🦈HEY YOU! Go to surfshark.com/nixxiom for 4 EXTRA months of Surfshark! Big shout out to Moocluck for narrating this video while I am getting the house put in order. Thank you very much, kind sir! Maybe you're not so bad after all...
Been a while since Mooclucking has been around. Have you tried any of the new Warlock hero talents in The War Within? Diabolist feels, plays, and visually looks so good.
I actually had a campaign where the Kobold player unironically became not just a mascot but the actual brains behind the party and essentially main character since he roleplayed the character so well compared to everyone else. Also while other players got bored of their characters or had to leave due to IRL stuff, the Kobold was always there.
Yeah kobold sounds right for me though I'm more the party's menace more than mascot, mostly cause I kept getting the town guard angry at us by stealing things
Alright, this is the second time there's been a Nixxiom video calling out humans as being a vanilla option. IN reality, waaaaay closer to us just wanting to either pretend we're Aragorn OR ourselves as we wish to be!
@@MethylglyoxalTrying to create an avatar in a fantasy setting that resembles you as closely as possible as you are irl. . .is anything but "Vanilla".
I played a kenku once. I recorded every session and cut lines and words out of it and put it on my sound pad program. It was an immense amount of work and only hit the humor half the time. But it was a beloved character that met its end wrestling Zariel into the Styx.
I haven't played much D&D, but the one campaign I did engage in was one where I played a gnome necromancer girl. I'm not a buff gymchud, just a tall fat dude. I've never successfully even gotten through a Lord of the Rings movie without falling asleep. I did always love my gnome warlock in WoW though, who directly inspired my D&D gnome, and whom was in turn inspired by characters like Annie and Veigar from League of Legends. I love small, comedic and/ or cute characters who will be all cackles and/ or giggles one moment, then they're summoning infernal demon meteors on your face the next, or possessed bear dolls, or whatever else might be applicable. The juxtaposition there just makes me smile. Oh, and as that necromancer in D&D I loved specializing into debuffs and trying to play smart, like using the floating hand skill to inflict touch debuffs so my allies would have fewer risks to face, or increased vulnerability so they could smash the enemy down all the harder.
When I started playing dnd a few years ago, the choice to be a dragonborn was "exactly" that which is said in this video, along with one of the other players. After playing it for a bit, which made it obvious it was a dragonlike humanoid, I couldn't get into it and changed my character to a human draconic bloodline sorcerer.
My first non-Pathfinder character was a half-orc ranger, but sadly that game never got too far. So I'll list my darlings out for you. Nayah Ilthalan: Mammon bloodline tiefling. Way of shadow monk 9 alchemist artificer 3. Gay af and adores her blacksmith wife. Also a Viper in the Zhentarim and all around party badass. Longest played at 4 years and still going. Lost Mine of Phandelver, Hoard of the Dragon Queen, and now Rise of Tiamat. Trisfiel Sweetpeace: Firbolg grave cleric of Kelemvor. Left with elves at a shrine when her mom took off, dad and aunt went searching and couldn't take tiny Tris with them. Now stuck in Barovia and just found out mommy dear converted to serving Vecna. Dating the transmasc Chrono wizard elf. Party mom. Svalya Enriksdottir: Human battlemaster fighter, protection style. RPed as a Nordmaarian shieldmaiden in the Dragonlance setting. Can take down a horde of goblins and barely get a scratch. Also soloed two ogres, half credit on a third, and half credit on the chieftain. Lost 77 hp in a round and a half and laughed about the battle afterward while giving battle names to her fellow Nordmaarian in the party. Brynna Stormforge: Zhakaran dwarf rogue in the Dragonlance setting. Was possessed by a creepy ghost in Dargaard keep, presumed dead. Allowed her party to escape certain death. RIP Brynna.😢
Not allowing arakocra - means that gm is newbie. Flying is not that powerful and it doesn't help you in 75% encounters, but when it helps you - it's cool
I wanted to play an Ilithid one time, but the answer was no. :( I have not played D&D for 12 or 13 years. Evil is not allowed in some games...Which I now think of as a challenge.
Do you mean good D&D, or 2024 D&D? 2024 D&D: If you play an orc, you like horses, tacos, and sharing smiles with your family. If you play a dwarf, you like Barbra Streisand, cookies, and Hummels. If you play a half-elf, you're probably a bigot.
Funny, because most of my chars are half elves - but you just described the exact opposite of how I play. Hell, even the lawful evil half elf I play isn't racist against orks. Because they are good minions, nice tools to use and very much beneth her becau- FUCK
My player sendet me this vudeo and it it was all tru the tapaxi is a rouge and my elf player is min maxinc sorcerer with fighter eco knigt xD the only i was massing is dampvampire
People play humans when they are confident enough not to have night vision. When they want to be cool because a strange appearance doesn't make people cool. And no, no variant human. Just plain old human. Best race ever.

