reason. :D
Thank you so much!
@@sevencastleforest You're welcome. :)
wonderful cover!
Thanks Burst, I’m so glad you liked it! ❤️
You should have said it’s for the MSX :) and no one would have known the difference 😂
Well done
Thanks! I contemplated adding a loud buzzing sound to make it more accurate to the Vectrex experience, but ultimately decided against it 😁
That's really cool, sorry I missed the stream! Did you do that start to finish today?
Oh no worries about missing the stream at all! And in this case I had started this piece a few weeks ago and then noodled with it periodically in between other projects, so the stream was mostly about deconstructing and analyzing the song ❤️
