I'm so happy you went over my decklist. I hope I can make Alli happy. This is exactly the message I always want to convey. You don't have to play the Tier 1 deck. You can play what you love, give it your all, adapt to the meta and still get a great result on a good day. Thank you very much for your analysis. ❤

Great job on commentary Andreas. Question: while you say there is no need for banning something out of the Mystic Forge deck based on power level, what are your thoughts on Vexing Bauble? It’s already been restricted in Vintage and it does feel like it kind of invalidates one of the key facets of the Legacy format which is Force of Will (and Daze to an extent) as the police officer of the format. Is that healthy in your opinion?
Thanks Martin! I had lots of fun as well. It's restricted in Vintage because it's a HEAVY play/draw format and people love their moxen. See Chalice restriction for reference. Players have historically relied on Forces and Dazes forever to keep any combo deck in check. People complain when blue is on top. People complain when blue faces challenges. People complain when does well. People complain when Nadu does well. I've seen it all before. I would rather try and play more 1 mana interaction like Thoughtseize, Pierce, Consign or more dedicated hate like Needle/Toxic (Nadu variants), Null Rod (Forge), Deafening Silence (Forge/Ritual combo). Why did Death Taxes, Lands, Esper tradebinder, Delver, Moon, Dreadnought etc. get promos at these Eternal Weekends? Why did all three of them have record numbers after such a terrible year of #Grief and the current unplayable meta? I don't have any definition to what's "healthy", I only care about the strategy and challenge of solving the problem at hand which makes me lucky, I guess. The time players spend complaining, I spend planning my next move in the meta! And I'll happily play Legacy no matter the banlist.
Yeah, definitely pros and cons about remote casting. Downside is definitely my inability to get sh*tfaced with some crazy Brits :D I hope you had a fun weekend, Josh!
Excellent commentary and amazing final match! Sadly the thumbnail spoiled the finals matchup while browsing UA-cam because I only today managed to watch the top 8, so I would prefer non-spoiler thumbnails in the future.
If frog goes, we could play UR delver again which would do well against this combo heavy meta You don't see any bolt anywhere and i believe it's only because of frog
@@ecobaronenMTG True for Nadu but if bolt kills any 3 mana creature, there is a problem with the creature being played. You don't kill reliquary, grist or uro with bolt either. Also if you think UB tempo playing delver is good, I think UR Delver is better against combo decks at least because of the reach of bolt and channeler. I do think chaneller is a better card than Nethergoyf on average but the frog countering channeler and bolt is tough. I do think UR is better against Eldrazi too because of price of progress/blood moon. If you really look, most UB deck are mono blue splashing removals and frog. That's my opinion at least

Your commentary was stellar all weekend. Your love for the game and high level play were really shining through.
Perfect! That's the two most important things you can highlight. Mission accomplished

Thanks a lot! I liked how it went as well
Loved watching you in the booth!

Sad you weren’t on site this year but looking forward to catching up on all the coverage !

Thanks!! I had a lot of fun. Realistically, I'll use the cards that did well if they are "unexpected". Sorry
What's up with 5th place?
Yeah that got me curious too...
Looks like an artificial player created to serve as a divider
melee bug. 9, Cenacchi, Fabrizio was TOP8. Meichsner, Tobias played in the tournament, but it's unclear, why melee put him there
Saying Togores is back to his old tricks is crazy 🤣 I think it was unintentional but it was hilarious
Haha, nothing is random on this channel!
I can't help wondering what happened to the 5th place person... disqualified for some reason?

Nadu also says hello to Lightning Bolt. I'm curious if UR Delver will be good in an imaginary post-Frog/Bauble world