Would have hoped to see a bit about drows
my thoughts as well
Drows is a subspecie of elves
Fuck drow
Didn't expect a DnD video on this channel, but it's a pleasant surprise.
Yeah kobold sounds right for me though I'm more the party's menace more than mascot, mostly cause I kept getting the town guard angry at us by stealing things
hmmm now I want to play a Tabaxi Monk just for the "I'll claw out your eyes' joke
Ummm.... I adore lore, I have long ass beard, I LOVE elves, etc, yes I'm a dwarf player XD and btw, I like justice 😂
It's scary how accurate these all are 😂

In other words, vanilla. :D

Yeah, maybe.
Nah it’s really for the min max power gamers in the world
I played a kenku once. I recorded every session and cut lines and words out of it and put it on my sound pad program. It was an immense amount of work and only hit the humor half the time. But it was a beloved character that met its end wrestling Zariel into the Styx.
this sure is a video i could spend my time watching with a level of relatability to me as someone who plays D&D on occasion. you did a thing

Of all the dnd videos on UA-cam this is definitely one of them 😂
Elf? MinMaxer? Maybe for movement but a true MinMaxer starts at a Variant Human.

forgot the drow
I play a Blue Dragonborn fighter/Barb who goes by the name, Lazarus Wyrmwood.
I get so excited for new Nixxiom videos then I hear Moocluck and I sigh audibly
I normally see more variety in human characters, in terms of personality, backstory and playstyle, than i see in any other race
The tieflings being lgbtq is very true, I kept forgetting one of my teammates names, so just kept calling her Slanesh 😂
All of this was spot on for every race, holycow
I mean you nailed lizardfolk
As a Floridian big Alligator man hits the spot.
Not allowing arakocra - means that gm is newbie. Flying is not that powerful and it doesn't help you in 75% encounters, but when it helps you - it's cool
Oh holy shit there’s a Dungeon Meshi spoiler in this!
I do play a gnome more than other races, but I am unfortunately not buff. I'm imaginative with a love of comedy.
No Harengon. Cannot take video seriously. Bunnies master race.
Where grungs and warforged?
Time to play an aasimar paladin.
What does it "say about you" if you never played D&D in any form?
That you missed out?
Surprisingly it means your a nerrrrrrd 😂
I always wanted to be the party mascot
I play a golem paladin who is essentially a stone Tortle, so this tracks.
I alow aarakocra in my table, and i don't regret it, my players do X) muhahahhaha cof cof cof
I wanted to play an Ilithid one time, but the answer was no. :(
I have not played D&D for 12 or 13 years.
Evil is not allowed in some games...Which I now think of as a challenge.
I've missed moocluck
No Warforged? With two robot movies in cinema to make jokes about?
Shame.
DnD chats? Count me in!
HEY I PLAYED A TRITON!
Dragonborn...the waterdown half dragon...
Aasimar are almost exclusively chaotic good, which is really annoying, there are other alignments guys.
I always play as a straight male tiefling
1846 Braun Run
Hits like
Hits like again for double double like!
Realizes I, unliked the video
Hits like for a 3rd time to lock it in.
Profit 👍

My player sendet me this vudeo and it it was all tru the tapaxi is a rouge and my elf player is min maxinc sorcerer with fighter eco knigt xD the only i was massing is dampvampire
No one plays Triton? Obviously, you guys haven't watched One For All skits.
Garrosh did in fact.. nothing wrong
Moocluck, what a surprise.🦹♂
What your dad race says about you. Your a nerd. Thank you 😅
People play humans when they are confident enough not to have night vision. When they want to be cool because a strange appearance doesn't make people cool. And no, no variant human. Just plain old human. Best race ever.
I mean Garrosh actually did nothing wrong
Yes😂😂😂
First
Well it a good thing I do not play DnD. In my book D20 is the worse system out there. Plus Wizards of the Crap ruined DnD.
