Thank you for this lovely interview. I am a registered nurse and have been nursing for 21 years. I was diagnosed as autistic (also ADHD) within the last 6 months . I currently work in the ER, which makes the chaos and novelty part of me happy, but also bring a lot of empathy to the job. The compassion is wonderful, but I will admit that it does slow me down, which is not always the best trait to have as an ER nurse. Oh well. It's really wonderful and refreshing to hear from other autistic people who work in the medical profession. The good doctor has plenty of valuable advice here.
Hi I'm a medical resident in sweden and currently on a waiting list for an adhd and/or autism diagnosis. I'm also a lesbian so your story as an older lesbian is inspiring. I work in general practice for the government, so i get to choose my schedule up to a point 😊Thank you so much for this interview, it was enlightening and interedting! 😊
Thank you so much for your comment! I'm glad that you liked the interview, and definitely agree that Janet's story is inspiring and interesting. Wishing you the best for your medical residency-- I'm always happy to hear of neurodivergent people entering the medical field. :)
